Regular pedicure. Kim made my toe bleed during the pedicure. Then their nail polish was clearly too old so the application was bumpy and awful. I asked Kim to remove the polish completely. I paid full price for a pedicure that made me bleed and the guy working there (owner?) had the audacity to say the nail polish applied poorly because my nails weren't smooth, which was a complete lie. I'm a longtime customer and just truly enjoy Amy and Tim. I'm always met with a smile. I feel they are genuinely happy to see me and my daughter every time we walk through the door. Service is always great. I typically get a pedi; my daughter gets fancier services like gel mani/pedis, etc. I've even had luck getting my hubby there for an annual pedi. I highly recommend. If we ever have an issue (like nicking a nail before it's dry) they are so happy to fix it. In fact, they typically insist even if I say it's fine. All of the techs work so hard and want me to be happy when I leave. I'm 20+ years in with them and look forward to 20 more :) read more

I I went in for a gel manicure and though the people working there are incredibly kind. I was not impressed by the cleanliness or the technician's Job. Nails are done a little sloppily, the edges are rough to the touch, she nicked my fingers several times leaving me with a few few cuts on my fingers. The most cringy part of my experience was the cleanliness of their tools. Notice. They do not sanitize in between customers at all! The tools themselves and the pads that you rest your hands during manicure are disgusting. The light that cures your nails.... Please sanitize items that are used on customers between use!!! Almost a year ago when my regular salon wasn't living up to their potential anymore I was seeking a new salon and found this one thought I'd try it out and I've been a regular ever since!! Tim is absolutely amazing there isn't anything I've asked him to do with my nails that he hasn't been able to do and I always leave completely in love with my nails the atmosphere is clean and friendly the staff is great and yes sometimes there is a wait especially if your a walk in but perfection takes time and it's well worth the wait the prices are always reasonable and the work is phenomenal I absolutely love this salon highly recommend it read more

I've only ever gotten my nails done twice in my life so I've always been nervous about getting them done. We called 40 min and asked if they could fit us and in they immediately said yes! I went with SNS and acrylic tips and I am in love. I always worry my nail technician will rush and not care but Tim took his time and even made sure to fix every flaw in my nail that I so clumsily ruined during my session. On June 6, 2023, around noon, the Manger at Essence Spa began giving me a manicure. I said to him, " you really don't like black people". He immediately got irate and started yelling, saying "WHY DID YOU ASK ME THAT."...while pointing his finger toward his forehead he said "ALL YOU PEOPLE ARE SICK IN THE HEAD." I sat there SHOCK. I told him square round and as short as he can get. Every nail is a different thickness, length, and shape. Anna rushed through my pedicure then sent me to Tim for a full set of acrylics. Tim's station was in the front and while filing my nails he kept looking away! He was more focused on what was going on in the salon than actually doing my nails. He was extremely rough with the file ( I guess bc he was rushing) I was so nervous when he was using the nail drill to file my acrylics because he kept looking away causing him to over file the nails on my thumb and two other fingers which was extremely painful. I will say that they were very busy however that is not an excuse for slopiness. My fill in took literally 20 minutes...that is just way to fast to do it right. Anna usually does my nails, I've been going there for several month a snow ask for her. She does an awesome job on my nails and they never lift on me. All was going well until an older tech tried to tell me to not sit near my friend, though the nail tech working on my friend said I could. I decided to ignore the older woman and sit where the younger tech showed me. The older woman kept giving me the evil eye whenever she would get up to bring a tool back for her customer and invaded my space. Not only that, but she insulted my friend. After receiving a call from her family, my friend began speaking in Spanish. The older tech got mad and told my friend to stop speaking in Spanish. When my friend asked, "What," the tech said it again as if my friend couldn't speak English. It was one of the most insulting and hurtful things I've ever heard. Because the tech was Asian, and she spoke her language to other techs, it was even more hurtful. Why would you criticize one person for speaking their language when you're doing the exact same thing? The store was disappointing after that moment. If that woman didn't speak to my friend the way she did, I would not be leaving this rating. Whether you decide to go here is ultimately your decision. This is just a buyer beware for the older pedicure tech. Be careful. You can't call yourself family to customers if you treat them with such bigotry and disrespect.
