I left my saddle on consignment in October 2017. I was never told that it sold...I happened to ask when I stopped in for something else in spring 2018. I was told it sold for a little over $500, but the paper work was in the wrong binder so they would leave it for the owner to call me. I never heard back. I have since called at least once a month and am always told the same thing, "the paperwork is in the owner's office and she isn't in, but they will leave my name and phone number for her to call". I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A CALL BACK. A sales associate told me that if someone doesn't pick up their money after their item sells within a year they forfeit the profit to the store. I have tried to call repeatedly with no call back from the owner. I am worried she will claim it has been over a year and not give me my money. I feel as though they have taken advantage of me and stolen from me. As a social worker in Denver $500+ is a lot of money. DO NOT TRUST THEM. read more

Good tack shop. My wife is the horse rider, but I get dragged around to various horse-related businesses. I know this tack shop has a lot of English tack and supplies, but my memory is a little foggy on the Western tack. The Tack Shack has a great service for cleaning and mending horse blankets - totally worth it to have someone else deal with that horrible cleaning chore. I've talked with the owner several times and I really like her. She gave me good advice on good and bad stables in the area. read more

This shop has a good selection of your basic stuff, so if you're in Littleton and in a bind, I'd shop there. However, if you are looking for something specific and need assistance, I would not recommend this store. I was a customer for a several years and the products that I bought there have been fine, but when shopping for a saddle I had a very negative experience when I didn't want to buy a saddle that did not fit my horse. I followed all of the trial rules and returned the saddle right away, but the owner was very rude to me because I wanted to shop around to find a saddle that correctly fit my horse. When she thinks that you are going to spend money, the owner is extremely nice, but if you have an issue, or want to price shop, etc. she can be very confrontational. In comparison to other local tack shops, this is very poor service. Bottom line, the products are fine and not too much more expensive than other local shops, however, do not go for a great customer service experience. read more

If you're up for the poorest customer service experience you've ever had in your life- this is your place! The owner is an absolute joke and the way she conducts business is just ridiculing and pathetic. Not once did I have a single satisfying customer service experience within the miserable 6 months I was contracted with her. Both being from Texas I would have thought she would've had more class to her but the only thing she seemed to process was racial remarks and poor business management not to mention her stuck up attitude that would throw Kim K for a loop. I first came here upon reading rave reviews with the intention of selling two medium quality saddles that were roughly worth 1,500 a piece. The owner marked them up considerably but had absolutely no knowledge on my arc de triumph or what it was worth. Being in a business that is detrimental to knowing quality products and being able to price them and/ or select like products immiedatly gave me the wrong impression but seeing as I had already signed the three month contract I just said nothing and gave her the benefit of the doubt. My bad. My arc de triumph sold quickly (month 2) due to the simple fact it was a quality saddle not because of any "marketing strategy" she drew up. However, when I was notified that it did sell I was told the owner was out sick so the check could not be cut until she returned to work. 2 weeks went by and then 3. Still no check. I made back to back phone calls until the check was finally cut and I was able to pick it up. My Pessoa stayed for about 4 months with repeated trials and no sale so I finally went to pick it up on my own desgression. The only thing this lady has going for her is her ability to talk fast and use big words that make novice riders or horsemen think she's legit. Don't let her southern accent fool you, she's not the saint she makes herself out to be. Save yourself the time and heartache and take your business somewhere else. I am an avid small business supporter but this business doesn't even deserve the one star I rated it. I'd like to see this place go out of business. read more

Don't expect easy or encouraging customer service unless you are fortunate enough to stop by when Lauren is there. The little I've encountered with this shop has been uncomfortable. I would never discourage anyone from exploring here, especially if you are in dire need of something, however, I would go in with the understanding that there might be some frustrations or difficulties in the experience, especially with saddles. Everyone has their opinion though, and I believe in trying to help local businesses. My two cents; keep the bar low. Purchasing anything as substantial as a saddle should be a thrill and and an experience. There likely won't be excitement on your investments, which is deflating. What a wonderful place with wonderful staff! I took my 8 year old daughter to get ready for her venture into formal horseback riding, and they took complete care of us. From the minute we walked in the door, Katie gave us her undivided attention. She directed us to everything we needed, keeping our budget in mind. She gave us a 5 minute safety talk when we selected the helmet, and found us an incredible deal on leather paddock boots. Lauren is the only associate I had positive interaction with; she is perfectly sweet, vibrant, and helpful. That's the most positive thing I can say in regards to customer service at this shop. Regarding product selection: for such a small shop, they have really competitive prices and a great selection of products. Overall: a nice spot to grab some quick essentials, but if you're on the market for a consignment saddle, don't consider taking any on trial yourself unless you deal with Lauren, who is super kind and helpful. Otherwise they truly aren't happy to let you try saddles if they don't feel like they had enough presence in the fit process, and once you've tried a couple saddles without any luck with a good fit, they'll actually "ban" you from trying any more saddles in the future. Moral of the story: unless you want this shop to be your saddle-fitting gospel, they are not interested in letting you figure out what works best for your own horse; otherwise the Tack Shack is a nice one-stop shop for tack/grooming essentials. read more

Since I ride both Western and English, the Tack Shop is where I come to buy accessories for English tack. A lot of English tack must be bought in separate pieces so the owner is extremely helpful by telling you where to spend your money and where to save it. They have used equipment and show clothes which is a plus for someone who just wants to have fun and look cute at the same time. This shop also has a great repair service and is currently repairing a bridle that someone broke the first day they wore it. Overall wonderful customer service. read more

I always find something new and old here in this gem! They have a solid inventory of new supplies and clothing upstairs and a constantly changing supply of gently used inventory downstairs as you can SELL back your equipment to this shop! I've gotten 3 pairs of riding boots, half chaps, riding pants and a gear bag for my daughter as there isn't a store like this in San Diego, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Los Angeles or Salt Lake City...believe me, I've looked! Tack Shack is my favorite Equstrian shop. They have both English and Western tack at reasonable prices. They also have a wonderful blanket selection for our crazy Colorado weather, and usually they are on sale! The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about equiptment and products sold there. I ride western, but the clothes there are so cute, I typically can be seen wearing cute breeches and tops from stylish makers. I love the Tack Shack! read more

I just had some blankets done and they under charged me forget a large repair when I called Lyn told me to forget it . It was 20 bucks I told her no I pay for what I get. any way next time I was in the store tried to pay her manager told me not to worry . Horrible service I bought I pair of $100+ boots from the store but they didn't have my size so they were to be shipped to my house within 5 days. I waited a week and they never came so I called the company and the owner told me she would call the warehouse they were coming from and find out where they were and would call me right back. Three days later I called again because she never called me back. She told me she was busy that she had a story about my boots and would call me back in 5 seconds. I called back another 3 hours later still hadn't heard from her and now the mysterious owner was no longer home. I told them to have her call me when she got back in another 4 days went by called back again and the owner is now out of town. Still have no clue where my boots are or does anyone else in that store except for the owner who refused to contact you. Finally I just called my credit card company and told them to cancel everything on the charge. They also told me the owner doesn't have a cell phone or any sort of phone near her that she would be able to at least call me and tell me where my stuff it. They also don't have the number of the warehouse only the owner does. And they don't have a computer or know the name or the warehouse they get they're products from. Only the owner does. This place is sketchy. I thought it was awesome at first, thought the people were nice but they don't know anything about what you order. read more

I love the Tack Shack. I have been shopping there for years. The owner will go out of her way to find just what you want. She will special order it for you if she does not have the item. The selection is wonderful, mostly English, but some Western there A&s well. The basement is always fun to go down there and find a real bargain. Lots of blankets at fair prices. Great little shop! Both gals I've met that work there have been both friendly and helpful. I bought some Kerrits tights that ended up being too small and I was easily able to exchange them for a different style and size upon recommendations from Lynn(?). Though not a huge selection, they carry all the basics and the convenience factor in terms of distance to both Denver and the barn on West Bowles far exceeds driving out to dover. I have been terribly disappointed by the service offered at your store. The first situation happened when I brought in my horses blankets to be washed and repaired. I came in to pick them up and was presented with a $200.00 bill. There were three blankets that I brought in. I was never informed that it would cost that much. Had I known, I wouldn't have had them repaired. I could have purchased brand new ones for that price. Secondly, I wanted to purchase two pairs of Cavalo boots for my horse. My husband was purchasing them for my Christmas present. We did our homework and found "The Tack Shack" offered the best price for the boots. We went to purchase the boots on Dec 15th only to find they didn't have any in my horses size. The young gal wrote down what I needed and said they would be ordered for me. I waited for two weeks, (after Christmas) and never heard anything about the boots. I decided to contact the store and see if they had arrived yet. I spoke with another young lady who said she didn't see them but wasn't willing to even look to see if they had been ordered. After encouraging her to investigate, she told me they were there. My husband and I drove across town the next day to pick them up only to be told they weren't there. After some intense inquiry, we were told perhaps they had been put out on the shelf and had already been sold. I spoke with a lady who claimed to be the assistant manager about the situation. I expressed my disappointment that the boots were supposed to be my Christmas gift. She then checked their order list and found they had never been ordered. She promised to take care of the situation and personally deliver them to my house to make things right. That never happened. I called the following week to see if the order had been placed only to be told they didn't know anything about it. I left a message for the owner of the store to please call me. Nothing. I waited several days to give her time to return my call. I called again, left a message for the owner to return my call. Nothing. I waited another four days, still no response. My husband called to inquire about the boots since I obviously wasn't getting anywhere. He spoke with a young girl who didn't even know what they were. Consequently, we ordered them through another company who wanted our business. It's very disappointing to see the lack of service from this store. I knew the previous owner and he would never have treated any of his customers in this fashion. He was upfront about the cost of repairs for blankets if they exceeded a reasonable price to fix...he made sure the orders were taken care of, or if it wasn't possible to order an item, he let you know. After my recent experience, I would not recommend The Tack Shack for purchases. I would recommend Dover or the company we went through to order the boots. Dover supports their products and is very willing to provide good service. read more
