I visited Deadlocked today and did the Biohazard room. Upon arriving, we were greeted by such a friendly guy (wish I remembered his name). He was down to earth and took time to get to know us. The lobby was decorated nicely (but not crazy). After signing our forms and getting a briefing, we received a story about the room and were placed into a very cool bio lab. From there on, the room was DIFFICULT. We had 4 players altogether and it was tough! We were one puzzle away from winning the game but our time ran out! We are what you would call...enthusiasts. We have 40+ rooms under our belts as a crew and we definitely aren't slowing down. We have a team of 3 and escaped the Biohazard Room with ~11 minutes to spare. WHAT WE LOVED: The room was engaging and high quality. I personally love a room that is immersive and this room made me feel like I was THERE. The story was consistent and generally logical. There was a good amount of puzzles and they were challenging/satisfying! Oh and Christian was an absolute GEM! WHAT SETS IT APART: One of our members had a different starting place and our first mission was to get her out. Unfortunately for us, we picked the smartest one so it probably took us a bit longer than it should have... it was still different and fun! BONES TO PICK: Our person that was separated felt a little helpless and wished there was more she could do while the others flailed trying to release her. She wasn't sitting there twiddling her thumbs but she couldn't do as much as she would have wanted to. Also, this is minor but we aren't used to having to use an item more than once after its helped solve a different puzzle. For Veterans, just make sure you throw the "one and done" rule away. OVERALL: a great experience and fun for both beginners and seasoned veterans! We will go again in the future especially once the other rooms are updated! read more

ESCAPETHEROOMers were excited to have finally made it to Deadlocked Escape Rooms in August 2019. They have a nice store front with plenty of parking in the back. They have an entrance in the front and the back of their location. You couldn't really tell from the front area, but it was quite spacious inside. We loved the turquoise green color the owners chose as wall color as it really brightened up the place. Currently, they have three games available and we are trying two of them today. The first room we attempted was their "Biohazard" room (their newest room). We were lured here by a weird bio scientist Dr. Hope and it seemed like he has been developing gene therapies and have been using humans as trial subjects! We must escape his lab before we become his "guinea pigs". As we entered the lab, all the props used were relatable to the story line. We were afraid that we should have studied a bit more in our Science classes with all the chemical elements that were displayed around but everything you needed was in the room. There were a good mix use of lock and tech in the room which we thought was well balanced. If you are good at searching, this could be very helpful as we bluntly missed one viable piece but was able to use process of elimination to still get the answer. There was an incident that I was able to look for an answer for one puzzle prior to getting there in term of the flow even though it was hard to see. If that could be prevented somehow, it would help perfect the flow of the game. As we progressed on, we thought we were done... but that was not the case! We liked the few added puzzles at the end as it created a conclusion to the story. In all, it was an enjoyable experience and we escaped with a good amount of time left on the clock. For this room, our recommended size would be 3 people (4 being max) as it could get a bit snuggly in the latter part. We can't wait to see what the second room "Wrongfully Accused" has in store for us... Our next room is "Wrongfully Accused". We found out that our private investigator partner was brutally murdered last night and somehow, we became the prime suspects. We must get into the Stamford office where he was murdered to find evidence to clear our names. The room was nicely maintained like a typical office space. We were clearly guided with hints for our starting points. You really needed to turn your mindset into a detective as there's a lot of searching involved in this room. There was one particular hint system for a puzzle that we felt probably wouldn't be necessary for enthusiasts groups as it did waste a bit of time for us to put together only to find out it wasn't really necessary as we were able to solve that puzzle without it. Perhaps this could be taken out, pending on the player's desired level of difficulty. We liked how all the puzzles and props used were relatable to the storyline. There was one prop that required pretty good vision as the answers were quite small, and Brandon wasn't able to see it but if someone in your group has good vision you won't have an issue. We were able to successfully free ourselves with time left on the clock with just the two of us. Due to the size of the room, I would say 2-3 people is good enough with 4 being the max. We did take a peek at their third room "Lost Treasure of Captain Lawrence" and it looked like a lot fun. This one is much more spacious and probably preferred by family and kids. We had a great time at Deadlocked Escape ... so great we are going back. We are new to this ... This is a great form of entertainment ... beats dinner and a movie in every respect. The owners of Deadlocked do a fantastic job from an impeccably maintained location to informing newcomers on how this works to actual escape. Incredibly inventive presentation in the escape room and definitely challenging. It takes real effort to get through ... which we did not! But the goal is the actual experience ... completing the escape was not really our expectation. But 90 percent of the way was a good outcome. Our group was four ... wife and two kids and my guess is the kids (12 and 14) were more productive than the two adults. That alone made it awesome to experience. I highly recommend escapes as an out of the house evening. If trying the experience Deadlocked is top tier. Adding in this as well ... it is a good feeling to see a local business starting up, building a good reputation the old fashioned way that will succeed. Went there today and it was awesome. Three rooms and we did "lost treasure". Great detail in the room theme, creative and challenging puzzles, & great staff. Brought my two kids (9 & 11) and my brother. We all had a blast. Will be looking to come back and do the other three. Excellent experience! Clean and friendly waiting room. You do have to give up your iPhone to a box with the owner in the front. So don't go if you are waiting for an important text. The bathroom is big, clean and well decorated. The room was great and entertaining! We did the Lost Treasure room. Will be going back for more fun! read more

We did the detective room. The puzzle was challenging for us-group of 5 ages 12-50. We just made it out with 2 minutes to spare. Very clean and well thought out puzzle. We had to wear a mask and thankfully they provided gloves as we didn't know we needed them. Very fun. read more

Awesome escape room experience. The location is clean, the staff is personable, and the Lost Treasure room was really exciting. The hour flew by and everyone in our group was busy. There is a large variety of puzzles so that everyone can break out and do their own thing and the room is themed quite well. We hope to come back next time we can all get together. read more

Second escape room in 4 days, and this was far and above the better one. Nice facility, friendly faces, and challenging puzzles that take a bit of thinking and consolidating all of the information around. To be honest, when I walked in the room I did not have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and ongoing challenges. I'll be back! read more

There rooms are themed very well but there puzzles are not that good. For example there is one box with 3 locks on it. This means that when you find one key or combination it goes to one of the locks and then you are lost. When we did the room we had to use all 3 clues just to open up the box because we did not know were to go after we solved one lock. I have done over 35 escape rooms and the experience was good but I would recommend going to a different place in Connecticut if you are willing to take a longer drive. read more

So much fun!!! We did the Lost Treasure of Captain Lawrence room for a birthday party and it was really cool! Girls had a blast and the clues were challenging and clever and really made you think! The staff was great, clean and inviting place. Clues were given on a tv screen if needed and we were in the room for a full hour. Had so much fun the girls wanted to return for more! We had a great time doing the "wrongfully accused" Room. I took my 3 kids ages 11,14,17 and all of us had fun working together to figure out the locks. When we got stuck, the clues were great to get us restarted. The facility is bright and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a rainy summer weekday, but I was able to book a same day reservation. This was my first time in an escape room but 2 of my kids had done them before at other places and they liked this place best. We can't wait to come back and try another room! read more
