this experience at escapade games was amazing it was so fun. the escape room zoe was so scary and it was a real fright fest. We went with a group 4 and that was a perfect amount. i did this escape room before with my boyfriend and two peoplewas even scarier. this is definitely a good room if you're looking for a good scare or something to do on the weekend. Avi was so amazing he was our game master and uncle robert all at once and he truly did such an amazing job. he make this experience one of the best escape rooms i've ever had.He was so accommodating of our fears and made sure this was fun and worth every penny. This escape room is a hidden gem in Orange County. I love doing escape rooms and I wanted my boyfriend to experience one for the first time and this place is a great first time experience. We did The Invention Room which was really fun. This was an absolute BLAST! My friends and I booked the 8pm slot on Halloween Day. We had an amazing time. They really outdid themselves with the scares throughout our game. The puzzles gradually went from not too bad to pretty challenging and I wouldn't have it any other way. Shout out to our host Jorin for breaking down the rules and setting up the scenario, our main actor Logan for giving us a good scare, and all the other actors involved that day. Our group of 7 did Zoe Reborn and absolutely loved it. Three of us had done the original Zoe 5 years ago and felt they really stepped it up 1000 notches. The space is epic and really makes you feel like you're in a haunted house. We opted for the extreme version with the taser. The taser was not bad like we had imagined at first. It was similar to a shock pen, according to my friends. (I didn't get tased). This is a very physical room, so be prepared to run, hide and crawl. We seek out the more intense horror rooms and felt this was in the top 3 of horror rooms we've done. Leo was the actor in our room and gave us a lot of good scares! After unknowingly booking the Halloween version of the game (which was my fault!), I was super apprehensive. BUT V anwsered every question I had and made my group feel extremely comfortable enough to want to do the Halloween version! Now... the room...... By far the best escape room I have ever done. It was long, there were so many things to do, and our fantastic actor Jacob kept us on edge and frightened for the whole game. Without spoilers-- there are so many moments that I'll never forget and were so scary and creative. Also our GM V was lovely and was a helping hand in the walkee talkee but only when necessary and it didn't feel like we were straight up given anwsers. Updating my review after playing the next chapter of this escape room, ZOE: REBORN. Wow... I loved the original Zoe but this is a large expansion and an even bigger step up! If you've ever wished you could live out surviving a horror movie, this is the experience for you. I've done many haunts over the years and this easily tops them all. Terrifying and immersive. The puzzles in Zoe: Reborn are clever and well-thought out, and while they aren't insanely difficult, solving them while being terrorized by Uncle Robert is another story... Luckily there is a very generous hint system and they very much want everyone to get through the whole thing. The set design, gameplay, atmosphere, and dedication of the live actors is impeccable, and to sustain that over 100 minutes is quite the feat. Zoe has ruined horror escape rooms for me in the future because frankly they won't live up, but we're all looking forward to going back for the Krampus re-theme during the holidays! It's amazing how much the actors can make or break the game. THEN: 2 amazing actors, 1 small guy playing Zoe and 1 big guy playing Uncle. NOW: 1 average actor, nobody playing Zoe, 1 small person playing Uncle. THEN: Foyer scene had darkness followed by brief strobe light on Uncle in the distance, then darkness followed by brief strobe light on Uncle closer, then darkness followed by brief strobe light on Uncle in your face. Nice and scary! NOW: Foyer scene had darkness followed by steady dim light on Uncle slowly walking towards you, then walking away. Not scary. THEN: Room had freaky sounds coming from it before entering. NOW: Room had no freaky sounds THEN: Room slammed behind you and Zoe reaching in at you. And Zoe waiting for you if you try to leave the room. NOW: No door slam. No Zoe whatsoever. THEN: Entering pentagram area while Zoe chases you in NOW: No Zoe whatsoever. THEN: Uncle chasing you through burn area. NOW: No Uncle at this point. THEN: Scared to return to pentagram because of all the freaky stuff that happened so far. Then Zoe waiting for you in Pentagram and holding the final object that you have to take out of her hand. Nice and Scary! I had already been to the first iteration of this escape room years ago, so it was a great surprise to see just how much has evolved over the years. This new location is larger with fancier tricks up its sleeves. But even with new tech, Escapade Games knows how to harness more practical ideas to increase tension, like darkness, interactions, and even temporarily separating groups. Niko, our Uncle Robert for that night, somehow snuck into every room we were in! Anytime we felt safe, he'd lunge at us from a random corner. He was great! His Zoe counterpart (sorry! I didn't catch your name!) was just as maniacal, and her cackling made us feel so uneasy whenever we'd have to cross her. We had such a great time! Admittedly, the puzzles took a little bit of grunt work for our group, but our game master knew how to usher the storyline and the solving of the puzzles forward without taking us out of the immersiveness. My boyfriend and I did Zoe: Reborn with just us two and it was FANTASTIC. Exactly what you are looking for if you love fun, scary, haunt-like extended dreams. It felt so intuitive, the scare actors were always in character and phenomenal, and it never felt frustrating. From the moment you step into that house, it's game on until the end. Only good scary fun!! Special shout out to our scare actors (we went on a Sunday and booked for 4 people, so we had three!!!), I think they were Jacob, Ross, and also a girl with a name starting with a C (sorry you were fantastic too I'm just bad with names!!). The game is FULL of interaction -- the whole THING is interactive. I promise, even if you think you are faint of heart, they will get you through it. Just don't fight against what the voices tell you to do... If you are going with only 2 people, it's perfect. More would be perfect too, but the separation aspects of the game and puzzles make it a great date for two people. They REALLY make you feel like you're in it together. The GM got us through the game with in-character delivery of hints (I'm sorry, I can't quite remember his name but he was great), had some GREAT tricks up his sleeve so we didn't get complacent or comfortable, and we did not even have to think about the time limit because the story was driving us forward. James (I may be mis remembering some of these names) was also helpful before the game in explaining the rules, expectations, and how to ask for help and tap out if needed. The story's pacing was excellent, it was so much fun, and we were still talking about it days later. Some notes : wear pants/leggings not shorts, wear shoes not flip flops. I wore a long sleeve shirt and was comfortable. Be prepared for anything, go in with an open mind and have fun with it :) The puzzles are very intuitive, so it's ok to get scared and enjoy the immersive haunt aspect of this one fully! read more

First I want to say that my friend and I had accidentally bamboozled ourselves and signed up for this thinking it was going to be an AI escape room experience, bc we mixed it up with another escape room in Fullerton lol. We had the night slot for 9:30 so when we arrived, entered the building, and saw all the creepy decorations we quickly realized we might have made a mistake. BUT we're no quitters haha, so we decided to still do the room bc we paid for it and based on the description of the room and the warnings we thought it would be fun to do the extreme version. But the reality was slightly different from our expectations so thats why I'm writing this review. They did mention the extreme mode had a little taser that would be used by the actor and it was described as being similar in feeling to those old school toy fake gums that have a little zappy vibration when you try to grab the gum. So we thought ok the taser is going to be a fun small shock which we were totally cool with bc it added to the horror experience. However, in reality the taser itself hurt a lot more than we expected based on the description. Keep in mind I had a jean jacket on and my friend had a cotton sweatshirt so the very first time my friend was zapped she let out a loud sound of pain and I got worried but we continued. The zaps were quite frequent and specifically towards the end where we made our final dash away, the actor continuously hit my back with it and by that point I was trying to escape the pain not the room which was a downside. PLUS afterwards we looked at the places we got hit and there were definitely small red welts and the area where I got hit continuously in the back hurt a lot even after we left. There was also this one particular area we had to go through that I could see they tried to make safer with mats but to be honest I think needs some changing. Bc it's a horror based escape room most ppl will rush out of this tunnel-like area in fear very quickly, like me, and bc it's a good distance from the ground when you rush out it's basically hands and face first straight to the floor. For me, in my fear to get away from the actor I rushed out of the tunnel, launched myself straight out, hit the back of my right ear on the bookshelf near the wall and all I felt was straight pain. I stayed on the floor for a few minutes bc it hurt a lot but I also wanted to finish so once it eased up I kept going. I think adrenaline also played a part in reducing the pain but if I had hit that shelf at any other angle I could have really hurt my face or head so it has a high potential for injury. Afterwards during the photo and question time the workers also mentioned that area was where most ppl got hurt and how someone even needed stitches, so my friend and I both thought that clearly it needs rethinking/remodeling if people keep getting hurt there! If I set aside the pain from the taser and when I hit the shelf, the room was very well decorated and fit the horror theme nicely. The actor was also very good at their role, oh and the puzzles throughout the room were also quite easy so if you're looking for a nice scare without having to think too much about solving the puzzles then this escape room would be a match. Maybe on normal or easy mode I could give this a higher rating but for my experiences with how I thought it extreme mode was going to play out vs what actually happened I just can't go higher than 3 stars. We did the Zoe Reborn escape room for my birthday with a group of 4. They convinced us to try the "Lights Out" version of the game to intensify our experience. We wanted the scariest version of the game, and boy did we get it. This escape room was another level of scary. I'm a huge horror movie fan and have always searched for ways to feel that thrill of inserting myself into a real life horror film and feel that adrenaline rush of being one of the characters. Zoe Reborn does just that with its incredible sets and talented actors. Our game master Nico, Matt, Sage, Jakob were beyond incredible. They almost knew how to perfectly play on all of our fears in a clever and specific way. The full contact created such a unique and once in a lifetime experience for those that are true escape room/horror fans. When they say this isn't a "normal" escape room, it is not a lie.
