The Owenego Inn has been one of my favorite venues since my Aunt Jen's wedding back when I was a kid. It's historic but not outdated. The event space is large enough for a bigger wedding but probably not more than 175 but idk the official capacity. They have a beautiful piece of property right on the water. There's a deck with a gazebo. The bar area is beautiful and cozy. The staff are professional and friendly. I really enjoyed the food the last couple of events I've been to there. It's clean and well kept. They have numerous events over the summer with food trucks and music as well. I just recently found out that it is open to the public as well. Parking js ample. Don't count this place out for your birthday, wedding or any other kind of event!

Went in for microblading in May of 2025, worst decision of my life. When Doreen did my eyebrows…read morethey were uneven, not on brow-line and misshaped (one higher and arched the other extremely low and straight)and a huge gouge which still isn't healed. I asked her about this and she said don't worry they look fine. Called a few times expressing my concerns about the appearance and that I was having a reaction to the pigment. Doreen was very off putting and said she didn't care about their current appearance that I just needed to wait for follow up appointment. The redness and pain kept getting worse so I went to Dermatologist and was told it appeared to be an allergic reaction to the pigment and not to do any follow up. I told Doreen about this and once again she dismissed my concerns and insisted I do the follow up. Now, 5 months later I still have scarring and pigment "blotches" nowhere near where my brows should be. I will not follow up based upon my Dr. advice and recommend NO ONE let her butcher their face. I've stayed here at Holiday Inn, Branford CT. several years ago. It was clean & fresh…read more My first impression of the lobby is why are there chairs and small tables right in the center of the lobby where people should be walking through to enter and leave? Why do people have to walk around this? Seems better if it would be by the wall opposite the desk or where computers are. Room pricing: Quirky. I wasn't quoted a specific price per night and it seemed high. I stated it was off season and was told it didn't matter that they can charge different prices or change prices per week or weekend, there's no set amount. What?? Doesn't sound legit. My bill has six different prices per night from $159.99, $174.99, $199.99, $339.99, $155.99, $169.99. Even the room tax was different each night,... $24.00, to $30.00, to $51.00, to 25.50. This bill was perplexing. I really didn't look at it until after I left the state. I had a long drive. My bill total was $1973.32 for 8 nights! WOW!! Crazy!! Room: It was clean but the carpet looks like it needs shampooing. The edge where it meets the tile near the bathroom was frayed from foot traffic. Stepped on the metal edging one night, it didn't feel good on my foot. Time to fix it. Toilet paper is awful, cheap and thin. The TV has limited channels. The button on the room phone for the front desk didn't work. Parking: spaces are tight, your car may get its doors banged if others aren't careful. They say there is security cameras in the lot but I doubt it. Didn't see any cameras. Noise: room doors close hard making a loud noise which causes shaking vibration of walls & bed. Quiet close doors please, people come in and out late night & early morning. Some woman was talking loudly on her cell phone at 2:00am in the hall waking me, then at 7:00 am a refrigerated tractor trailer truck delivering supplies came into the lot stopping right along the west side of the building where my room was. Woke me again. Truck left idling. Maybe I got 5 hours sleep that night. Also delivery trucks unloading at the Ford dealership early in the morning on the west side of hotel. Lights: housekeeping turns on every light in the room / bathroom before leaving. Why? No wonder they charge so much. Overall I was not happy about room pricing, felt I got ripped off, and the noise disturbances in and out of hotel. Hopefully I won't have to come to CT. again. I won't be staying here. Disappointed.

I know this place is horrendous, however I have seen and experienced so much worse. I know if…read moreyou've never been here before and visit here and see how God-awful it is, you're all gonna think I'm insane. My friends and I have WAY too many fond memories of this place. So I guess the high star rating is due to being sentimental. We always have a good time here for some strange reason, and we're not even crack heads like most of the other occupants probably are. The hot tub rooms now have flat screen T.V.s and the wash clothes are folded like little starched roses and the towels like swans. I want to laugh out loud as I'm writing this. You know, it's experiencing places like this that build character. :D

Easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I was stuck in…read moreNew Haven without a hotel, all major hotels were booked up for a cycling event. I was forced between this hotel or a $60 uber to another city and I took a chance. I know we all read reviews and think, "only upset people write it and exaggerate." Welp, here's the god's honest truth... I booked at 10:30 at night. When my car got to the hotel, it was about 11:15. The man running the front desk said he saw my reservation, but stated Priceline had not sent him my credit card info. I showed him multiple versions of me paying. (Priceline confirmation, bank statement, apply pay transaction.) He refused to believe me, even though my name was in his computer, then asked me to pay for the room again. Upon asking if I would be charged twice, he then told me to call Priceline myself there was nothing he could do. As I sat on the phone trying to call Priceline, ten minutes in he miraculously finds my information on his computer, then tells me to hang up. From here, he needs basic hotel info, but is now taking 15-20 minutes with endless printing and signing over and over again on what seems to be the same transaction information in different formats. Whatever... let's just get to my room and sleep. I have an early flight out. The room... I mean, it's bad. It's really, really bad. First thing you notice is these are not cleaned regularly and when I mean regularly I assume they rent them out maybe once every few months and do not clean that often or well between. There is a jacuzzi in the corner that is just broken. That should give you warning enough, but the smell of mildew is overwhelming. The furniture looks like it was picked out of dumpster two years ago and smells like it to match. Half the lights don't work and there's mirrors above the bed... yeah that kinda place. There are black spots everywhere. Walls, carpet, sink, sheets. It has to be infested with mold. The bed... bring a tarp. I'll put it this way. I'd sleep on the floor if I thought it was cleaner. There was hair and black spots I can only hope to god is mold, but could be dried blood all over the pillows. I didn't even look under the covers. I took two towels and spread them over the spot I was sleeping and slept in my clothes and the lights on. The bathroom, forget it. If you need to use it for a quick second... it's no better than a port-o-potty on a construction site. I didn't even think about showering or using the water... AT ALL! Now the nightmare begins, I don't know what's going on, but it became clear around one in the morning this is some kind of drug / party hotel for let's say folks down on their luck a bit later in life. ALL NIGHT LONG, until 6-7 in the morning... music blasting, people arguing, slamming doors, running and banging. Any sleep I got was easily interrupted every forty five minutes to a bang, slam, scream or impromptu concert over a speaker. It only stops when the sun comes up. Multiple times I was jolted out of sleep thinking someone was trying to get into my room. And if that's a concern, don't worry your door is as safe as a chain lock that seems to have been busted open over a dozen times. The worst part is I'm 99% sure there's bed bugs. Throughout the night I kept feeling bites on my ankle where my pants were exposed, to the point I tried my best to tuck my kakis in my socks. This place is hell on earth. I'd sooner suggest sleeping on the street or even a dumpster. Someone needs to bulldoze this place five y

Overbooked, Stranded, and Treated with Disrespect I have…read morebeen traveling for more than 30 years, and I have never experienced anything like this. I reserved and paid for my room in advance, only to arrive at the hotel and be told that they were overbooked and there was an issue with my reservation. I simply cannot understand how a guest can have a confirmed, prepaid reservation, show up expecting a room, and then be told there is no room available. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of concern from management. There seemed to be very little regard for what happens to a guest who arrives expecting the room they reserved and paid for, especially when they may be far from home and have nowhere else to stay. What is even more disappointing is that this hotel is part of the Hilton brand, and my reservation was made and paid for through Expedia. These are two major, well-established companies, so I expected a much higher level of professionalism, customer service, accountability, and assistance when something went wrong. Unfortunately, contacting Expedia made the experience even worse. Each time I called, I was told that they first needed to contact the hotel to confirm that the hotel was actually overbooked. Once they confirmed it, they would apologize and tell me they were transferring me to a relocation/reservation specialist who would help find another hotel. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, the call would disconnect. I would then have to call back, explain the entire situation again to another representative, and go through the same process all over again. After nearly two hours of waiting and repeatedly calling, Expedia still provided no solution. What made it worse was the lack of concern and the attitude I received from the representatives. At no point did I feel that anyone truly cared that I was left without the room I had already reserved and paid for. As a customer, I should not have had to spend hours repeatedly calling, explaining the same situation, and proving that the hotel did not have the room I had already reserved and paid for. After more than 30 years of traveling, this was one of the most frustrating and unacceptable hotel experiences I have encountered. When you are dealing with names like Hilton and Expedia, you expect a confirmed and prepaid reservation to mean that a room will actually be available when you arrive. If something does go wrong, you expect both companies to take responsibility, communicate with one another, and help the customer find a solution instead of leaving the customer stranded and repeatedly trying to resolve the problem on their own. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking a trip through Expedia or staying at a Hilton property, especially this particular hotel. Traveling can already be stressful enough. No one should have to deal with this level of stress, disrespect, lack of consideration, and poor customer service after paying in advance and expecting a confirmed reservation to be honored.
