Hired ET Locksmith for a lock change to a porch door that I never had a key for. Brandon came out and he was awesome. Took one look and told me that he could possibly make one of my house keys work in the lock. He was able to do that instead of having to replace the whole doorknob and lock. Fast and easy. Would HIGHLY recommend! read more

Very fast response, professional service. On hand within 20 minutes of my call. Alas, while they were able to open the doors of my car, they could not open the trunk, so I'm looking for another locksmith. read more

Brent was FANTASTIC! There was a little confusion on pricing that I didn't love but it worked out fine. The work was done really quick and Brent was polite, knowledgable and AWESOME. When you call in, be sure to clarify how many locks/doors you are redoing. I verified 3 times and the pricing was different when Brent showed up. Not a crisis though. I would totally use them again. read more

Chris was fantastic! I called and they were able to fit me in later that evening. They re-keyed both my locks and even fixed my door jam (my door wouldn't latch). I will definitely use them again! read more

I was extremely satisfied with the professional work and caring attitude of Eli and ET Locksmith. Our building hired ET to install a new lock on our back gate and put in steel wire mesh on the gate for added security. The quote came in lower than others and he didn't try to "up sell" me on things we didn't need. Eli keyed the new lock to our existing locks that use the same key and sub-contracted a superior welder to do the wire mesh and protective sleeve around the lock. Very satisfied and would highly recommend. read more

We've used ET Locksmiths for a couple different projects. Eli is prompt, more than fair in pricing, and gets things done! I strongly recommend these guys!! read more

Since my last review, I got an apology and they comped the service charge. I do appreciate the effort to make me feel better about my last 2 experiences. read more

I got locked out of my apartment while doing laundry. I am an idiot. Had the boo google/yelp locksmiths. I called, they explained pricing and came out in like 20 minutes! guy is a genius, he had my door opened in like 15 seconds (wish i had a hair pin to try it but i had nothing). Anyways, he even gave me a discount when I mentioned yelp. Made it hurt just a bit less (hey, I wasn't expecting to get locked out this week!) read more

Tim did a great job installing new hardware and rekeying a lock for a rental unit. Once again they did a great job.

Thanks for getting me into my place at 2a after a very boozey trip to Mexico! I discovered I didn't have my house keys a couple hours before flying back to Chicago. I was flying through Phoenix so called in between legs. I expected to be home by 1a so set it up so Patrick would meet me then. My flight was delayed a short time so when I got to Chicago I changed meet time to 1:30a. Baggage claim took longer than expected so called again to change meet time to 2a. Nobody got annoyed by my constant changes and I was expecting to get charged an arm and a leg for a 2a Sunday morning lockout. ET Locksmith was courteous and the price was extremely reasonable. I've since recommended my property management company change their go-to locksmith to ET Locksmith. read more

I called Eli on Friday afternoon after reading the Yelp reviews. He was very nice and professional on the phone. We set up for him to change my apartment's locks on Saturday. He called Saturday to confirm he could come earlier. He showed up, changed the locks in a short amount of time and couldn't have been nicer or more professional. I would highly recommend his services and will definitely use him again. read more

ET Locksmith did a great job in responding to our emergency need. One of our tenants needed to have the locks changed right away. They will able to get us in that same evening, and it took Chris literally 5-10 minutes to change the lock. Chris was also very personable. We will definitely use ET Locksmith again if we need to have the locks changed in any of our buildings. read more

The deadbolt on our back door was cheap and had been giving us problems for a while. Finally it decided it didn't want to retract completely anymore, leaving the door more or less permanently locked. We called up ET because they replaced the doorknob on the same door six months prior, and we had used them in the past for standard stuff like changing locks and gaining entry to my mother-in-law's car when I locked myself out of it. They called and said they could send a tech earlier than the window, which was perfect for us. The tech (Neil) arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem, explained the issue, and clearly outlined the costs of replacing the lock. He threw in two free keys as well. All told the entire visit took about 30 minutes. Quick and relatively easy. Highly recommend. read more

Based upon reviews in both Angie's List and Yelp (if you aren't a member of Angie's list, I recommend it -- $10/year I think? is worth it), I chose ET for getting locks re-keyed. Despite a slight mishap about rescheduling times, Wayne showed up on time for the original appointment. He was well-prepared, polite and extremely efficient despite the change in orders. He made sure that I checked that the locks worked when he was finished, which I appreciated. We will most likely need assistance again for new doors, and I hope that Wayne will be sent out to see us again! read more

He was great. He came over really quickly, drilled the lock, replaced it and fitted the new lock to our key. All in about 45 minutes!

Great customer service! Excellent communication! Adam was outstanding- he congratulated me on my first home purchase and made sure he cleaned up after himself. Adam worked efficiently to replace two door locks and two deadbolts. I will absolutely encourage my friends and neighbors to call these guys first and ask for Adam when they want the job done right! read more

I had a high security lock that had to be grinded, as the key was lost. They gave me the best price and they were prompt, courteous and professional. I would hire them again. read more

I've called Eli twice in the past week, and have nothing but good things to say about him! He came out to re-key the locks on my new house last weekend - he was right on time, got the job done quickly, and got us from three keys down to two for our various doors. Then yesterday, we managed to lock our keys in the car. Which was running. Fortunately I still had Eli's number in my phone! He was there in 10 minutes and had the car open in no time. I would highly recommend ET Locksmith to anyone - in addition to being very professional, Eli is also a really nice guy. Two thumbs up! read more

Comes across more like Joe College than the expected trog. Showed up on time, did the work, and cleaned up. When there was confusion over the price of an item, he just gave it to me at the price I believed it should be. read more

3rd time locking myself out in the last 7 years. I was dreading calling a locksmith just from the horrible past experiences. There is a reason that ET Locksmith has great reviews. Tim O'Reilly is the tech who ET Locksmith sent by and I couldn't be more happier. This guy was fast, efficient, most importantly knew his craft not to mention he had exceptional customer service. I got into my condo in less than 10 minutes with no damage to my lock. I hope to never need a locksmith again, but if I do. I will be calling ETL and asking for Tim. Their number auto locked in my contact list. I highly recommend this company. read more

I had Pedro fix the back gate of our condo building. He welded a support plate so that the lock would catch and also welded a steel plate over the area for better security. We were able to use the same lock and key, saving us $$$ on a new lock. He did a great job at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend ET Locksmith and will use them again for our building. Pedro is a very nice guy and very good at what he does, very happy with his service. The company even called back after the service to make sure everything was fixed to our satisfaction. read more

I came in the other day (literally right as they were closing) and had to get my new door handle re-keyed. Montez and Kevin were very helpful, and welcomed my business even though I came in right at the last minute. They gave me a few extra keys for free as well as some helpful advice on additional security measures for our door. Great customer service and very reasonable prices- I will definitely return! read more

My front door lock was no longer working from the outside of the house. Alex came out and gave me two options. He explained what was happening and then replaced the barrel and provided the new key. Alex was great! Very polite, professional and speedy. I will definitely call upon ET Locksmith again, perhaps to re-key the other doors. My only disappointment with them was the additional cost for service/trip charge. I think if they come out and actually do the job, the trip fee should be waived or subtracted from the actual cost of material and labor. That, however, is not Alex' call and I still think he was great! read more

We recently (september 2011) used Eli from ET Locksmith and security to install a new intercom in our building and were extremely happy with the service and the work. Eli was recommended by a neighbor and when I contacted him he responded very promptly, came on time to his appointments (for an estimate visit and for the actual work); he was quick to respond to e-mails and return phone calls. More importantly he did a great job and we are very happy with the system he installed and how everything was neat and clean after he was done. The price was also very reasonable for the work which took a long time because our old wiring was very damaged and need replacing. Other estimates we had received from other contractors were outrageaous, whereas Eli charged a reasonable price for the job. So we were very satisfied and are happy to let other know about it. I would give 0 stars if I could. I don't know how they have 5 stars at all! I received such TERRIBLE customer service from this company! I called Saturday around 8:30am and asked for someone to come rekey my lock. They put me down for between 4-6pm and said someone would call when they were a half hour away. I called around 4pm and confirmed and they said yes, I was still scheduled for 4-6pm. Around 4:55pm, the locksmith called and said he was about a half hour away. By 6pm, he still hadn't shown or called so I called him back and asked where he was. He said that the company sent him on another call instead of mine and he wasn't going to be at my place anytime soon. I asked where he was. He said he didn't know. I asked just for a general area of the city where he was so I could estimate when he'd get to me. He said he didn't know and he was just on Whipple. I said Whipple and what. He said he didn't know. He said he didn't know when he would be getting to me or how long it would take or anything. He literally knew NOTHING. I got mad and called customer service. They said he wouldn't get to me until 6:45 or so. That was unacceptable and I couldn't wait for him. I spoke to a supervisor who told me that it was more important for him to go help someone else with more than one lock than to come help me with my locks even though I was scheduled so basically some of your customers are more important than others and customer service is just thrown to the wind. Then he made a big deal about how they were nice and scheduled me for a same day appointment. Obviously you had a slot open or you wouldn't have scheduled me! That's your job to schedule clients! Don't act like you did me this huge favor by doing what you're supposed to do! The thing that really made me mad was that the locksmith didn't even call to say he would be late or he had another call. He was just going to show up 45 minutes late (if he even came) and expect me to fine with it. Absolutely not! I went with another company who came and did a great job. read more

Chris came out and did a great job. Very friendly, prompt, got the work done quick. The gate lock on our building was broken, he swapped out a new lock, we don't have to change keys, easy. Great job! read more

I needed Tom R. to come out again for work on our front gate. Same wonderful service as before. He called to let me know he was on his way and he was so polite and courteous. He made an adjustment to another gate lock because he felt it was necessary even though I didn't ask him to do it. I jokingly told him that I'm running out of superlatives to describe his wonderful service. Thanks again Tom and it was nice to see you again! read more

I was locked out of my condo on the Sat night between Xmas and New Years and called two other locksmiths before ET. They picked up my call on the second ring, said someone should call within the hour, and Tim, the technician, called 5 minutes later to say he'd be over in about 25 minutes. He arrived just when he said he would, tried hard to pick the lock, explaining the whole time what he was doing and ended up getting me into my place in a short period of time. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and most concerned to get me inside as soon as he could. To get this level of fast service on a busy Sat night (one other place I called said it would be "very late") is amazing. I would use them again in a minute. read more

ET Locksmith lives up to the other 5-star reviews. Not only was Eli able to come out that night to rekey my locks, he talked with me about my locks and, based on his advice, I came to the conclusion that I should upgrade locks. He then was willing to come out on Saturday to redo my locks. Most amazing part: he reimbursed me for the initial rekeying of my locks! How nice is that! He was speedy, considerate, and wonderfully nice. All my locks now use one key, which makes things much easier for me. And I am definitely calling him when my building is able to redo our common locks. read more

Super quick coming out. Joseph was very good, efficient, professional and friendly! I'd highly recommend ET locksmith and Joseph!

I called ET locksmith to replace my back lock. It has never worked. Michael showed before the window they gave me. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain my options. Michael was able to fix the problem without even replacing the lock, saving me money. I wish all businesses were as honest and customer-oriented as this one. If you're having any problems with your locks, don't go with anyone else!!!!!! read more

I called Eli because the buzzer/intercom system stopped working in our building. He came out that day and quickly diagnosed the problem.

I was in a bind to find a reliable locksmith but thanks to Yelp I took a chance and called ET Locksmith base on the reviews on Yelp. I was very satisfied with the work he did, professional and he knows what he's doing. He was done in less than an hour. The new locks he placed were sturdy and not the cheap kind.
