Heard the hype for years. Man was I disappointed. Got 3 empanadas. They fry not bake their empanadas. Took a while to get our order despite just 1 more guest in the dining room. Walked up to the cashier and asked her if our to-go order was almost ready since we had been waiting and the guest that got there after us had already been served. It is always such a disappointment when place give you soggy tasting empanadas. The spicy chimichurri was more like hot sauce and neither of us enjoyed it. However, we loved their regular chimichurri! The breakfast one was better than I expected, but it didn't taste like there was chorizo in it. We think they may have accidentally given us soychorizo instead. The birria empanada was really flavorful and had great quality meat. Bf and my absolute favorite is their mushroom empanadas, which has huge pieces of mushrooms inside. I definitely also found a second favorite in their new chicken Alfredo empanada on this last trip there, which reminded me of a warm chicken pot pie! They have these unique flavors. 3 of us ate 2 dozen and we had to take some home but after trying the first dozen we got another 12 to try the other flavors and get the ones we liked again. My favorites were pizza, spicy black bean, beef (traditional style), and summer special tuna melt (I'm a sucker for tuna melts). The hot sauce and the chimichurri are really good too. They got some dessert ones too that I thought was fine but I like savory stuff more so I might skip them next time. The beef stroganoff was surprisingly good as well. I was staying at a friend's house and they were making fajitas for dinner. I was on my way to their place, trying to figure out what I should bring. Tried this spot for the first time and it was quite enjoyable! They have a ton of unique empanada options, and the size was pretty decent too. We got the beef, pizza, apple, and Nutella, and everything came out hot and freshly made. The beef empanada came with a chimichurri sauce that paired perfectly with the filling. For the record, the multiple times that we've had people order for the office we've had the sweet ones & They've been excellent! We did see one person walk in for a pick up order while there. One of the tables had light fixtures on top- idk, maybe they're remodeling ? I know their parking lot is getting redone... so maybe? The parking lot is small and they have a few tables inside. I decided to try a dozen empanadas, half chicken and half beef for my family and I to try. I also got their nutella banana and apple pie dulce de leche empanada desserts for myself. The wait time was not long and it was packaged securely. The pizza box that contained the dozen empanadas plus the chimichurri sauce containers was taped shut. The desserts were in a bag and it leaked a bit during the subway line back home. They gave around 5 regular chimichurri and 5 spicy sauces for the dozen. My family and I prefer the beef empanadas than the chicken which were a bit too try.
