I went to eat at howllin Ray's and came across this lovely place. Anyone that knows me knows that I love my yerba mate!!!! This place was pretty great.i bought this huge 64oz. And was well spent 18$ I got the strawberry lime. Very good they will be there till December and farmers markets look them up to see where they are. They dont have a standing store. :( read more

What a beautiful tea spot. I love the mural on the wall and Tiffany, who served me, was very sweet and friendly. I tried out the cocoa mate latte and their empanadas ( spinach and mushroom) which were delicious and refreshing. I must go back to try out other flavors! They serve fresh brewed Yerba Mate I ordered a Passion fruit Yerba and it was everything I needed for a pick me upper. Fresh mint and a slice of orange made it even better. My FAVE. My partner and I are hooked. We love pretty much all the flavors and it's always a debate if we should try something new or go with our go-tos (Strawberry Lime, Hibiscus, Passionfruit when they have it....). We're a big fan of mixing flavors too. The Erva folks have been working really hard for a few years to create awesome drinks made with high quality good-for-you fair trade ingredients, and it SHOWS. I was waiting in line for a car wash across the street and noticed their store front. I love mate and had not had it in a while. Decided to give it a try. I was warmly greeted by the owners. They both had really good energy, which is important to me. I ordered 2 empanadas (shroom and pomodoro), and a growler of the spearmint/mint mate. The empanadas were delicious. The tea was super refreshing and flavorful. I believe their teas are all organic. Will definitely be back. read more

The flavor of the mate isn't too strong, it's actually very subtle. And the flavors they offer are refreshing and not too sweet so it's a perfect drink to enjoy. Erva brew co. Is amazing! I had no idea what yerba mate was until I went into Erva brew co. In pasadena. They are located on colorado and sierra madre with a extremely friendly and personable staff. They have the tea on tap, and mix whatever flavor you want from the menu. I got the hibiscus tea, and the flavor is super refreshing in this heatwave! I also got their empanadas, and cookies. The food is also as good as their tea. What I like most about this place is that even though I had no idea what I was buying, or what was good for my taste, they took the time to educate, and recommend based off the questions I was asking. Juan is very personable, and made me feel comfortable for a first time yerba drinker. I also felt very safe when I was in the store. They have all the safety precautions in place during covid. They practice social distancing, have shields while you interact, gloves, and face masks being used. Great place, friendly people, and great drinks! Highly recommend this place! read more

This Yerba mate kiosk has amazing service and an amazing product! The barista let me sample five different teas and they were all good. The hot chocolate is sweet and warm and perfect for the cooler weather. The apple cider is what I went with and it tastes like apples straight from the orchard. Not too much cinnamon or sweetener. The strawberry lime was also excellent. It's in a perfect spot because it's right next to the giant Howlin' Ray's line and give the anxious people waiting a nice treat. Very good quality. I tried them at Vegan Sunday in NoHo. I was waiting for my food from the booth next door when an employee asked if I wanted to try a sample. I'm not much of a fan of sweetened teas, but I was thirsty so I agreed. Oh my god am I so happy I did. I tried the guava (which he informed me is seasonal), hibiscus lemon, and strawberry lime. Erva is my favorite place to get tea in Los Angeles. Their energizing and caffeinated Yerba Mate is out of this world, and every flavor is phenomenal, all are sweetened perfectly and even the unsweetened mint still has a tremendous flavor! I suggest Erva to anyone I meet in LA or traveling to LA. They consistently work the Brentwood, CSUN, and Mel Rose Trading post markets, but I follow their Instagram @drinkerva to catch them at any music festival I may be attending. Drink more maté!
