My go to here is getting an espresso martini and the burger with fries(sometimes truffle fries). The service is usually good. The espresso martini is a consistent drink, nice coffee flavor and shaken enough to create a foam top. The burger with fries is filling for 1 person. I've also tried other dishes such as their lobster roll(which was ok), chicken and waffles, mushroom risotto, their korean breakfast bowl(which wasnt that great), softshell crab benedict. Depending when you go, it can be busy so maybe make reservations. For the most part, this restaurant is consistent food and service wise.
Wonderful breakfast get together with Yelp friends Gail U. and Donna O. at et. al. 5 stars for the great get together! The restaurant has a large bar and counter top area. The bar chairs have gorgeous fabric backing with flower leis. Very welcoming to those who enter the establishment. The tables are standard, as well as the chairs. Spacious area with a variety of table sizes. Service is generally attentive and friendly. We were not rushed out and we were able to eat and talk at ease. Food is average. The Haupia (coconut) French toast was unremarkable. The Haupia flavor was missing and the bottom pieces of toast were on the mushy side. I was not a fan of this dish. Gail's breakfast included a side of 'ulu (breadfruit) tots. This was unique and tasty. Thank you for letting me try it. Donna's mochi waffle was crispy and slightly chewy. The honey walnut chicken was unremarkable. The presentation of this dish is a big fail. Please look at the photos. Thank you for letting me taste your dish. I enjoyed my refillable iced coffee. Perfect for a warm day. Coffee flavor was subtle and almond milk blended well. Bathroom is Not available within the restaurant. You will need to obtain a code and walk outside near the Coffee Bean and Tea establishment. My wife and i stopped by on a whim on a rare, random day that we didn't have the kids with us. The restaurant is located inside the Foodland at Kahala...very unassuming. We were seated quickly. The place was at around 75-80% full but our waiter was super attentive and helpful. Ended up ordering the Crispy Ahi Confit Croquettes to start. They were absolutely delicious. I also ordered a Garden State drink...because...well...that's my homestate. Really, no other reason than that. The drink was super refreshing and light. Onto the main courses, my wife was super disappointed to learn that they were sold out of her first choice of the Miso Mushroom Melt. Our waiter told us that they had just recently redone the menu and that was one of the newer items and it had been selling out a lot as its super popular. She ended up getting the wagyu burger and enjoyed every bite of it. I ordered the Braised Short Rib Loco Moco with an extra over easy egg. The meat was super tender and flavorful and the crispy onions added that extra layer of texture. Absolutely delicious. To finish off the meal I decided to get a Banana Bread Latte and holy hell was it tasty. So much so that my wife took once sip and immediately ordered a decaf one to go for herself. Definitely check this place out if you can. Just beware the parking lot is SUPER tight...also lots of people that don't know how to pull into their stalls properly. I've seen multiple minor accidents in that parking lot. We even got hit by an elderly lady who was backing up and not paying attention as we were leaving.

It's tasty! Eggs perfectly cooked. Comes with salad on the side. Got the avocado toast to share. It was massive! Had a mild spice to it. Service was good. Just took a little long for the check and water refill.
6-3-2026 We arrived a few minutes before our 9 a.m. table reservations . We could select any table so I asked for the one in the corner: more room, less tables nearby. Our server was very patient as we decided on what to eat and drink. Very knowledgeable of the menu choices- what was popular and what ingredients were used. We each chose something different. Donna had the chicken and waffles plus iced coffee, Jackie tried their French toast and added cream to her iced coffee. I had 2 poached eggs, strips of extra crispy bacon and good tasting ulu tots( breadfruit tots) plus an Olena refresher. On the Open Table on line reservations you can notify them if someone is celebrating a birthday. They brought a nice big scoop of the BEST mango sorbet to Donna with 3 spoons for all of us to try- it was really good. They have beautiful counter chairs decorated with printed views of draped leis.

We've both been here plenty of times with our families over the years, and we'll come for both brunch and dinner depending on the occasion, but this visit was for dinner. Their menu was recently refreshed, so while a few favorites remain, there are quite a few new dishes to explore. I ordered the Watercress/Kale Salad with Grilled Chicken, while my friend went with the Mushroom Risotto topped with Shrimp. Both dishes were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully plated. Nothing overly complicated--just well-executed food that's consistently reliable. Of course, cocktails were a must. My friend paired her meal with the Lychee Hibiscus Martini, while I started with an Espresso Martini. I'm always on the hunt for a standout espresso martini, and this one definitely delivered--smooth, balanced, and one I'd happily order again. The biggest surprise of the night, though, was the Matcha Whey cocktail. After visiting countless cocktail lounges, I wasn't expecting this drink to stand out as much as it did--but it absolutely did. It looks light and almost transparent, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was expecting, but instead it had this incredibly smooth, creamsicle-like finish that was completely unexpected. Easily one of my favorite cocktails I've had in a long time. My only disappointment is that the bone marrow is no longer a item on the menu. It was one of my favorites, and I hope it makes a return someday. Et Al continues to be one of my favorite dependable spots on the island. It's the kind of place my family gives gift cards to for birthdays and special occasions--not just to me, but to other family members and loved ones as well--because it's somewhere we know we'll genuinely enjoy. Whether it's brunch, a casual girls' night, or a special occasion, it never disappoints. Looking forward to seeing what else comes with the new menu, but one thing's for sure--I'll definitely be back. One thing to note is the parking. There's a shared lot for the businesses in the shopping center, and I've never had much trouble finding a spot. That said, the layout can be a little awkward with its narrow lanes in the entrance and tight turns, so navigating through the lot can be more of a headache than actually parking. Fortunately, once you make it through, the convenience of having dedicated parking makes the visit pretty hassle-free.
This is one of the things I love about Hawaii...an upscale restaurant run by a grocery store chain featuring excellent locally sourced food. I feel like you don't find this anywhere else in the country. Et al. exceeds in service standards, which is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The ambiance is modern and fresh. Very comfortable! We started with the Sumida Watercress Salad with Green Goddess Dressing. Yum! I had the pan-seared kanpachi over choy sum in a spicy chili water broth! Absolutely delicious. My dining companion had the mushroom risotto and it was a stand out! Reservations are recommended.
Monday May 25, 2026 first time, coming here. Private parking lot for a lot of food places. We didn't have a reservation. We were seated in 5-10 minutes. We came here for breakfast. But, they have a brunch menu instead. Service was fast and friendly. We both ordered the Braised Short Rib Loco Moco. Food came out shortly after. It looked good and tasted good too. The Braised Short Rib was super soft. Ambiance is casual and comfortable in here.

This is now my favorite meal at this restaurant. I am a pescatarian, so I get this at least twice a week. It's so good. I highly recommend it if you like fish. The service is always great. Never really busy when I go in, typically go in around 830-900 on the weekends without a reservation. My boyfriend gets the Loco Moco (he thinks it's one of the best on the island). The restaurant is located inside Foodland, but it's a really nice, clean, aesthetically pleasing place inside My only issue is that I try to call and order ahead for a to-go order, but I can rarely get through.
We enjoy coming here for the lobster roll but recently the price has gone up. The market price in March was $45 which makes it quite an expensive lunch. You do get decent chunks of lobster though. The seasoning seems to have changed a bit. Seems to have more seasoning than prior times. It is also on their dinner menu but being a sandwich makes it seem more fitting for lunch. It is not on their Pau Hana menu, so if you're there between 3-5 pm the lobster roll is not available and there are only four small bites to choose from.
Came here on a Sunday for brunch and it was fairly busy. It can get loud especially with larger parties. The waitress was very attentive and our food came out quick. I got the honey walnut chicken and mochi waffles, which was delicious. My friend got the pan fried chicken thigh, which she said she enjoyed. It was a coconut chicken over a salad and a side of rice. For dessert, we got coconut and mango sorbet. Both was tasty and creamy! I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
I've always wanted to try this place out and I was glad I did. We ordered the Maui Beets, Tagliatelle, and et al. Burger. The beets were just so yummy. They had a tangy sauce that was bright and lively and paired well with the earthy beets. The tagilatelle was also good, but quite small for the price. Finally, the burger was good, kind of your average burger but the fires where AMAZING, super crispy. I think this place is good but its pretty expensive for the amount of food you get.
Had a nice gift card, so was delighted to try et al., conveniently located across the highway from Kahala Mall. I really like the premise of this family-friendly restaurant, which spotlights fresh, local ingredients, at a mid-range price point. et al. has a lot of good things going for it, The good: 1. Well-lighted, warm-hued interior with a nice, contemporary vibe. The high ceilings, clean lines, and rounded storage vaults reminded me of Italy. Cute "local" Hawai`i touches: palaka-inspired banquette upholstery, Hawaiian-quilt design screening on the tiled floor. -More veggie-forward than a lot of places: always good to find places that don't mask their greens with heavy sauces and treat vegetable preparation with respect. Ovo-lacto vegetarians will not starve at this place. 2. Cheerful, friendly, attentive, and efficient service. Food came out quicky. Cold things were cold; hot things hot. Water was replenished frequently. 3. Overall, we enjoyed the food! It reminded me a little of the old Mariposa at Neiman Marcus Ala Moana, in terms of menu. I appreciated the simple, clean, bright flavors that highlighted the fresh, local ingredients - no heavy-handed demi-glaces or sauces detracting from dishes. While not exceptional or innovative, et al.'s middle-of-the-road, easygoing, familiar, "safe" flavors have broad appeal, making this restaurant a smart bet for parties with non-adventurous diners. I had the catch of the day: my opah came with an addictive, zesty mojo sauce (like a spicy chimichurri, bright with garlic, cilantro, and lime), Ho tomatoes, eggplant, and garlic rice: a winner! My fellow diner had the Kahuku Golden Tomato Malfaldine: tasty, though a bit one-note, but on the other hand, they had perfectly cooked pasta and crookneck squash. 4. While we didn't take advantage of this, the restaurant shows sensitivity to those with dietary needs/preferences. It openly states on its menu that they're willing to modify menu items, making things vegan, gluten-free, dairy free, etc. 5. Easy-peasy online reservation via Open Table. And areas for improvement: 1. Garlic Bread: can't ask for a better foundational base than Chris Sy's Breadshop City loaf: first-rate crusty bread; there was robust garlic flavor, and fresh chives to further amplify savoriness. Unfortunately, my dining partner and I both thought it was over-buttered (couldn't really discern the miso in the miso butter) and overly salty from the cheese. That being said, I'm certain there would be diners that might've thought the seasoning and buttering was perfect: this may be a matter of taste. But $6 for a halved slice of bread? Really?! Ouch. 2. Menu labeling issues: -Sumida Farms Watercress Salad: despite the name, the salad had barely any watercress and mostly kale. Not lacinato kale (Italian kale) either, as advertised on the description, but curly kale. If et al. listed this menu item as kale salad with watercress and didn't specify the type of kale (or hedged by saying "seasonal kale"), it would've been fine. Fortunately, we both like kale, and this was a delicious salad that was an absolute pleasure to eat, deftly dressed with housemade Green Goddess dressing, as good as it comes, fresh kale, watercress sprigs, watermelon radish slices, diced Asian pear, and Marcona almonds: savory, sweet, crunchy. The misleading advertising is problematic. -You should let diners know via the menu description if an item is spicy. The mojo sauce on the fish was dynamite, but I'm a spice-addict, and I'd rank the heat level as medium, maybe medium-hot for most people. Diners with no/low tolerance for chiles should be warned ahead of time. 3. Might want to clean the banquette upholstery: some visible stainage. With a few refinements, I could see et al. becoming a go-to East Honolulu destination for date night, or lunch out with the girls, or a nice but not break-the-bank special dinner out with the family. read more
Celebrated a special birthday today with a great lunch! One had the mochi waffles with poached eggs, another the clam chowder as she'd already eaten earlier. The other two decided to order the Wagyu burger with Truffle fries and the Lobster roll with salad-then split both! Everything was delicious, and the Olena refresher was yummy. It was my first time there and we had a lovely time. The service was pretty good, and the restaurant layout was airy. There is a restroom code at reception, but good luck asking for directions. That's ok, got some steps in and discovered it nearby; exit Foodland to the right and turn right. It's clean and spacious! read more

We chose this location due to a friend's recommendation. We reviewed the menu online before arriving, so we knew what we wanted to order. When we got there, they gave us a lunch menu and told us they changed the menu that day. It was their first day with a new menu and hadn't updated their website yet. My heart was set on the garlic chicken and mochi waffles so I was upset cause the lunch menu wasn't my jam. However, the server informed the manager, and he was able to accommodate my request for the chicken and waffles. I was really appreciative that they were able to do that! I went here for my birthday dinner because I've heard great things about et al. They did not disappoint !! This mushroom risotto was so good I couldn't stop eating it. It has a very strong and nice flavor, adding chicken on top helped balance out the flavors nicely as well. The staff was very attentive and gave us great recommendations from the menu. Not to mention, the restaurant is SO beautiful. It has to be the nicest restaurant I have seen in a while and I love the elegant feel. read more
We came on Mother's Day during brunch hours so the service was a bit slow as expected. The food took about 25 minutes to come out after ordering and we got the fresh catch, clam chowder, and lobster roll. The lobster roll...while it had a generous portion of lobster meat, some pieces tasted a bit..off. Like slightly stinky after taste. And too much mayo/sauce on the bottom made it feel like a soggy $45 mayonnaise sandwich. The fries and clam chowder were really good though. My water was also empty and no one came to refill it until after we asked for the check. Overall not bad but could be better read more

Since we were in the area, we decided to give et al. a try--and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The restaurant has a calm, relaxing, and inviting ambiance. Our waiter was really nice, friendly & attentive. We started with an Ube Latte and a Banana Bread Latte, and both were an excellent choice--absolutely delicious! I ordered the Honey Walnut Chicken & Mochi Waffles, and wow... so good! Every bite was worth it. My daughter had the Ahi Confit Cake Benedict, and she really enjoyed it as well. Overall, our first visit to et al. was a great experience. Will we be back? Most likely! If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking them out. read more

Service was actually really good, which almost makes me feel bad for leaving a not-so-amazing review. The restaurant is located inside the Kahala Foodland Market with lots of parking, which is a big plus. It's a small, cute spot with great colors and thoughtful seating arrangements. The bar area is especially cute. My friend and I came for pau hana during happy hour, which runs daily from 2:30 to 5 p.m. We ended up ordering almost everything on the happy hour menu, as we usually do. The fries were honestly the only standout for us. You really can't go wrong with fries, and these were solid--crispy, well-seasoned, and satisfying. The arancini didn't quite hit for me. They were a bit soggy and lacked flavor, with a slight bitter aftertaste that threw things off. The chicken was also somewhat soggy. We were expecting something closer to crispy, crunchy Korean fried chicken, so this may have just been a misunderstanding on our part, but it wasn't what we were hoping for. The sliders were decent. Simple and straightforward--nothing bad, nothing amazing. They definitely could've used some ketchup or an extra sauce for more flavor. The bone marrow was very oily, which is expected, but the texture was a little off. It felt rubbery and was harder to eat than usual. I've had marrow many times and usually love it, so this one was a bit disappointing. The grilled sourdough that came with it, though, was good. My friend ordered a cocktail (I can't remember the name), but she really enjoyed it--and it was super cute, pink, and pretty. Overall, the space is lovely and the service was attentive and kind. While the food didn't fully land for us this time, I'd still consider coming back to try other items, especially given the great service and convenient location. read more

I came here after graduation with some friends, we walked in with no reservation and were able to get seated fairly quickly. However, I would say if you wanted "good" seating, I would recommend reserving a spot as we had to settle for the large shared table in the middle of the establishment, sitting between two different parties. The service was okay, nothing exceptional. We ordered: * Et Al Burger: 10/10, my friend ordered this and he said it was very good. The meat was done perfectly (medium rare) and the fries were a good pairing. * Chicken & Waffles: 10/10, my other friend ordered this and we all got to try a bite. The black sesame butter was perfection and amazing addition to the waffles and syrup. The chicken also came with like a Korean fried chicken syrup (kind of reminds me of zippys iykyk). * Short Rib Loco Moco: 8/10. I got this, it was okay, it was flavorful but the short rib / gravy flavor wasn't really appealing to me in that moment. I liked the fried onions which helped to break up the textures. * Soft-Shell Crab Benedict: 9/10. Another of my friends got this and I got to have a bite. I think this was pretty good and I liked all aspects of it (especially the side of hashbrowns hah). Our main critique was the small portion, as most people I've been that served benedict dishes would have two benedicts not just one. Overall, I would recommend this spot to others. I don't think I would personally come back though, as there weren't many items that sparked my interest (maybe besides the chicken & waffles, which I got to try already this time) and the price point/ portion don't particular draw me in. read more
This is a conveniently located, lively restaurant within the Kahala market place under the freeway. It is crowded but gives you an excuse to browse in the adjacent poke and dessert sections in the market as you wait. Service is excellent and there is a full bar. They also have their own signature cocktails. There are tables as well as counter high tables in the bar. We sat at a table but the bar scene was enticing. Now the food... Maui beets were a tasty starter. The beets were crunchy and fresh and we added on arugula to complete the salad. It comes with oranges and a tangy lemon pesto dressing. Also has pistachios for texture and chèvre for a creamy funk. The braised short rib loco moco was one of the best loco interpretations I've tasted. The gravy was thick and umami and complemented the garlic rice. Also had a large piece of succulent short rib. The citrus brined pork chop was generous portioned but slightly dry. It is prepared medium well but I have trichinosis paranoia so was ok with the temperature. The apricot glaze and pomegranate reduction was flavorful. The chopped salad with chicken truffle sherry vinaigrette was average. Definitely would opt for the beet salad next time. Definitely will return and sample other drinks and dishes. read more

Went for lunch and the food was great! This was my second time here. Last time I ordered the risotto and it was so delicious but I wanted to try something else this time. I ordered the soft shell crab egg Benedict and it was so yummy. All the flavors really went well together. It also game with an ulu and potato rostini (similar to hash browns.) While the flavors were good, it was very hard and difficult to eat. It's a pretty small restaurant, but very nice ambiance and the tables are spread out enough to where you don't feel too crowded. The service was also good and our server was able to give us good recommendations on what to order. read more
I've always heard good things about the breakfast brunch here so we went here on Valentine's Day on a weekend I believe in the morning and it was pretty busy. The restaurant itself is very lovely inside and the ambience is very calming but modern and chic at the same time. The bar is beautiful with a mirrored back and the bottles everywhere that create a classy sense of the bar. The brunch was impressive and I asked myself why I haven't come here earlier! The Hawaiian Clam Chowder was a decent sized portion and not to clam like tasting. I wished there were more actual clams in the soup, but I was glad it did come with some bread. The oysters were a good size. I can't remember exactly the type of oysters, but the sauce it came with was delicious. The espresso martinis were pretty good. Although I wish that they used freshly brewed espresso from what I believe they didn't. But the breakfast bowl was the highlight of the meal for me. It's a great balance of meat and vegetables and salty and crunchy and soft textures. It really is a breakfast bowl that I would eat every day. The braised beef loco moco was also pretty good. Although the gravy could've been a little tastier, but was still delicious. I like the thin fried onion rings that came with the loco moco because it created a nice balance and added texture to the dish. I wish there were mushrooms in the loco moco lol. Always look forward to dining at Et.al. on this occasion, really celebrating nothing except friendship. Still, our server Ryan made us all feel special and valued as customers. Loved all the suggestions that Ryan made. We ended up getting most of them. Can't wait to "attempt to recreate that burrata appetizer. Loved the truffle sherry dressing on vegetable salad. And that gnocchi knocked the ball right out of the park! We enjoyed our time so much that am sure we overstayed our visit. Still, never felt rushed. My go to spot for casual dining with friends or entertaining clients. Easy to make a reservation on Open Table, which I highly recommend doing. It could be super busy at times. Parking is right outside. Easy! Located inside of foodland. Might be a little confusing, but you'll find it! The staff here are nice and accommodating. Food is Ono. I love their braised short rib loco moco and their ulu rosti. If you haven't tried it, do so! But honestly, everything is good here. Really can't go wrong. read more

I ordered a Sumida Watercress Salad as stated on the menu. I got a bowl of chopped Kale with very little chopped stems of watercress. Absolutely NOT what I ordered and expected!!! My wife ordered a Caesar salad and also got a bowl of kale with very very little actual lettuce in the bowl! Very deceptive, advertising and presentation of the salads. We will not be returning to this restaurant, but instead, we will stay with the sister restaurant Mahi'ai Table in Kapolei because that menu comes out exactly as stated. read more
This place is just like Mahi'ai Table in Kapolei Foodland but different menu. Easy to reserve table online and excellent service by all staff. Local fusion food. It's good, unique, and affordable. Nice place to get some cocktails and other adult drinks to relax and unwind. It's wasn't too noisy when I visited even though it was pretty much full house. This was a must when back visiting to Hawaii as my boyfriend raved about this place! We ordered - Short Rib Aranci - The sweet peas add the most delectable crunch while also having a crispy exterior once you bite, accompanied with a bright green sauce that perfectly compliments the meal. Bone Marrow - 10/10 not sure what else to say except for TRY THIS. The caper berries on the side were so amazing I had asked for some to go! Great neighborhood joint inside of Foodland Kahala MKT across from Zippys. Plenty of free parking in the lot. They have a lot of menus - brunch/lunch, dinner, happy hour, bar, dessert. Drinks are good, actually pretty strong. Arancini is bomb but pricey, even on happy hour as there's just 3 I believe. The burger is good, salad is solid, fries are crispy/tasty, the risotto is magic - definitely get that. Oh and get the lilikoi macadamia tart thing. Lilikoi caramel! Who knew? So 'ono! I wish they had Paradise Ciders Guava Lava instead of the Killah Dragon though! Would be dangerous and I'd be there a lot more often! Came here for a few dinners/happy hours. Good service and ambiance. Kid friendly but not too loud. Comfy and cozy decor. read more
Et Al had all the makings of a great night out--reservations were a breeze through OpenTable, we were seated immediately, and parking was conveniently easy--but the rest of the evening felt like a comedy of errors with a 2-star punchline. The only true winner was the $14 Maui Beets starter: fresh red and yellow beets and radish paired with sweet Land Farm chevre, orange segments, pistachios, and lemon basil pesto in a perfect symphony of salt, acid, and crunch that felt like a match made in heaven. Everything else? Downhill fast. My $37 Grilled Kona Kanpachi arrived with the skin still on (not my thing at all), swimming in a sizzling chili soy broth with pak choy, cilantro, and garlic rice that sounded way more exciting on the menu than it tasted in reality--just underwhelming and hard to enjoy. My friend's $35 Citrus Brined Pork Chop with Brussels sprouts, pearl onions, sumac, curried apricot glaze, and pomegranate reduction was dry and tough (I tried a bite and fully agreed), and to top it off, they completely forgot her side of fingerling potatoes; by the time they finally arrived, the meal was nearly over and they felt almost pointless. All the while, the deafening noise level--laughter and conversations ricocheting off every wall--forced us to literally shout across the table just to hear each other. Service was painfully slow, adding insult to injury in the chaotic din. The lone redemption for my friend came at dessert with the chocolate macadamia nut tart drizzled in lilikoi sauce (we got it à la mode), which she adored even if it was tooth-achingly sweet for me. Et Al has flashes of brilliance, but between the noise, sluggish pacing, and mostly disappointing plates, it felt more like an endurance test than a relaxing dinner. I wanted to love it, but two stars is the honest verdict--so proceed with tempered expectations! read more

One of the best meals I have ever had in Hawaii. The flavors and thoughtfulness reminded me of some of the best farm-to-table SoCal restaurants. I went for Valentine's Day and it was a wonderful meal! We ordered the salad, a soup, the burger, a pasta and drinks. Highly recommend for special occasions or just to treat yourself! The cocktails also stood out to me, definitely worth the splurge. The service was also noticeably impressive, despite being a busy dinner rush for the occasion. This place is a hidden gem, and while I hope the word doesn't get out too fast so I can still book a table with ease....I won't gatekeep what has become a standout Oahu restaurant! read more

Extremely disappointed with the Sweet 'Ewa Corn Casarecce. For the price, I expected a full, well-presented plate eventhough it was takeout..... what I received looked like the leftovers of someone else's meal. The pasta was barely half a portion, shoved to one side of the takeout container with sauce smeared all over the empty half. Presentation matters, and this looked like zero care was put into it. I won't be ordering this again. This is $24. When they first opened I gave them a 5 star revirw. Since then the menu has changed alot with cheaper items but prices stayed the same. read more
