Decent prices but unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience with the employee behind the counter. I didn't catch the name but he was a larger fellow with a beard and around 40 years of age. We asked him politely to put the gutter guards up due to our inexperience with bowling and he rudely refused and said we were "too old" to need that. We asked again if he was just joking around because we really needed the guards up but he again refused. This left a bitter taste in our whole parties mouth. I will not return. If this is a common rule at the bowling establishment then they should have it posted before purchasing a lane. We paid for the lane! Gutter guards or not! 2/5, will not return. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday, Groupon in tow. I haven't seen a bowling alley this packed since the 90s. We luckily had two lanes reserved, but groups of people were waiting at the door to bowl. The facilities are pretty nice. The computers were easy to use, and they had a good assortment of bowling balls. I docked a star because over the course of two games, our party had to call the attendant three times about little glitches that required a manual reset of the lane. They were prompt about fixing them though, and the staff members had a good attitude. Our Groupon came with popcorn and drinks for everyone, which were a welcome treat. For the Groupon price, it's a pretty good value. I can't speak to what the normal prices are. We had a great time and plan to come back next time we have the itch to bowl! read more

Super fun family night! Can't wait to come back! Just a heads up, this place is quite busy. We tried to come here two days in a row (Thursday and Friday night). On Thursday , I called in advance to see how busy they were. The guy on the phone said, they should have lanes open after 7:45. We came around 8 to a fully packed bowling alley. Unfortunately, lanes would not be available until 9:30. We didn't want to wait an hour and a half so we left. On Friday , we called around 5 to see how busy they were and again, they would not have lanes open until 9:30 pm. Finally, on Saturday, we called around 4 and were informed that they have bowling lanes open. read more

Cheapest alleys in the area, and also the straightest and best kept. No wonder the leagues flock to this place, they have professional level lane maintenance. Recently I took a lesson with Phil, one of the managers, and it was excellent. If you're into improving your game, he's the guy to talk to. In addition, I used their pro shop to get a custom fingertip ball (my first!) and they took extreme care in making sure that it fit my hand correctly. One final note, its nice and dark in the alley, most places have bright flourescent lights everywhere which is really annoying, but at Amity its a nice dim light in there so you can focus on the pins. read more

This is the second time I've thrown a party at Amity Bowl. It was a stag for my son, and again it was a great time! Barbara and her staff know how to throw a party! They are extremely accommodating and spot on their game. All the food is freshly prepared right on the premises by Barbara herself and trust me when I tell you the lady CAN cook! Most people think of children's party's at a bowling alley... BUT, if you're considering a adult party for any reason, call Amity Bowl. You will not regret it! Has anyone else noticed that bowling has gotten ridiculously expensive nowadays? I think it's like $6 a game in Milford. What the hell? To roll a ball and knock over some sticks? Retarded. Luckily, Amity Bowl still knows how to offer a good experience at a good price. In comparison to other bowling alleys in the area, their prices are good, there are free coupons floating around (on the paper placemats at the Athenian Diner) and they take pretty good care of their lanes. They also have a full bar, and you can get reasonably priced pitchers of beer and pretty much whatever else you find to be an appropriate bowling alley beverage (martinis are not approved for bowling alley consumption). The food is, well, it's bowling alley food, so take that for what it's worth. But, even still, it's pretty bad. Eh, you can't win 'em all. I came here on a Saturday night with two other bowling-partners-in-crime. We played two games each and also rented shoes. Six games of bowling on a Saturday night and three pairs of rental shoes came to almost forty dollars. A liiiiitle on the pricey side, but we had a blast. The lanes at Amity Bowl are well taken care of. The bowling balls are in good shape, too. There are plenty balls available, with a ride range of finger hole sizes. Balls as light as 8 pounds and as heavy as 16 pounds are available at the alley. The shoes aren't scummy either, which is a huge plus. It skeeves me out a little to think how many people have worn those shoes, regardless of how thoroughly they sanitize them! The gentleman at the counter that set us up on a lane and rang us out as we were leaving was very nice. There's a full bar and a well-stocked snack bar. Everything is clean, too, which I appreciate because I can only imagine how messy a bowling alley could potentially get [grease + nachos + beer + drunk people throwing 13 pound balls doesn't sound like the best combination ever in regards to keeping things clean]! Amity bowl turns into a disco haven on Saturday nights after 8:00PM. Sometimes called "moonlight" or "midnight" bowling, the lights do dim, a slew of rotating colorful lights come on, and the music gets blasted through the speakers. I bowl at Amity Bowl twice a week at least. I love it there. MOST of the workers there are nice. They have good prices and is mostly super clean. But as I said MOST of the workers are nice. The owner always has an attitude with me personally for some reason. Never smiles. Never nice. He always tries to snag an extra buck out of ya so be careful. The guy who usually works at the front desk is usually not happy. I would be there every day if they were just happy people! read more

Bowling in CT has become like a party house with arcades, fancy lights, etc, it's nice to come to a bowling alley where it's as close to simplicity. I went with some friends on a Friday night, lights and music kicked in around 9:30pm, and they weren't like blasting pop music or extreme dark like bowling alleys in CT have become. read more

I had a Groupon and decided to try it and bring my kids. We had a great time lots of fun prices were very reasonable.

DONT BUY GROUPON -- For starters, we bought a Groupon for 2 hours of bowling, food, drinks, etc. Have done this before with no problem. This time around we bought the groupon and arrived and was told we needed to wait 24 hours before using the groupon. We decided to purchase extra for that night and save the groupon for another day. Fast forward, and we return, looking to use our groupon that we have already purchased. They tell us the entire alley is rented out on a Saturday night and we would not be able to use our groupon, which expired the next day. Our friend traveled up from Florida and they told us they would not give us our money back and that we need to come back tomorrow (Sunday). The manager proceeded to harass us into the parking lot. We will NOT be returning here. Lack of communication from all staff. We even called ahead of time asking to reserve ONE LANE and they stated we don't take reservations and to just come in..... DO NOT waste your money on this groupon. Place is unsanitary, honestly not worth the hassle. read more

This place is great. The lanes are well maintained, the prices are great (they have specials every day). Full service place with food, bar, clean bathrooms with multiple stalls, ample parking. Can't speak to the quality of balls or shoes since I brought my own, but I am sure they are fine or at least on par with other bowling centers. read more

A good place. They seem to have nice deals every day. Black light bowling kicked on a 9:30 on a Thursday, which was fun. (Didn't know this was going to happen but it may have been posted somewhere and we didn't notice). Place was pretty full and all were enjoying. Friendly staff. My husband and I went here on a Saturday night. While the venue was busy we received service immediately, and a lane. The person who helped us suggested we do the special which was unlimited bowling for 2 hours for $13.50 each, what a deal! They had the black lights on which was a nice touch and the music provided a variety of genres. The crowd is diverse attracting locals and college students. Since we were in the very first lane I did not get a chance to see the whole floor plan. Parking is convenient and plentiful. We shall be back! read more

Unexpected fun! It's small and kinda tight, but we went on a Saturday night and there was a good mix of families, teens and 30 something's having a good time. The staff was friendly, if a little slow to fix the bumpers issue we had. They have a full bar and food set up, but it's cash only! The popcorn in mini or jacuzzi tub size is a nice touch too. Want the truth about this place? Well, it's not a "bucket 'o blood" bar as was implied earlier (am I misreading the comments?). The owner of the past 5 years, Jan(?), is SO nice to us beginners not to mention so helpful. This is the only place we go other than having had our balls made to order where Jan recommended, the Pro shop at the Milford lanes (which also deserves a five star rating by the way). So now having the shoes and custom balls it's costing us $4.50/ea per game. We find that very reasonable. We did go on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed ... but all was in order and all the patrons were friendly and smiling. We were neither intimidated nor embarrassed with our scores of 34 and 92.
