Very Pleased! A broken key the night before led to the search, the next day, to find a good and available locksmith. I am satisfied with ET and the service done. From the receptionist answering the call to the repair man, all who I interacted with were cordial. Carl was the worker who came out and addressed the issue with the tenant's lock. He was knowledgeable and able to service the problem directly. He even shared some good advice about having keys made properly, where to get that work done at, and the difficulty that can avoid. Service was same day and a phone call was placed to let me know he was en route. Small courtesies like that are appreciated. The price was fair and the lock now works, which is the whole point of needing the services of a lock smith. He was able to get the lock working without the need for a total replace of the cylinder. That is good news on my end since the problem could be fixed for less money. I do recommend you give ET Locksmiths a call if you need services of that type. The are friendly, professional and capable. ET did honor the 10% for the mention of Yelp. That made the final bill even lower priced. All is agreeable here, based on the experience I had using them. read more

My wife and I recently purchased a new home, and called ET Locksmith to replace all the locks. The customer service rep on the phone was very professional and courteous. She answered all of my questions in a pleasant tone, and arranged a weekend morning appointment. The technician called me while en route to notify me of his arrival, and he arrived on time. He re-keyed all of the locks and installed a keypad lock. Everything went smoothly, except the motherboard on the keypad lock did not work. This was certainly an inconvenience, but our technician professionally explained the situation, called his colleague to deliver the replacement part, and completed the installation quickly. He also provided a fresh battery for the keypad lock - a small, but very thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a pleasant experience working with ET Locksmith. From start to finish, they were professional, courteous, and competent. I would rate a 4 1/2 stars due to inconvenience caused by the faulty motherboard. However, the technician did a good job, communicated well, and was open to negotiating on prices - I give them benefit of the doubt. read more

Just bought my condo, which is of course beset with a jillion little problems here and there. One of which is that several of the doors, both exterior and interior, didn't work properly. Who knows how the guys before lived here, but that's besides the point. DEJAN from ET called about a half hour before the appointment I scheduled, saying he was ahead on his schedule and asking if it was alright if he stopped by early. This was a great sign from the start. I had a million things to do that day, so the earlier the better! He came out and was very professional, explaining how everything worked inside the door so I would know what to look out for in the future, and could even do some repairs myself, if need be. Our condo is vintage, from 1928, and has cool old-times knobs and locks, which despite being rusted and beat up, Dejan was very friendly at my desire to keep all the vintage bits in tact, instead of replacing them. Which he was able to do for almost all the hardware. He was very knowledgeable and not pushy, and will definitely call him again when I inevitably lock my keys out of the house. read more

We wanted to get our locks replaced on our condo unit and after reading all of Eli's reviews, had to call ET Locksmith. He is as personable, professional, and prompt as all the reviews say! He said he would be here between 11-1 on Saturday and called a few minutes before he showed up, a couple minutes before 11! We love people who are on time and are respectful of our schedules. Eli was great and walked us through all of the options we had in terms of new deadbolts. He gave us the pros and cons of each one, letting us make our own decision. We have two doors and he was nice enough to waive the fee to match the keys since we picked the best, most expensive lock. Eli did a great job and was done in under 45 minutes. He even offered to sweep up the floor when he finished! So nice, awesome work, would recommend him to anyone! We'll definitely be calling him anytime we need anything! read more

I called ET Locksmith and Security on Friday to see if someone could come out to give me an estimate. The guy shows up today and gave my wife prices for a new lock. They charged a $45 service charge, which they didn't tell me over the phone. If I had known that I would've gone with someone else. Their profile says that they offer free estimates, but it turns out that you have to send a photo to them. The office didn't tell me that when I called, and when I called today they told me that you have to ask for the free estimate in order to know about that policy. The invoice that they gave to my wife says "Non-stop Locksmith" with completely different numbers and addresses. It looks like they contracted this job out. I would like to not be charged the $45 service charge. It's not fair because their profile says "free estimates." read more

Came home late from work and broke my key off inside the lock. Doh! I called ET Locksmith and they said 30-45 minutes. Karl was the locksmith and he showed up even earlier than that. The broken key piece was buried deep inside the lock and even with it being hot outside with limited lighting he was able to extract it pretty darn quick. It meant not having to replace the lock and make all my neighbors change keys, hallelujah! Karl was cool and I definitely recommend him and ET Locksmith to anyone. Given how much we all take our house keys for granted, I'm thinking now ET Locksmith's phone number is one of those that you need to have on your person at all times. read more

It's St. Patrick's Day - you'd think being Irish that it would be a lucky day, but I locked myself out of my building completely. Warm weather meant I grabbed a different coat = no keys. No work, no ability to walk my dog, walked out of the building and couldn't get back in. Called ET Locksmith and the guy may have been sleeping but he said he would be there in 20 minutes. He was awesome - he was there 20 minutes after I called, walked around the building and got me in the backdoor and had me in with my puppy in 5 minutes after arrival, then we did the invoice and I was at work 45 minutes after I called him to help me out! read more

I am a perfectionist, and this company was perfect. When I called to schedule, he offered to send someone immediately and did not "upsell" me. The technician did a fabulous job, fixed one lock in a blink, and clearly explained to me the deadbolt options. He positioned the deadbolts so they would be out of my kids' reach and re-calibrated them so, even if a hand managed to hit the lever, they would lock (i.e., they lock perpendicular not vertical). The care and professionalism were top-notch. The technician even gave me safety pointers and explained how crooks will target doors, locks, etc. Simply excellent! read more

The experience was a good one - responsive, courteous and conscientious. I could not find my car keys recently when I went to a local gym. This company visited my car in a very timely fashion and helped me look inside even though I had no keys. There was no damage to my car. The keys were not in my car. I eventually found my keys inside a coat pocket at the gym (I forgot I wore the coat to the gym -new routine). I could have gotten by with no locksmith. Oh well. I am going to slow my life down the rest of the weekend and relax. I am so glad I found the keys and did not need help getting in my house! read more

I made the unfortunate mistake of locking my keys in my car yesterday morning while it was running and had to go looking for a locksmith. This usually makes me cringe because there are so many shady companies in this business, but I had an excellent experience with (Eliot, Eli? My memory is terrible). I woke him up pretty early in the morning, but he still made it in decent time. It took him about 3 minutes to get into the car and there is no damage of any kind. Eli at ET Locksmith does a great job each and every time. Last year our condominium building needed repairs to our front entry intercom and buzzer system. Eli did a great job, arrived as scheduled, and his prices were very reasonable. Recently we needed to have our building key system updated following a burglary. Ut-Oh Locked my keys in the car on 2/25/15, wind chill around 0 and snowing. I found ET on yelp called to request service and was asked do I have somewhere warm to wait, I locked my keys in the car! The tech, Alex, called me back within 5 minutes and was on site within the next 10 minutes. He was very pleasant and said it would take a minute, it did and I was on my way. Nick from ET locksmith did a great job! We needed a solution to our backdoor because my toddler could easily unlock and open it. He came up with a cheap and quick solution that didn't require us to replace any parts. He also fixed our front lock where our key had broken off into the door. Called them to fix a broken lock at my office and they were there right away. The technician replaced the lock but needed to come back to fix the electric slider mechanism. The tech said that he might have to come back the next day but he came back an hour later and he fixed the slider mechanism. I don't really know how much service like this costs but he gave us a pretty good deal from what he original quoted over the phone. I'll definitely use them again. read more

I was locked out of my apartment an thankfully found Eli on Google. He came to help me immediately on a Sunday afternoon. He was extremely nice, courteous and professional. Brandon was great! It was Christmas Eve, I was in a huge rush to make it to my wife's parent's house and I left my keys on the kitchen counter as I left. I contacted Ami at AD Garage Doors and Locks who came across to me as honest, well versed, and experienced. His technician Tom inspected the lock the next day and found that the mechanism had broken to open and close the deadbolt and had to be replaced. Because it was an older wood door and lock, Ami and Tom recommended replacing the original 5" Kwikset deadbolt with a 5" Schlage deadbolt latch that would fit the pre-drilled holes in the door. Tom was able to secure a large enough plate to cover the extra pre-drilled hole in the door and give us a functioning front door lock. AD Garage Doors and Locks completely met my expectations at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them in the Chicago area.
