I ordered iced tea and the bubu arare garlic chicken sandwich for lunch. The food tasted ok but service was sooooo slow. I waited over over 45 minutes for my sandwich. I went with a group of 4 other people. Service was generally slow for everyone but my order was exceptionally slow. I had to ask about my order more than once. The place is small and didn't seem busy but it looked like the staff was short handed ( one person taking orders and possibly one person in the kitchen). The iced tea took a while since it was brewed to order. I did get a free refill on the iced tea to compensate for the slow service. The place can get really noisy when the cars are being driven inside the Velocity showroom. I've eaten at Artizen when it was at the State Art Museum in Downtown. my bestie and i came here for happy hour and it was okay. i'd give it a 3/10 :/ all the happy hour items were $5-$12, so pricing was good. we got: inari bomb ($9) - sushi rice, shoyu ahi, torched aioli - it was so sweet, it was okay though. steamed dumplings ($9) - mountain view farms pork, ginger scallion soy sauce - tasted like it was frozen tbh, the dumpling skin was tough and the filling was not really juicy either. tempura arabiki corn dogs with garlic aioli ($9) - this was probably the best thing we got LOL. it was basically a very mini corn dog. what could go wrong! kalua pig "pizzadilla" ($12) - mountain view farms pork, flour tortilla, tomato sauce - this one was so salty and it also tasted like frozen pizza. i didn't really enjoy this one. my friend got an espresso martini which was $2 off during happy hour. she said it was good, sweet, didn't taste alcoholic. i got the lemonade, they didn't have any of the syrups i wanted so i got a regular one. service was alright, we didn't feel too welcomed when we came in and when our order was taken. the tables were kinda shaky but it's okay LOL. the ambiance was nice, we were sitting around nice cars which was fun. parking was easy - there's designated spots for artizen guests. read more

We went for the February dinner menu special and we absolutely loved it. I got the steak with polenta fries, it was delicious I didn't think I would like polenta fries that much. My MIL got the Korean plate and the was good too. We did an early dinner so it was quite empty when we got there. The staff was really kind and our food was quick to get to our table. Worst experience. Had a reservation and was treated like a second class citizen. Arrived on time stood in a line of walk ups to get seated at our reserved table of 2. It was happy hour so naturally busy however with just 3 people total running the counter the serving and food we gave it 15 minutes no water so stood up asked if we order at the counter was told no he'll be with you. Another 15 goes by and the waiter never comes. So I figure I'll help them out and order myself at the counter. Then 30 more minutes and still no food, our order goes to another table. I recently tried their monthly 3 course dinner for our group Christmas dinner and enjoyed their offerings. They offered several choices for your appetizer, main dish and dessert, so the special menu appealed to everyone in our group. Thanks Elite Deborah P. for seeing the special menu on their Instagram page and with the help of Elite Nadine C, we had reservations for our group of 8. I was excited to dine in for dinner, because I haven't been there in years and only did take out when they first opened and when they were at the former Downtown location. Parking was my main concern, but there were enough self parking stalls on the ground level just for the Car dealership,, store and Artizen. If you dine in at MW Restaurant, you would need to valet your car up the ramp entering from Ward Avenue. I'm not 100% sure. If there is an event, you may not be able to park at these self parking stalls per someone I've asked. Everyone seemed to liked what they ordered. I really liked their Green Papaya Pork soup, the Mountain View Farms Pork Cutlet in a black pepper gravy with Roasted Kabocha and Vegetables was tasty and gravy was a little spicy. The pumpkin crunch crepe cake was like those layered Mille cake, but it didn't have much of a crunch. Their food is very flavorful and it's a nice place to dine in in a casual setting. Thank you Auntie Nadine for making the reservations for our Christmas get together. I saw a pre fixe meal menu on line and everybody agreed to try it for the price couldn't go wrong. You can chose 1 starter 1 entree and 1 dessert. Everybody seem to enjoy their meal tonight. Missing tonight was our yelper friend Paul C. Few of us good friends decided to check out Artizen by MW for our annual get together for Christmas.It's located on the ground level corner of Ward Ave and Kapiolani Blvd in the Velosity of Honolulu building . That's where they sell all the high end exotic cars . My sister seen this pre-fix menu on social media so we all agreed to check it out . I thought it was going to be located at MW but actually it was downstairs at Artizen. A little casual open dinning area not too much seating so I would recommend reservations. We all enjoyed the Christmas pre-fix menu for only $48 it's well worth it . It's running from Dec 3 -Dec 30 only so check them out . If I wasn't so busy during the holiday I would definitely go back end before it ends. When I got out of the restaurant I was really full very delicious. I ordered their chicken vegetable lumpia for my appetizer which was very tasty and not too oily came with a hoisin dipping sauce . For my entree I got their Seafood Gumbo it include 5 big shrimp, calamari, crab with a light gumbo sauce . I really didn't taste the crab although but it came with a side of white rice . For my dessert I had the pumpkin crunch crepe cake . It had a hint of pumpkin taste layered crepe and in the middle it tastes almost like a bread pudding filling it was good . This is an edited review. I initially wrote that I was disappointed in this restaurant's performance because some of our food did not arrive and the server could not reverse the charge for food we did not get. It wasn't the server's fault. They were doing the best they could. And all restaurants seem to be having staffing issues these days. After several days and phone calls I finally spoke to a restaurant manager. They understood perfectly and was very sorry it took so long for them to respond. Again not his fault as he has been out for personal reasons. He quickly took care of the overcharge. I wish I could give this restaurant a higher score than 3 stars. But then again it seems like management and staffing is an issue here generally. I will continue to patronize this place but with diminished expectations. read more

So this was different. The food quality was good although a little bit pricey for what you're getting. You place your order at the counter. Everything is served in plastic takeout containers and all silverware is plastic. Right off the bat, my knife broke while I was trying to cut my sandwich. Then my ketchup packet wouldn't open lol. Considering lunch came out to $70 for the three of us ( each plate runs between $20-25 plus tax) it was weird to me to pay that much for the same dine in experience I get at McDonalds. Yes the food is obviously better quality however the portion sizes are quite small. It reminds me of somewhere cool people on Ozempic would come to eat. After my friend finished her bento box she looked at me and was like "I'm still hungry"! She's 4'10 and 105lbs. I started cracking up ..... good thing I didn't bring my husband. Had a quick dinner before a concert event. Menu was simple with various take on local fare. Tried the oxtail soup which was described to contain pork belly, corn beef in addition to oxtail. It was surprising tasty which included the peanuts, mushroom and mustard cabbage. It was served with rice, but no grated ginger! Pea shoots was also included instead of cilantro. Came here for a quick lunch after the BIA homeowners building and remodeling show at the Neal Blaisdell. Ordering was fast and easy. We had a seat outside because we wanted to get some sun. A server brought our drinks first and a few minutes later the brought our meal. My boyfriend got the fish and chips. He really enjoyed his meal!! The fish's and chips both came out hot and super crispy!!! I got the shrimp and seafood gumbo. I enjoyed my meal as well. It had the right amount of spice to it. New Happy Hour Review. We came from the IG promotion of new happy hour. I think we came too quick because it seemed a surprise to everyone. Granted the posted dishes were available but it was complete confusion. Not sure where to park, we went to valet But not till 6. Happy hour ends at 6. I wanted to wait out the traffic after my facial appointment and saw this cafe so decided to give it a try on a Thursday afternoon around 4pm. It has nice tables and seating but the ambiance wasn't the most inviting. Some of the cushions were dropped on the floor and water marks were not wiped on the tables from previous guests. Regardless, I had to knock out some work emails so got myself an iced latte and tried their Mochi Crusted Mrs. Cheng's Tofu. I said I would dine there but was served via a takeout container and plastic utensils while another crowd were served silver utensils and proper tableware and glass cups. Maybe a misunderstanding? The latte was good and Tofu was tasty despite the presentation and how it was served. However, would I go back just to eat it? Probably not. Also, there were many fruit flies... Happy Ramen Bowl 2025! Frolic is hosting a week long event with participating restaurants featuring ramen specials across town. Each time you try one, you are one step closer to winning a trip to Japan. The Chinese roast duck ramen at Artizen was amazing! The broth was light yet flavorful and there were generous portions of roast duck and various types of mushrooms. I have been a long time fan of Artizen ever since they were located at the Hawaii State Art Museum. Since moving to their current location in the Velocity Honolulu building underneath their parent restaurant MW, they've got a larger menu and beautiful indoor and outdoor dining space. My favorite menu items are their mochi crusted fish and misoyaki eggplant. They've got a great beer and wine selection with an array of desserts available for dine in and takeout. Every time I visit, I'm reminded that I need to come here more often. The service is great and it's got such an awesome ambiance. Having dined at MW on the 2nd floor and enjoyed the elevated gourmet cuisine it offers, I heard about its sister restaurant, Artizen, a cafe located on the 1st floor. On a recent Thursday, we came with Li Y for dinner here and she has attested to the delicious food offered at reasonable prices. Enter the last driveway on Ward before Kapiolani and park in the spaces marked for Artizen. Artizen is a casual restaurant where you order starters, mains and desserts at the counter and pick up the food when ready to the dining room, which is good sized with many round tables. What we saw was a 3 course prix fixe for $45 with table service. This was a new offering and after checking out the offering, which consisted of three starters, five entrees, and four desserts, we decided to go for it. So that we could get a taste of the various dishes, we each ordered something different for each course. Starters: Crispy Asian Slaw - a Napa cabbage slaw with crispy won ton strips and a soy base vinaigrette Kim Chee Portuguese Bean Soup - with chunks of pork Hot Spinach and Mushroom Dip served with blue corn chips. Li requested more chips and they brought more. Entrees: Mountain View Farms Pork Shank - two large shanks with crispy skin with tomatoes and pea sprouts. Reminded me of crispy pata but with a sauce. It was so filling that I could not finish the dish. Miso Butterfish Karaage - served on a bed of rice with pickled vegetables. Seared Scallops - four large scallops with potatoes, shitake and pea shoots in a lobster sauce Dessert: Strawberry Matcha parfait (special) - with a layer of matcha cake on the bottom, with a layer of strawberry, whipped cream and a scoop of match ice cream on top. We agreed that this dessert was so good. Black Forest Chocolate Cake - we took this to go. It was rich chocolate cake with a whipped cream and cherry topping. Blueberry Yuzu Cheesecake - a round cheesecake topped with fresh blueberries. Our server was friendly and described the dished that were brought to our table. After the dishes were cleared, the next dish was brought out. Overall, we enjoyed our very tasty gourmet food at a casual café atmosphere. My favorite items on the menu are the mochi crusted fish with somen and the spinach & mushroom dip with wonton chips. Their food is pricey but it's about the quality and the taste. If you check their on Instagram, you'll be able to see the food specials and desserts. During Thanksgiving and Christmas is when they offer a large variety of baked good which are great for gift giving. I recommend ordering food online versus in person so you won't have to wait long. I've eaten there a few times and I like sitting inside because of the AC ad you can stare at the fancy cars. There were times where all the inside tables were occupied so we sat outside. Had not been here since it moved from its downtown HISAM location. When it offered a two-day Local Style Mixed Plate all you can load buffet (one pass only), just knew we had to hele on down and check it out. Found street parking on Ward Avenue so it was kismet! Tasting the laulau while feeding the meter! Being a small eater (though it doesn't show lol), I chose the small plate. My dining mate, with larger appetite, chose large plate (no surprise really). Having my priorities, I headed straight for the laulau, which was prepared pan style, so no hassling with ti leaf wrapper. The casual counter service little sibling to the restaurant MW, Artizen provides gourmet level meals at a more affordable price. First off, their desserts and baked goods are stand alone. Every dessert I've ever tried here has been incredible. You can't go wrong with anything chocolate. Their seasonal pumpkin crunch cheesecake is heavenly. For the real food, they have a well appointed menu for lunch/dinner, as well as seasonal offerings. I recently tried their mochi kampachi (so tender. Crispy. Light but filling), beet salad (super crispy veggies. Balanced. Savory dressing), and ox tail soup (incredibly flavorful. Fatty oxtail. Warming.) and was so impressed. It's counter service with an indoor and outdoor dining area inside the Velocity car showroom. Parking can be tough, there's street parking at the Blaisdell as well as parking in the Symphony garage. Decided to come here since I had gotten off work at a decent hour. Just came to have a Pau Hana drink. Ended up ordering off the coursed menu they were offering. We didn't need to order the coursed menu. They allowed us to order items a la carte. We ordered the scallops, miso butterfish karaage, and the apple streusel pie. Everything was delicious. The scallops were served in a lobster bisque/sauce and paired with a vegetable succotash. This dish was so flavorful and the lobster sauce did not overpower the scallops. The miso butterfish karaage was my favorite of the two. It so light and crispy paired with some banchan and rice. The apple streusel pie was a hit with my dad. Haven't been here for a year. It was a pretty reliable and delicious lunch spot. But after this last visit, my mind has been changed. It's turned into a grab and go Café. Where it appears things like salads and desserts and main dishes are already pre-prepared. Things that are made fresh are the drinks, smoothie coffee and fries. We ordered just under $100 worth of food and drinks for lunch and honestly the best thing we had was the fries, which came out quite a bit after everything else because all the other items were already pre-boxed maybe a day or two prior. The meat salad had a rubbery sour spoiled wilted Overall experience. So maybe that was two days old and some of the other items were just mediocre. The desserts were also kind of stale and out of the three desserts we got we only really liked one. Overall, I was surprised to see how busy it was. In August 2024, I ate Artizen's French bistro prix fixe menu for $45. I picked the Croque Madame for my appetizer. It has smoked ham, mornay sauce, and a fried egg from OK Farms. For my entree, I choose Steak Frittes. It is a flank steak from HAPA with garlic butter sauced on top and thin French fries on the side. The dessert, I picked Strawberry Charlotte which had lady fingers, la'le vanilla whip cream and strawberries. The service was great. I love Artizen and MW. That's a caveat. However- we just came for drinks before the Jimmy Yang show. Although we didn't have reservations, it was not standing room only. The female host was unfriendly and didn't want to seat us when others were clearly just having drinks also. First, she claimed she would bring us our drinks and then she decided not to. We went up to get them instead. The person who was nice was the young man who was refilling water at tables. He thanked us and told us to have a good time at the show. To the female host- just because it doesn't look like you're going to get a large tip, you should still be decent to all customers. The pork was very dry and difficult to chew. For the main course I chose the ultimate oxtail soup. The broth was pretty bland and unremarkable. I prefer to have herbs and spices in my broth, and the meat pieces were very large and not easy to chew. No cutting utensils were provided with this course. My husband chose the lobster pasta, it was okay. Its presentation and flavor was lacking. No parmesean cheese, salt or pepper was offered. As far as the dessert, I chose the chose the Dubai chocolate bombe. This was the best part of the meal, but also underwhelming. It was bland and just not the quality I would expect. I opted for a Teri cheeseburger and fries which was on their regular menu and a peach iced tea. When you enter you need to order and pay at the register then find a seat inside or outside. The restaurant is inside a car dealership so it got way too noisy for Conversation many times and they drive the cars and rev the engines loud indoors not far from where you're trying to enjoy your meal. My Teri cheeseburger was good, but it tasted like they refried or over fried the french fries, the insides were hollow and tasted burnt. For the price of $17 I feel I could have gotten a better meal at Teddys burgers, Honolulu burger, or any other place. I have eaten at Artizen several times as well as ordered their special take out bentos for the holidays and like their food. I came again when I went to Hamilton a couple weeks ago. It's so convenient to meet my girlfriend here and have a relaxing lunch before walking over to the Saturday matinee performance. This past visit I had their bento which had a miso glazed kama and pork luau with cabbage. I was a little disappointed since the fish was almost all bone and hardly had a bit of flesh. The pork was tasty though. Before my friend arrived I had some coffee and peanut butter cookies. Previously, I usually have the Mochi Crusted fish which is always tasty. The chocolate cake is to die for and is usually included in their holiday bentos. This review is for their Valentines Dinner (surf and turf) to-go menu only. I'm partway between a 3 and a 4 but since I have had other things from Artizen before, which were good, I'm leaning towards 4. We ordered this to-go menu planning to have a quick bite before the Josh Tatofi concert at the Blaisdell. We hoped to be able to order drinks and extra pupus and sit inside for a quick bite but unfortunately they were offering this menu only and take-out only. Since it was drizzling we ended up eating in the trunk of our SUV (hence the asphalt in my pics). Anything to-go is never as good as eating in person. I think because this particular day was all to-go set menus, they were prepared more in advance than getting true take-out when you order at a restaurant and the meal is cooked right then. These were likely prepared in batches at least a little in advance. There was a car line to be able to do a drive thru pick-up, which was really convenient. The meal came with arancini, green salad, smoked tuna tip, braised short ribs and shrimp and chocolate cake. It was 2 servings for $90. Overall, the food was quality food but due to it being prepared in advance, it lacked the luster you'd want at ordering/eating a nicer meal. Since we were lacking time, next time I'd prefer to get something more casual (i.e. cheaper) than to spend money on something to eat luke warm (at best). read more

New location: across from Neal S. Blaisdell Center (NBC)! If you're looking for a dinner spot or lunch place before a concert or event at the NBC Arena, Concert Hall, or Exhibition Hall, you might want to try Artizen. Artizen used to be on the ground level of the Hawaii State Art Museum in Downtown Honolulu. This restaurant moved to Ward Avenue (although the address is Kapiolani Boulevard). It's right across the street from "The Blaisdell Center"! My friend and I parked on King Street in a metered stall for free after 6:30pm. Knowing that Artizen closed at 7pm, we ordered quickly, took a seat and viewed the cars in the showroom. Yes - Artizen shares a space with Bentleys, Alfa Romeos, and other luxury vehicles... On the street level of Symphony (condominium building). We both ordered the Mochi Crusted Fish. The fish was fresh and moist! The crunchy outer layer was fun! The sauce was a bit strong - I should have dipped the fish into it, rather than pouring it on. The fish sat on a bed of rolled up somen (noodle) balls. I liked the pickled veggies that came with it. Next time, I might get the Twice Cooked Pork Tonkatsu or the Thai Curry. They were closed. Why 5stars? Because the staff, even thought they were closed early for an event for the chefs, they helped me get a take out salad, opened the reg so I could pay, threw in some free chips and let me eat my food without kicking me out. Kaylee and Andre could not have been nicer. Certainly, people come back for great food but I will come back for another try because of the terrific staff. 5 Star Service!!! Simple gestures go a long way! We ordered the prix fixe Mother's Day prepared meal and it did not disappoint. The only item missing was the chocolate cake. I emailed the Manager, Jared Brown, to see if it was possible to pick up the cake the next day. Within a minute he had called us to apologize and personally drive it to our home on the Windward side. How rare is this kind of exceptional customer service these days? We declined, but asked if we would be able to pick it up today and he said no problem! When we picked it up this afternoon they even included a to-go slice of key lime pie with the chocolate cake! Thank you Artizen!! We look forward to returning with friends and family! read more
