This season I decided to use an older pair of my skis. My old bindings were not an option to continue to use. I picked out different bindings. There was a bit of a problem with the new bindings. Sam in the repair shop communicated some details that were a bit of a hinderance. The bindings needed to be moved a wee bit forward due to previous mountings. Sam's professionalism and excellent communication, the issues were resolved very in an excellent manner. I'm LOVING skiing on my older skis. I have a new go to ski shop in Denver. Had an issue with the sole pads on my ski boots that would have made them useless. After hours of hitting ski shops and searching the world on the web for a replacement kit or similar boot for parts to avoid trashing my beloved boots, I called Eskimo. They had a deep supply of spare parts to repair a wide range of equipment and they found the part I needed. They had the boots fixed in 20 minutes. We rented skis and snowboards respectively for the first time at this shop. Chase really helped us out, was kind, and explained everything so we felt ready. Went riding today and had no problems, everything was comfortable and fit well. Value is great too, all together under $110 (for 2 pairs of boots, skis, snowboard, poles, 2 helmets) for a day which beats out ski resort rentals any day. This is a cute mom and pop ski rental shop. I take my family here. Once you are in the system, rentals are fast. The first time takes a little longer, but same story anywhere. The skis I rented were freshly tuned, I could tell the stone had been dressed recently. I used to work at two ski shops and both owners were a bit miserly about dressing the stone, because it would wear faster. So I always appreciate seeing a nice flat surface with a crisp pattern. The store hours are hard for me as a working stiff. I'm writing this review while parked in front of their closed store at 9:47 AM. Their hours are 10-6 weekdays. Christie's are 10-7. A slot in the door for drop offs would be great addition. Some shops have them. I don't mind the lady at the front, she's been friendly to me. Knocking off a star only because I couldn't return my skis for two days because of my work schedule not lining up with their hours. I'll ask for some relief on the late fees and will add the star back if I get some. 100% my fault though, and they could have rented my skis to other people so business is business! read more

We rented skis and boots for the season and were pretty happy. I had to return the first skis and boots that I rented there as they were both too big. As I am not a pro it made my first time out this year a bit of a challenge. The second set was much better. The guy that helped me the first time told me he didn't ski but was a snowboarder. Maybe that's why I ended up with the wrong size equipment? The next guy that helped me seemed to know what he was doing. We've worked with Eskimo now for the last four or five years and absolutely love them. We've done day rentals, season rentals, and purchases and all have been top notch. They are always friendly, knowledgeable, and their prices are fair. It can be a little hectic (pre-COVID) in the basement when there's a push before a weekend but they're always patient and communicative with everyone. If you know that going in then you're prepared. I specifically decided to pay more to get my rentals here because of the great reviews on Yelp, but it was very overrated. Yes, Eskimo does pay more attention to you because they'll size you, but if you've rented before, you probably already know your size, so they don't actually add much value. I came in at 4PM on a Friday and had to wait because everyone was already with a customer. When someone got to me, he was so slow. Every time the phone rang, he'd be gone for at least 5 minutes. So somehow, I was walking out the door 45 minutes after I came in. When I got sized, all the newer equipment had already been rented out, so I got stuck with the crappy old skis. I came to loathe how heavy they were as I hauled them back and forth on the bus and up the slopes. Also, the edges hadn't been sharpened recently and I had a hard time turning on the slopes. Maybe my experience was unusual, but when I called the day before, the man I spoke to told me not to rent at other places because I'd get old equipment. But that's exactly what I got at Eskimo Ski and Board. Next time, I'll be going to Christy Sports. read more

I discovered Eskimo when I needed my skis tuned on short notice. Sports Authority quoted me two weeks at best. Eskimo offered 24 hours. Guess who is still around... The bootfitter here was able to solve the riddle of my sore feet in my brand new Atomic boots with some wedges for the balls of my feet. He saved my boots from being thrown in the trash. On top of all that, they offer season rentals! If I still worked in the area, they would still be my go to shop. If they are convenient, they should be yours. read more

Buyer beware, discounted items are not returnable. I have loved to support local businesses, but Eskimo Ski has me really questioning that. Bought a board and had a change of opinion. Tried to return it the next day only to be told they dont accept returns on sale items. Let me be clear, the prices here are fair. But keeping a sale at the cost of losing continued business doesnt seem like a way to stick around. Again, i will add that their prices are great and i managed to resell the board. But definitely a hassle that buying elsewhere would have avoided. It isnt always possible to get a good feel for what your are getting when you're at the store, so the return policy makes this a no go for me. read more

Their ski tech Rawson is by far the best at tuning boards!! I've been snowboarding 25 seasons & average 70 days. He does the best tunes by far! I'm 6'8" and need extra inserts to widen my stance (most shops & techs don't have the skill or knowledge to do this). In previous years when using another shop ( which I still respect) the inserts would come out after 10 or less days of riding. Once I started going to Eskimo & using Rawson I've had no problems! He is very knowledgeable about skis & boards, whether it's the brand you're using or want to try out, your style of riding or where to go ride. I think these guys are great. I came in a few weeks ago to pick out my rental skis for the season. I knew what I was looking for, and got some great help from Frank. I love that you can switch your skis mid-season if you want to try something different. I haven't skied on my rentals yet this season, but I of course did some review reading of the ones I selected and think I'll be really happy with my choice. The staff here is great and very willing and eager to help. I can't speak to the expertise of really anyone but Frank since I was only getting skis and we were talking pretty specific stuff, but he was awesome all the same. We just moved to Denver and needed to purchase Ski boots for the upcoming season. At first we headed to Sports Authority where they had great prices but proceeded to leave within five minutes after the salesman was making fun of my wife because she didn't know all of the ski equipment terminology. After finding Eskimo Ski and Board shop on http://cityvoter.com we went there to check it out. It turns out that not only was the service top notch but their prices seemed to match any price that we could find online. After an hour and half of working with the head salesman Frank, my wife finally had new ski boots, complete with custom inserts to help her foot pronate correctly. Friendly, knowledgeable, wonderful customer service. After the sad realization that I had somehow lost the entire toe strap on one of my snowboard bindings (and was going snowboarding again in 2 days), I called up Eskimo and spoke with Mike. Before I even asked, he offered to do a temporary fix while they ordered the exact part I needed replaced. When I took my board in, Mike ended up snagging the part from a new set of bindings and said they would just order another one instead of setting me up with a temp and having to come back a second time to pick up the true replacement. Not only that, Mike spent several minutes tuning up the bindings and making some adjustments, as well as giving me some really helpful info about the bindings and what I should check, etc. Frank was also helping out with the process and I just really had a great experience with them both. Will absolutely come here again for other snowboarding needs. Support our local shops! read more

Tremendous ski shop. Came in here after a horrible experience at Colorado Ski and Golf (waited over 30 minutes for help and got none). Was nice to walk into a shop, be greeted with a "hello, can I help you", and get tremendous service thereafter. I'm a beginner skier and have been renting for a while. Decided it was time to invest in my own boots, skis, and poles. When I've rented, I've been told I have a very tough boot size to fit (small, wide feet --- Thanks mom and dad!!!). Frank helped me and did quite a number to ensure I had the proper boot fit. He also noticed one foot was slightly different from the other, so he put in some special inserts and a wedge to compensate. Feet feel tremendous. He was also very forthright and searched for deals when he had them. He brought out a boot that was a season old (but new) --- and was 50% off. He also found some skis that were going to help me advance that came with bindings. He threw in the poles at a major discount (I didn't realize the discount until after the fact!). All-in, I paid $900 for really nice boots, skis, and poles. I expected to pay significantly more, and will be back to support this great local shop in the future. Just a note --- all of the ski goodies (boots, skis, poles) are DOWNSTAIRS in the shop. The top floor is for clothing only (so don't be miffed --- read some signs and head downstairs if you need the good stuff). read more

I love this place!!! I ski 2-3 times a year, so it makes sense for me to rent instead of buy. The people at Eskimo are so friendly and helpful, they have great products, and their prices are great ($28 for skis, boots, and poles), especially for a 1 day rental! They really know what they're talking about. Also, if you rent you don't have to bring your skis back until 1 pm the NEXT day (say you rent all Friday, you bring them back by 1 pm Saturday) which is really nice so you don't have to rush down the mountain to get your skis back on time. Overall a great local shop, would definitely recommend. If you've been before, you can also just call in and request to rent the same as last time so you don't even have to wait in line! I'm a first timer from 1500 miles away, and the staff was very cool, sized everything properly and explained all the gear carefully to make sure I understood how to get it on/off and how to use it properly. They showed me how to do it and explained the ins and outs of my bindings. I have been boarding for over 15 years and I learned a ton in the 20 minutes that I was there.
