I only ever do reviews for establishments when I think they are absolutely PHENOMENAL, and this place is one of them. My mom heard about them through social media, and knowing that my girlfriend and I are obsessed with escape rooms she quickly booked. Let me start off by saying that my favorite thing about this place is that no matter how many people you book with, they reserve the room EXCLUSIVELY for you. Since there's only three of us, it is usually beyond expensive to reserve private experiences (here in NYC, usually upwards of $300, which would mean $100 each). But the alternative is having to be put with random strangers, which is reaaaally not fun. Here at escapology it was an extremely reasonable rate per person, and you automatically get the entire room. I can't say this enough - this policy is simply the best. We've done our fair share of escape rooms, and I have to say that the waiting room design/interior decorating is the best I've ever seen. I had to take photos because I was so impressed. And finally, the games. We booked for the murder mansion because it was the hardest and we love a challenge. The production value was very high, and the puzzles definitely differed enough to keep us on our feet. We did escape, but we definitely used a couple of hints! You don't have to use hints if you don't want to, we just prefer to use them in our games. Afterwards, our game master let us know that it's 20% off if you book another room for any time in the future before you leave!! Such an awesome deal!! We loved it so much that we booked it for later that same day. We chose lost city, which we honestly found to be equally as challenging as murder mansion (but in a great way). The production value on this one was spectacular as well. All in all, we will definitely be coming back to play the rest of their rooms, and HIGHLY recommend this to anyone we know! We had our Christmas Party at ESCAPOLOGY and the entire experience was just AMAZING!! The private party rooms were well equipped and comfortable. They even have Arcade games inside the party rooms and waiting area/Lobby which is pretty cool. The room we played "Lost City" was a little bit difficult and Challenging, but that's what makes it so much fun. We were able to solve it before time expired. That's the whole point to work together as a Team. It was a great "Teambuilding activity". We had so much fun and we can't stop talking about it. We will be back to play the other rooms!!! read more

My hubby and I have been to a handful of escape rooms and have always had a blast! Escapology in Trumbull was one of our favorite escape room experience. From the waiting room to the game room, the experience was truly immersive. As a team of four (including my in-laws), we played The Lost City, which had the perfect mix of puzzle types that really made us think on our feet. The lighting and props were very appropriate for the theme of the game. My heart was racing during the entire game and there was a constant sense of urgency to complete all the puzzles in time. We did finish with a few clues from our wonderful game master Noelle. We had so much fun we decided to do it again the following night. With Noelle's recommendation, we did the Budapest Escape. The room was absolutely stunning, and I felt transformed into the era of the crime story. Budapest Escape was fun though different from the traditional escape room in that you're tasked primarily in solving a murder mystery rather than in escaping the room. For newbies, I would recommend Lost City. Overall Escapology was excellent and we're already planning our next visit! read more

A group of friends and I went last week and had a great time! It was pretty difficult; without hints from Janice (our very helpful game master) we wouldn't have gotten as far as we did. This place is awesome. I highly recommend. We purchased a groupon on sale so it was a great deal, but I would pay full price. We completed the lost city with 50 seconds left on the clock--it was intense! The lost city is medium difficulty and I definitely underestimated it. If you haven't done an escape room before I would start with the easiest no matter how smart you think you are. We barely completed the medium difficulty room, we should have started with the easiest just to get a good idea of how the game works. Our family will be back next month to take on the mansion murder. read more

We went for my daughter's 14th birthday and girls had a blast! They were engaged and really into finding the treasure! Great for curious minds and people out for something different to do. One of the best places with the best staff-group of 6 adult friends and we made it out with just 4:20 to spare in the Lost City! Challenging and entertaining! I went with coworkers for a fun Saturday night of escape the room and hibachi. We chose the Murder Mansion mystery room, which is the most difficult one they had. I don't want to put spoilers, so I'll say it was a lot of fun and my coworkers loved it. It was definitely challenging, and we ended up not being able to escape, but we were close! I would definitely recommend this place. It was also nice how they took a team photo at the end and emailed it to us! The only negative I had was that the walls are a little thin, so we heard some screaming kids in the beginning, but hey they were having fun too haha. read more

One of the best setups I've ever seen. Four separate themed areas each with multiple linked escape rooms. Also very large lounge area with games and puzzles to entertain you before or after the escape rooms. Also have 2 large rooms for use as birthday party gatherings or company team building meetings. Took my daughter and her friends here, staff were attentive and would help drop some hints for them in room...just enough for their age (11&12 yrs) where they felt like they were figuring out the clues on their own. Had a great time with 7 other friends and family working on Murder Mansion. Well-done and attractive room that kept us busy up till the end. Unfortunately we needed another few minutes to finish the room, but we had a great time with all of the puzzles, and figured out the last lock just after the time ended. My friend and I came here for our first escape room experience together. I had been to different escape rooms in the past but it was his first time. We did the Antidote room and we both had a blast. When we first entered we were impressed with the old-fashioned arcade games that took us back to our childhood and were excited to enter the lost city. Once in the room everything was explained which was great, however, once the door closed and we found our first clue, the prop we needed was barely functioning which made it difficult to complete our first task thus wasting way more time than it should have. We did get a new prop handed to us however, there was so much lost time from the start that even the additional min we received was not enough so we were off to a bad start which set the stage for us losing our morale and excitement. I think if we had a better start with usable equipment we'd come back here but unsure if we will under the circumstances since it's costly. read more

I have been twice - both times fantastic experience beginning to end. Beautiful facility, excellent hosts, and the rooms are terrific! I did Lost City with adults and Scooby Doo with my kids (ages 6-12) - both were so much fun to navigate and the hosts give just the right amount of clues.
