Look at the picture attached. YESTERDAY, on Saturday night, by about 6 pm I had this dip-powder manicure done in this Serinity Nails & Spa salon on Red Bank road, Cincinnati, OH. And the next morning, the top coat is already peeling off! So, it did NOT last even ONE day!? And I did not do any work about the house overnight. I returned to this salon the next day, yet they were closed. I called them by phone, but they did not reply, nor had their voice-mail set. My thumb nail on the other hand got inflamed, so I have to apply antibiotic. The manicurist hurt me using her own nails instead of instruments for scratching off some varnish, which she carelessly applied under my nail. I was stunned and speechless! Moreover, though I had scheduled this appointment for 5 pm and arrived on time, I had to sit and wait for about 20-30 minutes before they came up to me. Conclusively, I will need to find a better quality salon now. And I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I know I go on and on about how great Fashion Nails in Eastgate is, but the nail tech who has done my last mani/pedi didn't do the best job. I desperately needed my nails done and I was in Hyde Park. I didn't want to go all the way to Eastgate and possibly get the same person who messed up the last time. I'm extremely confrontational except when it comes to my nails - I don't want to hurt anyones feelings! So off I went to Serenity salon. In addition to be miles closer to my location at the time, I used to go to Serenity prior to Fashion. There wasn't some awful breakup or anything. I just wanted to find a nail salon closer to my house. I'd always been impressed with them. I walked in and was able to be sat almost immediately. There are an even amount of nail tables and pedi chairs so everyone is spread out evenly. I was sat with a woman who began to take off my current SNS polish. I was ecstatic they offered SNS, and truthfully, had they not, I would have ended up going to my normal salon. She didn't seem super well-versed on how to properly take off the polish. I ended up switching nail techs right after that. I think they were just tag teaming, but I wasn't a huge fan of the switcheroo. However, he did seem to know how to take off the SNS polish much better. The gentleman wasn't exactly the friendliest, but damn did he do a good job. He was very thorough and exact with the coatings - something that can't be said for the last nail appointment I had. I'm very pleased with how they turned out. They don't have a lot of SNS coloring options, but they had the exact shade I was looking for. If I'm in the area and I don't feel like driving to Eastgate, I wouldn't hesitate to go to Serenity. The salon is clean, they're reasonably priced, and my nails look great! read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon for a pedicure. I did not make an appointment, so I knew what was expected, a long wait. Waited for 15 minutes before I sat to soak my feet. I was sitting there for almost 30 minutes. I was alittle aggrevated because the water was getting cold, but the staff was accomodating and apologized (they let me know that someone will be with me shortly and changed the temperature of the water). So I just sat and enjoyed the chair massage. When they did get to me, they did a great job and I was very pleased. I wanted the OPI Crackle which is $3.00 extra, so I paid $36.00 dollars + Tip, which isn't bad. Place is really clean. Lesson learned, I will make sure to make an appointment next time I come back. Walk ins are welcome but use common sense that when you come in a Friday or Saturday that it will be busy and there will be a wait. read more

I hate to write reviews, but I felt I needed other people to be aware of what they did to my nails... I went in for a fill in, she told me my nails we're peeling so it was best for me to get a full new set. So, I took her advise, she didn't soak my nails in anything, just started ripping the acrylic off using clippers. It was SO painful. She ripped my right hand ring finger nail completely off and it started bleeding! (This was my first time ever getting a fill in so at first I kept telling myself beauty is pain) then she starts putting new acrylic over my bleeding finger. Needless to say, I now have the WORST infection on my finger (I will try to upload a picture). I will never ever go back. read more

The first time and only time I came here was 8 yrs ago I remember not being sure what I wanted and a man came over and helped me pick a polish with the perfect glitter polish for an accent nail. I remember thinking he had a good eye. There is no reason I never went back I just worked next to a good nail salon at the time and thats where I have been going for the last 8 years. But now I don't work there anymore and the salon I once loved is changing. Their prices are higher, they quoted me a lot lower than what I was actually charged and even though its only been a year my nail guy doesn't even recognize me anymore. What used to feel like Cheers now feels like Mars. So I chose a salon closer to home for my most recent experience and this one is it. When I walked into Serenity I wanted a full set with tips SNS and a pedicure with gel polish. They were unaware how long I wanted them and didn't have time to do both but that's totally my fault for coming in so late. For my pedicure I had Rose and she was so friendly and sweet. I adored her and my feet look amazing and she did not disappoint with the massage she took her time and I loved my experience. So I did not hesitate to be patient and come back the next day for the gentleman (owner) to do my fingernails. Rose was inexperienced for what I was looking for so she referred me to him. He was quiet at first and just seemed to be focusing on the task at hand (I eventually got him talking but respect his determination to stay focused and do a good job). It has now been 3 weeks and my nails still look pretty good. They aren't even lifting. Usually by now I am dying to get them redone and even if I am not quite ready as soon as I run my fingers through my hair I change my mind because usually at this point my hair gets stuck under the SNS and these nails aren't even doing that. My go-to nail salon! It's a convenient location, always clean, and staff is friendly. They take their time which can be a negative if you are in a hurry, but they do a great job. No timers that make you feel rushed like other salons. My only 2 complaints are the color selection isn't always the newest/largest. And there was a young gentleman working there over the summer that is not skilled. I make sure to call ahead and make an appointment with my favorite person. Otherwise, it's great! This place is so close to me and I wanted to love it. However, a few days after I got my shellac polish changed, two of the nails started coming up on the corners. Stopped in to get them fixed and the tech gave me a hard time, accusing me of peeling them off (insert eye roll here). And now a few days after that, one of those nails is coming off again and a nail on the other hand is loose. I have been going here off and on for almost two years. Always had a nice experience, and the staff is always friendly. I went in less than a week ago for the SNS nail polish and was so excited. The guy was telling me it would last so much longer than gel and it was better for my nails....yeahhhh, the polish has all popped off, as if I had acrylics on for too long! I often come here because it's closer to me. But after coming a few times I just enjoyed the atmosphere. It is relaxed and the people are friendly and kind. They play a radio station that has the best music and I feel so good while I'm here. A lot of nail salons irritate me by pressuring or forcefully suggesting I get a pedicure when I just want a polish change. But this place may suggest another service they offer but there is no awkward pressure with it. Everyone is friendly and they aim to satisfy each client. I have never really had a long wait here and they offer a great special Mon-Wed which I like to take advantage of. Just yesterday I got my nails done but soaking off the acrylic took longer than expected so I ran out if time. I decided to keep my nails bare, but she told me to come back for polish. Today I arrived and she had my color waiting for me and I did not have to wait. Great place, great people, great service! read more

I came here to get my nails done after my awful experience at Escape nail salon. Angela C recommended it to me and boy was I thankful! They were able to seat me right away and did an excellent job fixing my nails. When I asked if they could do eyebrow waxing, they said this location didn't, but pointed me in the direction of their Mariemont location, so I headed over! They have the same owner just different stores and they were also able to take me right away. Apparently, someone from the Red Bank location had actually called over to let them know I was on my way. I just left this salon and when I say I have never been more satisfied I mean it! the service was exceptional. I was seated within 5 minutes of arriving for a pedicure. I was hesitant to go because I read the reviews first but I am so glad I decided to go. My feet have never felt so soft. The man that worked on me made sure to give extra care to my heels (which I loved). I wasn't rushed and it was very relaxing! This is now my new go-to place. I don't always plan ahead when I want a pedicure so I like that they offer walk-ins although depending on staff and current demand, it is hard to know how long you might wait. The facility is nice, clean and bright. They only noise seems to come from other customers chatting on their phones, which I can see annoys the workers but they don't say anything. The thing that I like most about this place is it open at 9am on Saturdays and most seem to think they open at 10am, which I'm completely cool with since I'm up early on the weekends. I would not recommend this facility they are so unprofessional. Every time I schedule an appointment they never get to me on time. They are super lazy. I went to get my polish fixed and the guy said to wait until 5pm it was 3 ok. I asked is there no one else to do my polish vs havibgto wait until 5pm for the lady that normally does my nails. However, the guy to me they did not have anyone right now and they were busy. When I came in I saw the guy who did my toes and knows how to do nails in the chair laid back on his phone. However, I was unpleasantly surprised when the bill came. A basic pedicure is almost $40. While the staff is friendly, they took their time chatting amongst themselves and with other customers. If it wasn't so expensive I wouldn't mind the service. If you're on a budget or tight on time, I would not recommend this salon. read more

They do a typical pedicure for a low-end mani pedi shop, but it will take twice as long-- my pedicure just took 2 hours!!! They seat you quickly and then rotate through double the number of customers as workers by leaving you sitting for 10-15 minutes while they work on someone else. You can get the same pedicure for the same price in half the time somewhere else. read more

Went for a gel manicure. I made an appointment and was told it would only take 45 minutes and i was on a time crunch. I was there for almost 1.5 hours and they did an awful job. The colors were very different from the samples, and the polish came out clumpy. My friend also got a gel manicure and her polish chipped off an hour after she left. Very disappointed. Probably the messiest french manicure I've ever had. The girl doing it was young and seemed to be more concerned with looking at herself in the mirror than making a clean line. One of the nails was so off that I had to ask someone else to fix it. She also accidentally undercharged me but told me not to worry about it, so at least there's that... They also did my friend's acrylics for her wedding; before she left, the woman who did her nails looked at them and said they didn't look good and she did a bad job. I went to this so-called Nail Salon on a Tues., Feb. 18, 2014 and it was the WORST service I've ever gotten as a nail salon and I am go to various places BUT WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS ONE OR RECOMMEND IT. BEWARE, they have a promotion for a $40 mani and pedi, its usually in an effort to gain more customers so I would thinK they'd want to make a good impression. The nail tech. I got was so incompetent, I would NOT be surprised if she was working under a fraud license. She had no skills in buffing, filing, massaging, she could hardly follow instructions as far as color selection and I had to tell her to put on a top coat so I refused the manicure combo deal and they charged me anyway at regular price and I got no apologies. I came in with two friends to get a mani/pedi. The place is nice overall, but could use a bit of a facelift. The chairs are comfortable, but worn (the backs are peeling on almost all of the chairs, and the screen on my remote didn't work) and the nail stations are clearly rather old, with the armrests peeling. The woman who did my mani/pedi rushed through the pedicure part, and I was done a full 10 minutes before either of my friends. My heels are still rather rough, too. During the manicure, the woman kept checking her phone which was rather annoying and distracting. She did do a good on the shellac, though. I stopped in for a full set of nails and even tho I did not have an apt, they took me within 5 minutes. One of the ladies began the service, but was soon asked to do another customer. I was left with an older gentleman to finish my nails. He was fairly distracted during most of his work. I asked several times for the nails not to be so thick. My experience here was a mixed bag. I usually left the salon with my nails and toes looking great, but promises about prices were not kept & service could often be rude. I first came to get a French manicure with acrylics for my wedding. The technician wasn't going to paint over the clear acrylic nail with air-brushed tip with a light pink or cream color to give it a true French manicure look, even when I asked, & she got visibly irritated that I wanted this look, to the point of rolling her eyes, snatching my hand & throwing her materials around roughly. Within a few days, while on my honeymoon, the entire nails started to pill up and peel off. I've had acrylics before & never had this happen. I didn't bother to complain later figuring I'd get the run around & it didn't matter at that point as by that time I'd scraped off a whole layer of the peeling acrylic to make it appear even & not so raggedy. When I got home, I decided to get the acrylics off & switch to gel manicures to cover up my roughed up nail base for a few months. I specifically asked when the time came to remove the last gel manicure (when I'd decided I no longer wanted to have another one put on) would there be a cost to take off the gel manicure. I was told NO. So, of course I was charged $15 when the time came. I argued about it, noted what I'd been told but no one cared. Haven't been back. read more
