The ropes course has changed considerably since they first opened. The section for young children was expanded. Children under 10 years of age appeared to be having a blast. The course for the older group seems to have been remodeled and reduced by 2/3. They have also closed the pizza bar and the ice cream area. The large area was both clean and organized. Fortunately the musical waterfall light show is still both relaxing and enjoyable! read more

Definitely 5 stars for the ropes experience, the staff could be a little more inviting and friendly, they were pretty robotic and not at all helpful for a newbie!! That being said, I'm so glad my 60 year old body still lets me do things like this because the wow factor at the top level is intense!! Perfect for all levels from toddler on up, there's a rope for everyone! The four ziplines are a great added feature to go from side to side and the maze aspect kept us guessing! What I loved the most was how terrified I was when we first started but then I gained all the confidence I needed with each crossing, finally tackling some of the super intense ones at the end of our time! I've been to the It Adventure Ropes Course at Jordan's Furniture several times and it's always a blast! Some of the most indoor fun you'll have in CT by far. Buy your tickets in advance online. They have the main ropes course plus a smaller one for younger kids. An adult ticket is $20 for one hour of climbing. They have two hour tickets as well, but in my experience one hour is more than enough time on the course (you actually get tired!). This is the largest indoor ropes course in the world, with cargo nets, swinging beams, and a 56-foot high zip line! There are four levels to the course, so if you're not fan of heights you can stick to the lower levels and still have fun (there are lower zip lines as well). Before you go inside I'd recommend leaving valuables in your car. They have free lockers but many of them are broken. You're also not allowed to have anything in your pockets (like a phone) when you're on the course. Overall this is a great spot for both kids and adults, a birthday party, rainy day, or just a night out. You'll have a blast! read more

We went to It a couple of weeks ago and everyone had a great time. Here are my tips/review: - We we're a group of 7 - 2 adults and 5 kids - a 5 year old, 8 year old, two 11 year olds and a 12 year old. My husband played on the ropes course. I supervised our younger kids on the toddler course. - The ropes course is pretty big and very high. My husband does have a little fear of heights - although he doesn't let it stop him from doing things like this lol. He said at times it was a little scary. My 12 year old daughter loved every second of it and wasn't ready to leave after 3+ hours lol. My 8 year old made it up to the steps to the regular ropes course before getting scared and needing to come back down. She ended up joining her 5 year old sister on the small ropes course. - The smaller ropes course is very small. There's not a lot of things to do, but there is a zip line that quickly became my girls favorite part. At first it was difficult for them to maneuver with their harnesses but after 20 mins or so they were zipping around like pros. - We purchased the 2 hour pass and climbing wall. For the bigger kids this was the perfect time amount. For my husband and my younger kids they were probably ready to be done after an hour or an hour and a half. The climbing wall is supposed to be an extra 30 mins; however only a few people can go on the wall at a time so you have to wait in a line for quite a while before you actually get to climb. Between waiting in line and climbing it took our kids about an hour to do this part. - As a mom watching little ones, there is no where to sit inside the area to watch your kids play. You're either sitting on the floor or standing the whole time. There are tables and chairs you can sit in outside that area but you can't leave little ones unattended. The place is also pretty busy on weekends so getting a table seemed almost impossible. - There aren't any food options. It looks like they had them at one point but they are no longer operating. There were a few vending machines but half of them didn't work. (We ended up going for ice cream at Milkcraft a few mins away afterwards). - While I do think everyone felt safe, the staff there didn't seem like they wanted to be there. - There are free lockers for you to store your belongings in, but a lot of them are broken and don't work. - Being that the place is inside of a furniture store I thought I would have a chance to go and look around; but we actually spent so much time inside or the ropes course that everyone was starving for a snack after lol. - All of the kids complained that their arms hurt the next day! They were sore from holding their ropes lol. My kids and their friends haven't stopped talking about this place since we went! They can't wait to go back again. I guess I should start by stating that I'm absolutely terrified of heights even though I've always participated in activities to try to combat my fear. We paid $20 for an hour in the course. The lockers are free. I think there are 5 levels, each increasing in height. I made a mistake going to the 3rd level right away. I was shaking so much! I decided to go down to the 1st level and completed all of the obstacles there before moving onto the 2nd and 3rd level. I felt less scared and shaky each time. If you're afraid of heights, I would recommend slowly working your way up. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience. The ziplining was a fun addition to the ropes course. I felt proud of myself for continuing through the course even though I was scared the whole time. read more

We needed a "human" to answer a few questions instead of making us run around for 15 to 20 minutes before getting to the "UNMARKED" door. Sorry but having children run your business because it saves money, doesn't work for me. When I call a business I expect a human being to answer the phone and to be able to help with directions and information on getting to the facility upon arrival. I dont know if there are any adults running the business but I suggest that you concentrate on "customer" service, live people. Also an answer of: "you should check your email" doesnt work when you have no access to the emails. That is an answer that a child would give, defending themselves and not thinking of the customer or accepting responsibility for their position. The right thing to do is to "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE REAL PEOPLE TO ANSWER YOUR PHONES" Return your messages in a timely manner and to actually realize that those little people are customers who are spending their hard earned dollars visiting your business and if you don't care enough about your business than just close it and save us all some grief. It got pretty crowded at the end and took a lot longer to wait for a zipline and to get across obstacles. Some of the ropes course were similar or the same from level to level. Still, the oddly named It offers a great indoor ropes course, inside a furniture store no less, that's well-run, challenging, and a lot of fun. To get to the course, walk through a section of Jordan's furniture store, pleasant and typical but nothing that prepares for the distinctive It space: cavernous and neon-lit with a striking, theatrical fountain as its centerpiece. The ropes courses, comprising three levels up to 60-feet high, are separated into two sections connected by four 200-foot ziplines and two walkways, with a free fall jump as one way to exit the course. There's a climbing "wall" appealingly shaped as a stack of balls. All accessible for those 48" and taller, or 42" and up with a suitably tall chaperone. Choose a package with a desired mix of activities. For example, Ultimate for $40 includes them all while $30 covers everything except climbing. Sign up, optionally store belongings in the small, free lockers, then get safety harnessed. The courses are in good condition, every part connected to the same safety cable system, even the stairs between each level, so there's never a reason (or way) to self-unlink. In addition, there's at least a couple of staff members in each of the two sections (no fear of heights for that job!) in case someone needs help or falls off a ropes course. From the ground, it looks easy enough but up there, falling off doesn't seem farfetched. It took seeing my 8-year old nephew fearlessly scampering across the ropes and looking at me as though to say "What are you still doing over there?" to finally get me moving. So yes, it can be done! The ziplines are terrific fun for an indoor line, even if just a straight shot. Hence they're more likely to have lines, with the most popular the one that goes through the fountains. A safety mechanism only allows one person at a time, until they reach the stairs at the other end. To exit, walk back down by stairs or jump from a platform at the highest level if the option was paid for. Staff monitor this part and the pulley system kicks in after the initial free fall to moderate landing speed. Paying to fall? Say yes. For the littler kids, there's a scaled down ropes course on the ground, complete with a single mini zip line. On premises are also a pizza and ice cream place, with dining areas. Enjoyed coming here this afternoon. The facility is well kept, clean, and safe. My experience on the course was a little shakey - I was terrified of being up so high! But I have was reassured by the kids nearby that there was nothing to be afraid of. :) The rules and signs were clearly written out for us and my concerns were answered. Before you get into the course, make sure you use the bathroom as you aren't allowed to leave and come back whenever you please. I came here with a group of 6 adults. It's definitely meant for kids, but everything is well run. The lines for the zipline and the jump do get a bit long, but it's nothing too bad. They have a Blaze Pizza and an ice cream shop inside as well! But once you come down, you can't go back, so fuel up beforehand. It's great for spending a couple hours with the kids. The zip lines are great. Furniture is over priced. My one advice: once you get a ticket for either the little course or the big course - don't get off it. My daughter has to use the restroom and the woman with the orange shirt (didn't get her name) said we had to buy another ticket. I was shocked! So...don't get off the courses. If you do, they make you buy another ticket. This is ridiculous. We went on sat may 27, 2017. The guy who was at the ticket counter was so rude. I asked him for a little course ticket, he said. She has to be under 48". I told him she was under. He said, "what ever". I was amazing. One guy said, that if it's slow..he let's people come back in again. I guess there is no set policy and what mood the person is...sets the stage if you have to buy another ticket or not. I most likely won't return...just cause the policy of "once you get off the course"...you have to buy another ticket. Or buy diapers and hope for the best for your kids. Even though it's fairly new in new haven. It has lost its charm. I give it another few years and it will close down. I don't see the demand for over priced furniture. Why is there a rope course inside a furniture store.... IDK but it's pretty sweet. Came here with a large group a friends on a weekday afternoon. Oddly enough, everyone was going into this furniture store and making a run to the back to get inside this ropes course, so yeah, it was pretty busy on a week day. Nonetheless, if you make party reservations, IT does a good job honoring your reservation and you start on time. This place seems to be tailored to younger kids but honestly for a group of 20+ year olds, this course was pretty lit. It's dimly lit withe lots of cool lights and a giant water fountain. The course itself is in 3 tiers, each differing in height and difficulty. I'm terrified of heights and idk how these kids move so swiftly but really it was a lot of fun. A great one stop shop for furniture and adventure! There's also Blaze pizza inside so that was nice. read more

I had a fantastic time doing the ropes course here last week for my husband's birthday. We had a group of 12 and we waited until everyone was there to venture up and thankfully we all pretty much got to start climbing at the same time. A number of our friends were a bit afraid of heights but surprisingly ventured ahead! I'm not usually very adventurous butttttt I'm not afraid of heights so I had a blast. The ropes course is two separate sides of the building connected by 4 zip lines (or a walk-across lane if ziplines aren't your thing). The design is pretty impressive - not only is the place HUGE, but you're connected from above by a seatbelt type harness and it follows along a track that goes throughout the entire course. The cool thing is that you can move your harness out of others' ways so you can choose different directions and you're never blocking other people who want to go in front of or behind you. I felt safe the entire time using the harness. What a good workout! I went through many of the paths and walkways - some are really hard! You need to balance, use your legs/arms, etc. I was definitely sore the next day. The ziplines were my favorite part. You just pick your feet up and are carried across the entire course. On one level you can sometimes get hit by the water from the fountain, too. (I avoided getting hit thankfully). I would definitely recommend this course to people of all ages. The only thing I was annoyed about (for my husband and friends) was the 'jump' which costs an extra $5. I'd read this complaint before and it happened to the people in our group who wanted to jump. It took FOREVER. They were clearly understaffed and kept having nobody at the bottom of the jump to give the OK and to be on the receiving end. One person would come down and it would be sometimes another TEN minutes until the next person would jump. After about 30 minutes, my husband and friends gave up and just walked down. COMPLETE waste of $5. They really need to fix the staff support on that one part. Otherwise, I had a terrific time and will definitely go back at some point. Another positive is you can stay up there as long as you'd like. We all walked through the course for about 1.5 hours. (Also they played a super weird mix of music I loved including ABBA, Paul Simon, then a bunch of opera and classical music I tend to associate with Looney Tunes. Loved it). They DO have free lockers to keep all your belongings in, too. Makes life much easier when you have phones, purses, coats, etc. They don't want you carrying any belongings throughout the course in case they fall 40 feet down out of your pocket. Smart! read more

A fun indoor adventure ropes course where you can easily spend 2 to 3 hours. We actually came to check out the food truck paradise nearby but stumbled upon this space. It's a little strange that the course is tucked away in the back of a furniture store but who cares. For $25 per person, you get access to the ropes course and zip lines. These courses cater well for the kids but is definitely still fun for the adults. There were lots of families as well as young kids but everyone is very respectful while on the ropes. There's four zip lines and many levels on each side of the course. You get to pick your path so you can do it over and over again until you're tired. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes and closed toe shoes. You may store any loose belongings in their free lockers. Also heads up, make sure to pee and take care of everything before you head up because once you come back down, you won't be able to get in again. read more

When friends recommended we check out this ropes course that was located in a furniture store... all I could think was Are You Kidding?!?!? I had visions of walking on ropes over people trying to figure out what's their next couch while Muzak played in the background. I couldn't have been more wrong. We had kids from 6 to 48 and we ALL had a wonderful time. Seriously, we were jumping up and down with excitement the moment we walked in. There's a full light show going on, great upbeat music, a full fountain display. They aren't kidding when they say it's the world's largest indoor ropes course -- it's massive! Be sure to just pay for the upsell... you're going to want to do the big jump at the end. Trust me on this one. And this is one of those places I would love to come back without the kids and just do with my hubby and myself for date night. They have ice cream and a pizza place right there to make it a full date or family outing. Really cool place. I was visiting CT from NYC and wanted to give it a try. Sort of reminds me of ninja warrior. You can do the whole course in about an hour and a half. Its mostly kids and a mix of adults. They have pizza and ice cream. It didnt look great but the teenagers were scarfing it down so I imagine its not bad. It was really fun and I really like how you can adjust the difficulty yourself. The entire time you are harnessed to a beam about 7 feet high. If you hold on to your harness you will never fall but if you dont hold on to it the course is much more challenging (and fun!). read more

We have driven by this place so many times in the past years, but never wondered what "IT" really was. The site was thoroughly enjoyed by our teen (age 14), her friend, and her Dad as I shopped elsewhere in the city for 2 hours. If you come at the first open at 10 am, expect to be hungry by 12 noon as the scent of pizza travels upwards to the ziplines! The birthday parties seem like a great option for groups who are local or willing to travel (we live about 1 hour away). Otherwise, you can easily find time to zip around across the lines and obstacles for 2-3 hours. Just keep in mind the rules about on/off stuff--pee before you get strapped in, eat before you go, and have fun! read more

Super fun place. There are plenty of free locker to put your personal belongings. We went with a 4 1/2 year old and 3 adults. There is fun for everyone. Adults did the "big rope course" The little one did the" little rope course" No one had interest in the wall climbing and not many customers were in that area. The staff are extremely nice. I've been to "IT" three times now for three different experiences and been pleased every time. First I brought my daughter, then 4 years old, to do the "little IT" kids course. It was only $8 and she had fun getting experience being in a real harness and traversing the small course of bridges a foot or two off the ground. Afterwards we had pizza and watched the fountain light show. Shortly after that, I went with my SIL for a girl night of adventure on the full size course. $25 per person with no time limit is a pretty good deal. Make sure you use the restroom first because once you leave the course you can't re-enter. They are very clear about this, telling you when you buy the ticket. So just plan for it and don't drink that venti coffee before OK? That night we spent about 90 minutes criss-crossing the course including all 4 zip lines. There were plenty of challenges to keep up busy. Afterward we had some of the ice cream for sale below the course. Just this past weekend, my husband and I brought our daughter, now 6, for a family go at the full sized course. I admit I was unsure about plunking down the money for us all to get up there knowing there would be no refund if she chickened out. But I'm so glad we went for it - she had a blast (even doing the zip lines!) and we spent a solid 2 hours on the course! Followed by pizza (which is nothing to write home about, but convenient when you're done playing and you're hungry.) Note for reference: She is 49" tall, which is a hair over the 48" limit to do the course unchaperoned (minimum with chaperone is 42"). I would NOT recommend letting a child her size do the course unsupervised, no matter how brave. Due to her height, on elements where the "bridge" was slack rope, she would get full tension on her safety line and it sometimes got "stuck" where she was unable to progress it forward and keep crossing. With one of us there to walk out to her and assist moving it along, it worked out fine, but by herself might have caused some issues. Overall, very pleased with our experiences here. A rainy Saturday afternoon, what is a family to do for fun? How about the ropes course at It I said. So off we went. The space appears so large it is a little overwhelming. As you get on line to buy tickets there is noise and hustle bustle everywhere. But the ticket line itself moved quickly and with wristbands firmly affixed we were off to the free lockers to stow our stuff. Once we stuffed our things into a locker we headed over to the line to get our harnesses and head into the course. The staff at It has this part well figured out and the line moved quite quickly. The safety system design at It is BRILLIANT. The staff hooks the end of your safety line into a steel track which runs through the entire course. Once you are clipped in, you CANNOT release yourself from the safety system. This is a huge design improvement over other ropes courses I have been to. Into the course itself. There are multiple levels and four zip lines. One zip line runs through a fountain. You will get wet. There is a lot of repetition in the obstacles but as a general rule, lower obstacles are easier while higher obstacles are harder. I had a great time. My biggest concern was staff response to issues in the course. A number of younger children got stuck on obstacles and it took a long time for someone to assist them. They were not in danger, but they were pretty distraught by the time help arrived. I also felt that the course should have a second exit, not just for medical emergencies. If you are on the far end of the course and it is crowded, it can take a very long time to get back to the one exit. We did not try any of the food or drinks, and my wife and Teagan did not enjoy the ropes course experience. But I would highly recommend It as a place to spend a cold or rainy day. read more

We stopped at IT on our way back from New London today. My husband went up with our 8 year old and 6 year old daughters. I stayed back since my son was not interested in going up. At the register we received excellent service and he was able to explain and answer all of our questions. The girls were excited to go up so we bought tickets and proceeded to get harnessed. There are several options and they chose the ropes plus zip line feature for 25 per person. The course is def intimidating from below I could only imagine how it was from above looking down. My oldest daughter I could tell was overwhelmed at one point . Since my husband was trying to manage them both I could seen him struggling. I called over an employee to see it was possible to help bring her down since I did not want him to leave our little one alone. It took some convincing on my part for her to go up and help us out. Honestly, I was frustrated by the situation and was unclear what their roles are as employees there. Was it to only harness people in, out and serve at birthday parties ? She went up finally and was able to bring my daughter who was in fact crying down. She was probably up there for less than 15 mins it was truly a waste of money on her ticket. My 6 year old did amazing and was truly fearless. This rope course is def not for everyone. The harness is tricky to move along the course. The whole time there I only saw 1 consistent employee helping people on the ropes moving back and forth. The Zip line portion I believe should have someone at the end. My little one did go first which probably was not the best idea. She loved it but got stuck at the end since her rope would not move along the track. This causes a delay since there is a light to indicate to the next person that they can go. I asked one of the employees and he suggested that the person with her should of gone first. Great tip but was would have been useful prior to going up. She at that point also had to use the restroom which she did use prior to going up. After you zip across you are required to go back across in order to come down. My husband asked an employee about going down on that end and was advised it was for employees only. I gave this location 2 stars due to the unenthusiastic staff. Great idea to add this to the back end of a furniture store. Plenty of obstacles for everyone to enjoy. Wish the music selection was better since they played oldies music and everyone there was young. Will return read more

What a great find! This indoor rope course plus zip line was fun for my whole family! Clean, great service and great price! My six year old was scared and there was no easy way out for us once in so be prepared to complete challenging activities! My ten year old loved every minute! Will definitely go back! read more

Nice course smaller than expected good pizza. Only staff member that made us feel welcome was the guy working at the pizza place. All the other staff members were disrespectful and seemed pissed off by our presence. The guy who had to hook us up for the rock climbing didn't say a single word to us the entire time and had a nasty look on his face as if somebody was holding him up telling him to let us climb the wall. They need to hire less miserable staff at a place that's meant to be fun, until then I wouldn't spend another penny here. Forgot to mention make sure you use the bathroom before going on the course because if you have to you can't get back on the course. Makes no sense for all that money not being able to use the bathroom..... read more

What a pleasant surprise. This furniture store with extra room rents out space to a ropes course company to help drive traffic into their store. You have to walk through the store but there's no pressure and they do have unique pieces! The course is pricey but we spent five hours! Well worth it. And it was such a sense of pride to see my kids conquer it. Try letting them do it alone. You may be surprised. The water show is a nice touch and we love blaze pizza. read more

This place is a lot of fun for kids and adults!!! I went with my friends last Friday afternoon (I should say that we are all rounding the 30's) without knowing where we were going. I've seen and advertising of It on Yelp but I never imagined that could be so amazing. We were surprised by the size of the place, 4 levels of rope courses, 4 zip lines that cross the entire place, a fountain with dancing water and lights, and music, was really good! We had no idea about what to do there, so we asked the guys at the front desk, and they explained the different options that we had: 1) It & Zip It - $25, 2) It, Zip It & Jump It - $30, or 3) Climb It - $10. The first two options give you free access to all the rope courses and zip lines, for unlimited time while you do not exit the game, but the second one also includes the possibility of jumping from the 4th level to the ground using an elastic rope. The third option is climbing different challenges. They also have a special place for little kids, that cost $8. We weren't sure about the jumping, so we chose the first option. We played liked kids, really excited, climbing, using the zip lines, we had a lot of fun! I recommend this place to go with the kids, with your friends, with everybody!
