We had decided to check…read moreout Hour to Exit because they had decent reviews and we were trying to make the most of an "upstate" NY trip. We did the Elude the Illusionist room with no expectations and left thoroughly impressed. We booked an 8pm game on a Saturday, so the positive for parking is that it is ample and free. We freaked out a bit because the streets before the intersection were pretty crowded, but when we walked near the room, we realized that we had more options than we thought. Elude the Illusionist is created by Duane, one of the co-owners, who has done so many escape rooms. The room is appropriately challenging and the puzzles were enjoyed by even the most experienced escape room enthusiast in our group. I liked that the puzzles utilized a variety of skills and "lock" types (magnets and locks). The puzzles also matched with the magic theme, which is also more enjoyable. I have two minor critiques of the room. They have two puzzles that are based on lengths of things that are not the most obvious differences. Fortunately, there are other ways to solve those puzzles, but I think it could be a little more clear. Second, a previous reviewer mentioned that the room was not linear, but I think after the first major task, it does get linear. This is not the biggest issue because they allow private games, but that means a smaller group will work better! Honestly, the best thing about this room are the owners, Duane and Brittney. If you are an enthusiast, you NEED to do this room and speak with them! They are incredibly experienced and offered us a lot of other suggestions of rooms to do. We plan to come back and do their new room Robbin Tiffany's, but we hope that they are able to create another room similar to Elude the Illusionist in the future as well.

They gave us just enough hints to help us not stay stuck but only when we asked for them (be sure to let them know to only offer hints when asked if you want that). This is where you are abducted and you wake up in a stranger's closet, which you have to escape from! I thought the storyline was awesome and our Puzzle Master (not sure that is the correct name but the person that gives you clues when you are stuck!) was great. She knew exactly when to give us clues especially when we were so close to finding the answer. I thought this multi-room escape room was awesome and challenging. We managed to get out with 2 minutes to spare and will definitely check out some of their other Escape Rooms if I am ever back in the area. Also, the place is a little tricky to find as its in an industrial area so just keep circling and you will find it!

Great to have the Georgetown University Field Hockey team in. They were a blast and did awesome!

We didn't solve the puzzle in the hour time and used 4 of 5 clues. And there was no A/C so there was a loud fan in the room the entire time. On a Sunday morning we were the first early bird group to arrive. Located on the third floor by Bath and Body Works, the doors opened a bit before official store opening at 11 am. There are various bookings throughout the day/evening and you'll be prompted to sign a waiver. The actual story could have been more direct and clear especially when you only have an hour for the experience and you're trying to maximize time and accommodate different reading levels. And they had an overemphasis on needing to unlock various locks. The room and mystery lacked depth and it was confusing which clues applied to which lock. It would have made more sense if the clues had been more sequential and only applied to a specific lock in the vicinity. Some of the clues also seemed a little silly. They could also have designed the experience to use props or walls in the room more. I'm guessing all the rooms are designed in this way. Pricing could also have been more clear; ordering online includes an online ordering fee so you should probably call. There's a slight discount for 4 or more people and for veterans. And if you sign up for their rewards program you save 10% but each person has to sign up, and they have to ring each person up separately to apply the rewards so then you don't get the volume discount. While they do have locations in various states, I can't imagine visiting 5 times in a year to qualify for one free visit. Their automated purchasing system just wasn't very customer friendly.

The pool itself is one huge rectangle that goes from kiddie area( 2') to deep area (11'). On the deep side there are about 4-5 lanes setup for people that want to do laps. They have a separate small kids area with water slide and splash area. You can get a discount entrance if you have the westchester park pass. During halloween they set up a hunted forest and i loved it. one down side for me is that people bring their BBQ grills and leave them there all year and we cant use them, so usually dont know which bench is taken or not.

We had a great time at The Great Escapery. We arrived and waited at a check in area where we were given a assignment summary to look over while we waited for our game to start. The assignment summary contained information regarding our mission. This was nice because it gave us a back story and it also contained a couple of clues to help us when our game started. So we were already playing the game before the game even started. Once the game started it was really fun. There were a lot of fun puzzles. You will play with other people if you do not book the entire room but there is enough puzzles to keep everyone busy so your not getting in each others way. The space was very big (the rent out different locations in the area for their events) so we were not crowded. We had to find the stolen diamonds within an hour to win. We did it in 57 minutes. The price is not bad compared to other places - I think that's because they don't have a brick and mortar location - they just do one day events at various venues. They will also will come to your house and set up one of their escape room games which I'm thinking about doing so I don't have to leave my house! Went to one of their pop-up events and it was really fun. I have done many escape rooms before and I must say that the puzzles are set up well. Instead of solving puzzle A to get to Puzzle B there are multiple puzzles going on at once (which keeps everyone busy) and you have to solve all of the puzzles to piece together the answer for the final puzzle. Overall me and my friends had a really good time! read more

This is an interesting company. They put on one day pop up escape room events in different locations (like a mobile business). I went with my wife and teenage children and had a good time. There were a lot of different puzzles to solve so everyone was busy. The puzzles were hard but not too difficult. The staff was very friendly. Would do it again! read more

We have a team of 3 and escaped the Biohazard Room with ~11 minutes to spare. WHAT WE LOVED: The room was engaging and high quality. I personally love a room that is immersive and this room made me feel like I was THERE. The story was consistent and generally logical. There was a good amount of puzzles and they were challenging/satisfying! Oh and Christian was an absolute GEM! WHAT SETS IT APART: One of our members had a different starting place and our first mission was to get her out. Unfortunately for us, we picked the smartest one so it probably took us a bit longer than it should have... it was still different and fun! BONES TO PICK: Our person that was separated felt a little helpless and wished there was more she could do while the others flailed trying to release her. She wasn't sitting there twiddling her thumbs but she couldn't do as much as she would have wanted to. Also, this is minor but we aren't used to having to use an item more than once after its helped solve a different puzzle. For Veterans, just make sure you throw the "one and done" rule away. OVERALL: a great experience and fun for both beginners and seasoned veterans! We will go again in the future especially once the other rooms are updated!
