If you want to realize exactly how not-smart you are, I highly recommend doing two hours of Happy Hour and then attempting an escape room at Puzzle Parlor. ​We showed up after a few rounds of margaritas thinking we were going to breeze through the clues, but we were humbled REAL quick. These rooms are challenging enough when you're sober, but trying to use "margarita logic" to solve puzzles? Complete and utter failure. ​We didn't even come close to escaping, but we had the absolute best time. The staff was great and the room was super immersive (even if we were just wandering around confused for most of it). If you're looking for a hilarious night out with friends in White Plains, this is it. Just don't expect to actually win if you hit the bar first! i had suggested doing an escape room as a fun activity with my cousins and my one cousin who's local planned and booked the heist for us! many of us hadn't ever done an escape room or have been to one that sucked, so we didn't know what to expect! parking was easy--there are paid lots close by. we entered the building and it was beautifully decorated with halloween decor. it was also dimly lit, so it added to the suspenseful energy. we easily checked in with sam, had our heist thoroughly explained to us, and then we were off to "complete our mission". compared to the escape room i tried back home, this one was so immersive and had plenty of puzzles that just made sense! they were sometimes tricky, but not stressfully complex. we also liked having easy access to clues when we needed them. we finished our heist with 17 minutes to spare and we were so gasssedddddd. lol we were laughing the entire time. will definitely visit on our next trip to ny! read more

What an awesome experience! We came here for my daughter's birthday. We chose the Vampire room because it was the one available at the time we were looking to go. What an amazing time we had!!! I don't want to ruin any details for you but I highly, highly recommend doing this room!!! We escaped by the last minute!! The candles on the wall behind our heads represented our time. My husband and I had such a great time at the Puzzle Parlour! It was our first "escape room" we've ever done and we were celebrating our anniversary. Our Puzzle Parlour guide, Sam, was fantastic. He made us feel special and created an amazing experience for us. We picked "The Surgery" puzzle and it didn't disappoint. My friends and I did Surgery at The Puzzle Parlour at 4:45pm on a Saturday. One of my friends had done the Vampire room previously, but it was my other friend's and my first time here. Parking is metered around the area, so either bring quarters or have the app. Also, someone had told us that the Surgery room was scary, but when we called, the representative told us that the rooms can be scary, but you have to ask for it. As someone who is easily scared, I would recommend also requesting non-scary just to make sure. All of us have done a lot of escape rooms, so Surgery was on the easier side. I liked the decor and the commitment to the puzzles aligning with the theme of the room. Another thing I liked was that for a majority of the puzzles, it was clear what unlocked what. If you do this room and you think you solved the puzzle correctly, make sure you really look around to see if anything happened. My one critique of the room was for the puzzle that you solve to exit. I wish that puzzle was more interconnected with the room (like hinted at in some way) and not just a random annoying challenge. There is also not a lot of stuff to do for a large group and the room is linear, but I feel like it aligns with the difficulty level they marketed it at. Allie was our clue master, and she was wonderful! It was very clear she was paying attention to what we were doing and saying. In addition, she and the other staff members seemed like they were excited to be there, which always makes the experience fun. We will definitely be back to try their more challenging rooms! read more

We had such a fun time at the Puzzle Parlour! We did the alien experience escape room. It was quite the challenge and we had to ask for a few hints, and the staff did a good job giving hints without being too specific to give us the answer right away. They had water and cups in the front and a space for you to sit and wait for your room to become available. We had a great experience and will definitely be back! The Puzzle Parlour was such a great experience! Only one of our team members had done an escape room before, but once we got into a groove the time flew by in the best way. We did the Alien Conspiracy game (the hardest one) and still beat it with 4 min left. There were so many cool puzzles and features of the game, we can't wait to come back to do the others! We thought the theme was fun (creepy but not scary, which was what we wanted) and our game master was very nice. Loved this escape room!! I have done a few of these and this was one of the better ones. My group did the vampire room (I believe the easiest out of the others) and our friends did the alien room (I believe the hardest). Both groups had such a good time! The room themes were very well put together and decorations really made it fun! The staff were really helpful and made reservations easy! I also loved how you get the room to yourself and don't have to be with strangers, regardless of how many people you have. Love that we have an escape room so closeby in White Plains. We have been here atleast 3 times for my husband's birthday every year, and love the thought and creativity put into all the rooms. So far, the Vampire room has been our favorite! Our group had so much fun here! We got stuck in traffic but the staff was really nice about it and was successful in getting us all set up with enough time to escape. We had some of our friends cancel on us and the puzzle parlour was able to give us a refund which was nice. The rules and expectations were clearly communicated. We were able to escape before the allotted time was up. We did take one hint and the employee that was overseeing our room made sure it was an useful hint for how we were getting caught up. This was a surprise date night for me and my guy. We had never done an escape room before but I was looking for something different for us to do. I like The Puzzle Parlour because they don't put strangers in the room with you. If you only have two people, then that's all. It was a great experience just for us. Inattentive service - did not focus on birthday group that was in full attendance and booked a month ago- rather gave full attention to a group that walked in from the street. We had a birthday party for our 11 year old attended by 15 kids. Yasmine kept us waiting for 20 minutes while she accommodated walk-in guests. This made us late for our lunch appointment that had a domino effect with parents arriving to pick up kids that hadn't finished eating. Also the experience was not calibrated for 11 year olds with some clues needing one to take a photo to compare - which the adults could do. The clues could have been better calibrated. Absolutely loved this exciting game and business! I had previously been to one escape room, owned by the major company and my experience there left me feeling unhappy and annoyed, largely due to the people I was working with and the way that business operated. Anywho, this review is not about my dislike of "the escape room." It's about how awesome this Puzzle Parlour is! First off, this establishment, is independently owned and it shows, because it felt like a very unique and one of a kind business. Plus, it's always nice and preferable to support local business. I was in a party of 3 and the establishment had no problem accommodating that. The 3 of us had our own game room. At the other widespread company, "escape room," would not allow that. Their corporation would have forced us to work with strangers, to form a larger group... No thank you! A financial issue that should be mentioned is the following - The cost per person changes when booking, due to the amount of people in your group. For example, in my party of 3, each of us had to pay a fee of about $37 plus tax. Yet, if you have a larger group, each participant will pay a smaller fee. Continuing with my example - If we had 6 players in our group, one would only have had to pay about $25 each. PARKING and LOCATION was a little bit difficult for me. Thus, I will make a quick mention that might be helpful. First, there is a fairly large public parking lot right beside the shop window, on Court Street. Just to mention, you may notice that the parking lot happens to be placed directly behind a Chase bank. Anyways, once in the parking lot, the business is to the immediate right. At Puzzle Parlour, I was interested in the themes they offered much more than I had been at other escape businesses. We chose the Vampire escape game. From the very beginning, since initially walking in, the staff were sincerely friendly and felt down to earth. As was said to us, the game is a mental one, and not a physical one. In all games, you are given 60 minutes to win the game by successfully completing an ongoing list of tasks. I think patience is a virtue in working on this game. Try not to let panic or anxiety play too big a role! On the Puzzle Parlor website, you may choose the difficulty level you are looking for. That level will influence, or even dictate, the theme of the game. Without giving anything away, or providing any spoilers, I will mention just a couple of things relevant to the playing of the game. Puzzles typically expand themselves, in that the initial room you begin in, will likely open up to another room, if you complete enough objectives. Also, you are allowed to be given clues as you go through your game. The hints may come in writing, or vocally from speakers above. You are able to request clues but we were recommended to ask about 3-5. I'm glad to say that my group did escape from our puzzle experience, with about 2 minutes left on the clock. I would absolutely return here but I would ensure that the friends I went with were not ones with a propensity to be bossy, abrupt, or overbearing. The last little note I have is - be careful not to put any of the game keys in your pockets!! I inadvertently did that but they soon phoned me and I brought it right back. Embarrassing but the staff member didnt make me feel that way. :) read more

We love the Puzzle Parlour! My partner and I had been looking for escape room options for "date nights," and are so glad we found this place. So far, we've been twice (Vampire, Surgery), and will absolutely be back for the rest! All the staff members we've encountered are friendly, patient, encouraging, and kind. The amount of detail and thought put into our rooms was very much evident and provided for a fun challenge. Only wish is that they would either add new rooms, or periodically modify/update the existing rooms such that players can re-play the room solving different clues. Additionally, some of the rooms could probably use better soundproofing. It can kind of take you out of the moment when you hear other teams chatting as you're working on your own escape. read more

My Partner: 10+ rooms, but really good at it. Communicates well. Better searcher than I am (by far) Parking: Tons. Customer Service: Probably better than any escape room I've ever been to. Michelle helped with the booking. By far one of the sweetest individuals I've met in a long time. Was also the game master. More on that later. Game #1: The Heist (pt 1) Result: Solved the main game in 37 minutes. (And total game a bit after...) The good: This game added a new type of puzzle / obstacle I haven't seen before. And it added a degree of difficulty in keeping up with it. It also added a plot path if you are successful or not. The puzzles made sense and were fun. Well thought out. The tech was both fun and worked well (without being overkill) The not so good: There was one puzzle that wasn't clued in well enough that took a little bit longer than needed. We knew exactly what to do, but how to do it wasn't clear and could use a little tightening. The even better: The owner asked about it, and agreed and will work on making better. Score. A responsive and fun owner. Also, the accent from our game master was hysterical and amazing. Game #2: Alien Invasion Result: Solved the game in 38 minutes. The good: Multi-step puzzles. Difficult but doable. Logically flowing. Tech that was very solid (and flashy at some points). Interesting story line. The not so good: Again, There was one puzzle that wasn't clued in well enough that took a little bit longer than needed. We knew exactly what to do, but how to do it wasn't clear and could use a little tightening. LOVE this place. My job did this as a team bonding exercise. We ended up doing the doctor one. The majority of us didn't really know each other. After and during the event, we had PLENTY to talk about. The only thing I can compare this to is 5 Witts in the Palisades, but 100x times better. Honestly, I've played all the "can you escape" games on my phone, so my thought process is there and I know what to do. Story short: Super interactive, super fun, super different, communication is KEY. This is one of those kinds of events where you should really give it your all. Just JUMP into it and literally start thinking. Recommend: Maybe like a group of four or something. We were a group of 6 and we somehow made it work LOL.
