If I were a student at Quinnipiac, this would be my spot! The beer is exclusively brewed and sold on premises, so it was our first time trying it, and we really enjoyed it. Their food menu is huge, and while there's a lot of choices, we have to say they do everything well! Some elevated and international choices too that we weren't expecting, but everything we tried was fantastic, including dessert. That sampler platter is the way to go, and honestly Colten and I could've made a meal out of just that! We will absolutely be back!

The peach compote was refrigerator cold but tasty, and my waffle was room temperature. The whipped cream was perfect. I figured out that the waffle was commercially made, not in-house but it should have been served hot. I was shocked that my peaches were cold. I asked if they could be microwaved but they didn't have one. I asked the waitress to pass along my suggestion and took my food to go. Once heated at home, it went down well. The syrup wasn't warm either. Good dish but not missing the correct temperature

Holy moly! When here…read morewith a colleague to try something new. I've never seen mashed potatoes on a pizza before. We got the Thanksgiving pizza and it was absolutely amazing. I don't even know how to tell you about it in this review. This is something people should come far and wide to try. We got cider donut, mocktails that were so delicious and then we got the New Haven pizza, which was really good more of a traditional pizza. Two mediums for two people was too much. All I can say is if you're traveling through, you have to make this stop. Super cool has a pool table love the decor. It's the industrial type of stuff that I really like. Set up was cool large tables great for sharing.

Based on a recommendation, four friends and I visited for an earlier dinner on Cinco de Mayo (yes,…read morewrong type of cuisine, but we were in town and this restaurant was on our list.) BAR is an interesting restaurant: open air, picnic tables, open space, paper plates, no utensils unless you ask for them, etc. We were greeted right away by a less than friendly waiter who seemed peeved we didn't have a drink to order right away. Strike one. After a few minutes, everyone put their drink order in and I asked if the bartender could make me a mojito since it wasn't on the menu. The waiter said yes, so I waited. Then came the mojito. It was the worst "mojito" I've tasted in my life. I'm not one to send a drink back because of an "I don't taste any alcohol" excuse, but this was BAD. It tasted like margarita mix with lime and mint sprigs thrown in. It was absolutely terrible. When I double checked with the waiter if the drink was an original mojito he simply said yes, not "is something wrong with the drink?" or "would you like to send it back?" The drink was so bad I told him I couldn't drink it. He was peeved again. Strike two. I asked for a soft drink instead and the soda was flat (strike 3), but at this point I just needed something to drink... because who wants to have water with their pizza? Then came the time to make a dinner choice. My mission was to try the mashed potato pizza. It was hands down AMAZING!! Mashed potatoes and bacon on a pizza. Yes, please!! This was the only saving grace from my experience. I would return to BAR again if only for that pizza! Two of my friends had the clam pizza and the pepperoni/mushroom. Both enjoyed their own! Warming: New Haven pizza is thin crust. I got two meals out of a small, so if you visit with a group, consider ordering a few small pizzas so you can taste a few. I would've given BAR 4 or 5 stars, but the unpleasant waiter, the "mojito," and the flat sofa made for a trifecta, so I'm giving my visit 3 stars. If I find myself in New Haven again, I'll be back! Hopefully my next update will be 5 stars!

From what I gather this is a smalll local chain in the Applebees/Chilis style. Only the food and service is much, much better. From the moment we walked in we're seated promptly and the hostess set the tone m, warm and welcoming. We had the artichoke dip appetizer and this was definitely one the best versions. The tortilla chips that came with it were definite fresh and up to the job for this dip. For mains I had the ribs and these were really good. Fall off the bone good. We also had fish and chips and burgers and absolutely no complaints. Burgers were cooked as ordered. The fish and the sweet potato fried and regular fries were al very good. Nothing was greasy at all. The coleslaw was mid. But honestly that's ok. It was definitely fresh like everything else. Our server was exceptionally nice and attentive. She really wanted to make sure we had a positive experience. My son summed it up best. This is a solid place and if we're in the area we'd definitely go back. If they opened one up on Long Island close by we would be regulars.

From the planning stages through the night of our event, everyone was incredibly accommodating, helpful and welcoming. The staff truly went above and beyond. They helped me bring things in, assisted with setting up, helped hang our banner, and were there for anything we needed throughout the evening. Once the event was underway, the waitstaff was attentive, friendly and professional despite having such a large group to take care of. The food was also delicious! Everything I had was excellent, and I heard many positive comments throughout the evening. Organizing an event for more than 100 people is no small undertaking, and having a venue with people who were willing to jump in and help made an enormous difference. Our reunion was an absolutely wonderful night, and the hospitality we received from J. Roos was a big part of that. I am incredibly grateful to everyone at J.
