I have visited this location very few times but every time it just gets better. Patrick one of the employees was generous enough to show us some of the unique walls they offer to climb he was also more than happy to help belay one of us as well. If you're ever looking to have a fun and creative way to get a good work out I recommend this location. It's fitness disguised as fun.

Not a bad place if you live in the area considering the alternative is to go to New Rochelle or to drive to the city. Climbs range from 5.5 to 5.12b for top roping and lead climbing and v0 to v8 for bouldering. The climbs are color coded by the color of the holds which is not the most efficient use of wall space. New routes are also not set frequently but this may be due to the low traffic. Never really busy which is nice. Day passes for adults are $19 which is pricey so it makes sense to go for the annual membership if you are an avid climber.

BLUF: Awesome gym for a wide range of climbing skills. Friendly staff and clean facility makes this a must go when I am near by. I was recently at Rock Climb Fairfield for a CCS competition and was impressed by my first visit to this gym. First of all, Rock Climb Fairfield is located in a trendy plaza full of fitness gyms including specialities in MMA, cross fit, yoga, and a variety of healthy restaurants and shops. All the buildings and establishments seem fairly new! At first, we were surprised that a climbing gym would be located here since all the buildings seemed to be a bit short. However, Rock Climb Fairfield is tucked away towards the back of the plaza and definitely has adequate facilities. There are two floors to the gym. On the first floor, there's a variety of bouldering walls with ropes for lead and top rope climbing lining the walls. Into a annex, there's a room with a top out boulder. On the second floor, there's an open area with tables and benches where you can rest and lockers to store personal items. There's also more rope climbs on the second floor as well as a few cardio machines. The climbs range from 5.5-5.13 or so with bouldering problems upwards of v7. There's a wide range of problems to accommodate all skill levels so don't be shy if you are a novice. All the employees have unique and skilled setting abilities to continuously set new problems. Additionally, if you need to get new gear, this is a great place to try and purchase since their prices mirror retail. Thanks for the great experience guys.

This is the literal only gym I've ever been to that just drapes the top-ropes over the anchors, rather than looping them over once. (And I used to climb at the Movement in San Francisco which this was NOT the case at.) This creates a HUGE issue for the lighter weight climber when belaying, and is frankly so scary it's made me not like climbing anymore. All they offer are some giant, dirty kettlebells for you to lug around with you, but that only (kind of) stops you from launching in the air. It doesn't prevent the extreme amount of friction you have to fight through the Grigri. I've never even had this much of a problem lead climbing, because we can use an ohm, which you can't use top roping because it pins the rope to the wall which is unsafe for the climber. When I brought up this concern to someone who works there they shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal, and said "oh well it's better because lowering is faster this way" uh... okay, but it's not better if i'm literally fighting for my life simply to lower my partner and not kill them or be launched into the air?? but yeah, lowering faster is nice, sure. I want so badly to like this gym, but the complete lack of regard for safety is mind-boggling. The biggest shame is that it's the only gym of it's type in the area so it's either climb here unsafely, or don't climb at all. Shame on Movement Corporate for not doing more to regulate the safety at their gyms.

Great time here at the Rock Club…read more Purchased a Groupon and decided to visit on a Friday morning. Called ahead and the front desk staff were very quick in getting back to me to confirm that a belayer was available at that time. They also confirmed the Groupon over the phone. I went ahead and completed the required waiver forms online prior to our visit. Adequate parking was available at that time. The Rock Club (downstairs) shares its space with a with a tennis club, so make sure you follow the ramp down toward the Rock Club entrance and NOT the stairs whih leads to the tennis club. We arrived at around 10am and it was fairly empty. The Rock Club staff explained the process and set us up with climbing shoes. We were then introduced to our belayer who was awesome. Over the next hour, we tried climbs ranging in difficulty. The wall heights range from about 35-40 feet and the peg placement and wall angles vary throughout the climbs, making some more difficult than others. We even had some time to try some bouldering. Our belayer was great at explaining techniques and technical terms. She was very patient and very encouraging...though not "pushy" at all. After we finished, the staff was nice enough to show us around to see what else was available at the facility: childrens area, common areas, training rooms and weight rooms. May go without saying...wear comfy clothes. As a regular gym-goer, but someone who has NOT climbed before, this was a welcomed challenge. Certain muscles, particularly the forearms and core, may not be part of the typical gym regimen...but are very important in climbing...that being said, I was definitely feeling it the next day. Overall we had a great experience at the Rock Club. We will deinifitely look into other classes. Kudos to all the staff members there.
