Entrance for Sev3n and Jester escape rooms
    Doug B.

We came to No. 1 Escapes a few months ago to do their Carnage Cabin room and had a great time. They were offering a fall discount, so we took advantage and returned to do their Sev3n room. Regardless of which room you do here, be sure to check the directions as most of their rooms are at one location, and Sev3n and Jester are in a different building a few blocks away. The two games in this building are also upstairs. This room is based on the popular movie Se7en. I hadn't seen the movie in years so we watched it a few nights before just to get a refresher. Knowledge of the movie is not necessarily required, but you will relate to the room better and be a little more prepared. When you ask for clues, they are provided using voices of characters from the movie which was a great touch. The overall room is a mix of linear and non-linear with various locks and even more mechanical puzzles. This room had a lot of unique puzzles that we hadn't seen anywhere else. There are a ton of puzzles, and they kept our team of four very busy to the very last minute. This room also has the largest number of sub-rooms we have ever encountered. We weren't sure if we were going to escape in time, but we managed to solve the final puzzle with only one minute left. We didn't feel so dumb when we learned that this is their hardest room out of the six different rooms they have. Definitely bring your "A" game for Sev3n! Our game master Callie was excellent. She started us out great, was very timely on clues when requested, and we enjoyed discussing different elements of the room with her afterwards. She said she had only been working there for a short time, but she seemed like a seasoned veteran to us. We were again offered a 30% return discount. Be sure to check their website as they frequently have promotions. We will definitely return soon to do their other rooms.

Such a great escape room ! Thank you so much for an amazing experience. Andrea was a great game master. The game we did was the battle ship and we did the competitive part of their game and it was really fun and the puzzles were really hard but it was a lot of puzzles to solve to try and get items so your team can win. My team won so it was great. I can't wait to come back to try their other games ! Thank you no.1 escape for an awesome experience. You will see more of me and my family in the foreseeable future.

Loved the layout of the room and the interesting puzzles they created for us. Very accommodating staff, they provided hints only if the whole party agrees to it and the room that we chose was the Jester which split us up into two groups which was a refreshing take on the usual layout. We got a groupon which made the price significantly cheaper but they do provide a coupon code for 30% off if you come back.

**** Cabin Carnage Room Review**** This room is not for younger kids, PG 13 for sure! We recently celebrated my daughter's 14th birthday at this escape room, the experience was super rad! She and her friends had a great time and couldn't stop talking about it all night. They did not escape the "Carnage Cabin" room, which is rated 7/10 in difficulty, they did make it to the last room. I was surprised they made it that far. So it's for sure hard but definitely escapable: I would highly recommend the "Carnage Cabin" . Customer Service: Our host was helpful and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. She was not overly enthusiastic, but she was professional and informative, which we appreciated. With a group of 14 year olds Keeping their attention is hard. The young man assisting her was also great, he understood their excitement and was super helpful. Suggestion: It would be helpful to have a sign reminding guests to keep quiet when walking up the stairs, as this might avoid confusion for first-time visitors. This would have saved us from our interaction with a staff member in the G1 building. While I understand the need to maintain a quiet environment, his approach was unnecessarily aggressive. As a parent, I found his behavior toward the young ladies inappropriate and unprofessional. This was a super important day for my daughter, so I decided to not confront him and keep my head cool. This was the only downside to an otherwise a fun experience. Overall, we had a great time, and we're definitely planning to come back. Thank you everyone in the F1 building for helping make my daughter's birthday special.

Did two separate rooms within 2 weeks and absolutely loved all of these. Katherine was our game master for Jester and it was very intricate, you start separated and it was a very rewarding escape room. The second one we did was Devlin manor which Liv was our game master for and the story and room for this one was unreal. It's on the same block but the backside of the building that jester is located. When you walk into the buildings it almost looks a little "rinky dinky" because it's an older office building, but fear not--these have been some of the most intricate and amusing rooms I've done. I'm really impressed with the rooms and the level of detail and thought that went into them. We definitely needed some clues on each one and are looking forward to going back to complete the Devlin Manor trilogy! We had so much fun!

Peak into the Delvin Manor room

My boyfriend and I did the Delvin Manor escape room and finished with 3 seconds to spare ! Kate did an amazing job setting the atmosphere of what our experience was going to be like. In addition to all the help she gave while we were in the room. This room was very intricate with the puzzles from other escape rooms we have done. Definitely would come back again to finish the Delvin manor series they have !

The manager Daniela is so nice and has helped us as we've done both the Devlin Manor and Carnage Cabin. The puzzles are amazing and each experience has been so much fun. I can't wait for the upcoming opening of The Fortune Teller in the next month or so. I loved how these rooms tied into each other's storyline that it made you want to come back to do all of the rooms. I look forward to completing them all.

We came here on a causal Saturday. We actually never knew this little mall existed. We went for a brunch at Lagu Cafe, and was interested in a shop called Zillymonkey in the same mall, so we were taking a walk. My partner and I had been talking about missing escape room experiences (we have already done around 60 escape rooms), and it was kind of perfect that we found this place by chance. We stopped by, and there were perfect time slots available for both rooms, so we decided to do the room, Jester's Revenge, and we enjoyed it so much that we came back after going to Zillymonkey and finished Revolution. Both rooms were the perfect amount of mentally engaging, and both the game master, Jeff, and the owner, David, made the experience fun and amazing! I highly recommend these escape rooms! Thank you so much for the amazing experience. We will definitely be back for future rooms!

Their main lobby has lockers to store any belongings you don't want to carry around for the following hour. They have two rooms here and we decided to do the "Irvine School of Wizardry and the Dragon Wand" room. The entrance for this room is at the back of the building. After checking in, you will go back out the front door, and your game master will lead you outside and around to a door at the back of the building. The initial room is unique with its very high ceiling which gives it a very spacious feel. It makes great use of every square inch of space with great themed décor and interaction. While it has some traditional puzzles, a good part of the flow is pretty different than your average escape room. You discover, put together, and figure out what spells to cast when and where. You even get to mix up some real potions. Our game master Habby was friendly and very helpful as we needed quite a few nudges. I think we went a little over an hour, but we were close, so he graciously gave us a little extra time to finish up and escape. Anybody who is into the wizardry theme will absolutely love this room. For a small group of two, their rooms are expensive at $60 per person. But the price drops to $40 per person for three or more. As spacious as the first room is, I think the remainder would become crowded with any more than four people. We had a real fun time doing this room. Their other "Irvine School of Wizardry and the Goblin's Secrets" room has a little higher difficulty level, so we'll bring a few friends along when we return to try that one. If you are tired of the run of the mill escape rooms with mostly just locks, this room at Hidden Donkey definitely is a breath of fresh air and worth a try.

I did my homework, downloaded the Morty app, combed through reviews there and here on Yelp, and this one stood out as the best option for just two people. I didn't want to risk a "meh" room or get paired up with random strangers. Without giving anything away: - Wear comfy clothes you don't mind crawling around in - If you need reading glasses, definitely bring them, it can be a little dim in places - I don't think I'd do this room with more than 3 people, I feel like 2 is perfect We barely made it out... with 10 seconds to spare! Every time we come to the Escape Game and try a new room, we are blown away by the tech they use. It's not-your-average mom & pop escape room, and for that reason we LOVE it. It operates with a first-come reservation basis, but each room has a max of 8-12 players. This means that you can bring your whole group in, and there's a chance you might have some strangers joining you as well if there's still space. We tend to wait last minute and book the rooms with no reservations yet so we can try to do them on our own. This time, our game keepers Ally and Marcy were so sweet and helpful. Games start pretty on time, so make sure to be there with waivers signed! Also, they occasionally offer 20% off your next game once you escape the first! These games lean more on the tech side utilizing digital screens, electronic doors/buttons, lights, and puzzles - all of which I love! It adds more flavor to the game, while still providing the traditional puzzles feel with some rooms having locks, ropes, and mind-tingling puzzles. I would venture to say I like having more physical handheld clues like papers or props for decoding, but this place does get the job done. Some of the puzzles even require you to work simultaneously with your escape room team which creates more thrill! I have had friends that have gone here to the same rooms I have done where the rooms are slightly changed depending on the amount of people in the room or if the tech is broken - so just be aware that your experience could be different than others. For the price of about $42 a person you can't go wrong since there are multiple options that vary in difficulty from 3/10 to 9/10. Overall would recommend especially for a quick fun nigh
