    The Quandary 2017

Had a great time solving the case with our friends! We had 2 teams go against each other in different rooms to solve the crime! It was engaging, thought provoking and definitely an overall great time had by all! I can't wait to go back and solve the other mystery. Looking for something different to do with friends or family then check out Quandary! A nice clean place(smelled great!), great people, and a fun time.

ESCAPETHEROOMers are very excited to visit Wallingford, Connecticut and were fortunate enough to interview the founders to learn more about their company. The husband has a law enforcement background and the wife has experience in art & design. Combined, they are able to create realistic challenges and puzzles based on their knowledge of the subjects. Quandary is located on the 2nd floor inside of a 150 year old brick building and has a lot of character. They opened to the public two years ago and currently offers 3 rooms (2 of the rooms are identical to each other - so 5 rooms total). We are scheduled to try their newest room "Operation: Gambit" which normally requires a minimum of 4 people to book. As soon as you walk inside the waiting area, you are automatically introduced to the world in the storyline. The props used were very authentic. The area is spacious w/ plenty of background material to support the room's storylines. Once ready, you enter a long eerie hallway w/ doors on each side leading to the rooms. The "Operation: Gambit" room is located at the end and has soon as you enter you are on a movie set. Because the room normally requires a minimum of 4 people, we didn't waste anytime and was able to get out with a few seconds to spare. The room had a good mixture of technological puzzles, decoders, and unique placements of locks to open. The decor and design was quite impressive and we really enjoyed ourselves. Such a good time!! Went with my family, split up to see who could get out of the Zodiac room first. Highly recommend escape rooms. The staff here is super awesome, I can't wait to go back!

Greg, the super hospitable owner, greeted us and guided us to the Zodiac room which was fun, realistic and challenging.

While I had never been to a VR arcade before, I have used an Oculus headset in the past and so I more or less knew what to expect. The staff member working at the time, Scott, was extremely friendly and helpful, and gave me an overview of all the different games that were available to play. For Room-Scale VR, they have 30, 60, 90, or 120 minute play times. I paid for 30 minutes, which was $28. I started off with an archery game called Elvin Assassin, where I had to defend a castle from orcs who were invading. I felt like Robin Hood, it was so fun! Next I played a Rythmatic 2 game (which was similar to Beat Saber) where I had to use light sabers to slash beats of music as they flew toward me. This one also required some shuffling back and forth, and I was honestly a little out of breath by the time I finished! I ended with a game called Ragnarock, which was another music game where you're sailing on a viking ship and need to pound drums with giant hammers to the sound of the beat. I was able to play all three games within the 30-minute session. I had a really fun time and can't wait to go back! I would highly recommend for a night out with friends, birthday party, etc.

I thought it was so cool to have the ability to play multiplayer games with our friends where we could actually see each other in-game, and they had an awesome selection of games to choose from (100+!). My favorite part was getting to do the racing similar with my fiancé. It felt so real, and the feeling of accelerating was so cool! I wasn't sure how I would do since I have a pretty bad history of motion sickness, but I was surprisingly fine. Xperiment VR makes a great family outing or date night, and would definitely be a great place for birthday parties!
