Hibiscus yerba mate and a canvas swag bag
    Eva R.

What can I say... it's amazing! First tried them at their shop when they were having their grand opening. I'd never had fresh yerba mate so Erva was instant love. I crave it all the time so much so I made it a point to go for my birthday weekend, even ordered myself the loose leaf bags online before I went. Was able to meet the owners and try their newest flavor Tamarindo! Never did I know I needed a yerba mate flavor like Tamarindo, it was refreshing and nostalgic, filled my heart and soul. Please do yourself a favor and give them a whirl you won't be disappointed. Tiffany the owner gave me a great tip to use a French press for the yerba mate and my goodness it's perfect!

Not a Yerba guy but my wife is a yerba girl. Right off the back, staff is very friendly and helpful in walking you through drinks and what they are about. My wife got the the Tamarind yerba drink and I got the guava lemonade. Both drinks were bomb as I tried hers and didn't taste the yerba strongly. Very smooth and natural and it's super refreshing. We wanted a nice break from Boba and this was it. Nice quiet and chill music in the background and we enjoyed it. The drinks taste fresh and im curious to come back and try other drinks. We will definitely be back when we come back to the area :) support people!

Such a delicious and refreshing tea spot! Everything tastes so fresh and perfectly balanced, especially the guava rooibos drink--it's absolutely delicious. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. A must-try if you're ever in Pasadena, especially on a warm and sunny day. I'll definitely be back!

Erva is undoubtedly one of Pasadena's hidden gems! Like many people I'm sure, my experience with yerba mate for the most part has been bitter cans from the grocery store. But this has opened my eyes to the world of mate! I love their "bar" setup, it feels approachable and friendly and Tiffany and Juan are so warm and knowledgeable! Don't be intimidated, ask questions and get recommendations . I've tried just about everything and I really think you can't go wrong. Each one has great layers of flavor with hints of tea and fresh elements. You can definitely taste the passion they put into it! Next time you want a pep in your step, think small (business) and check out Erva PS Try their alfajores, best cookie I've ever had!

An awesome, healthier alternative to coffee. Love the drinks, vibes, and the people. Can't wait to come back

I tried the Yerba Mate from here at an event and I've loved it since. Definitely need to make it out there to have it again soon (,:

Visited on a Sunday in need of a refreshment on a hot summer day. Katie at Erva helped us make our decision, she was so patient as we picked from all their delicious choices. We decided on the tamarindo and the bartender's choice which I highly recommend. They are sweetened just enough and both drinks had different notes that made it fun to drink. Thanks Katie, we'll be back soon. The parking in this plaza isn't the easiest, but Erva is worth it and there was a parking attendant helping folks find a spot.

Happy Latinx Heritage Month! I found this place while looking for somewhere to have lunch with my friend who doesn't eat meat. This place came up as vegan because they sell vegan empanadas. Unfortunately my friend doesn't drink caffeine and I totally forgot about that...and unfortunately they have a pretty small selection of empanadas *and* they're not very big. So I ordered the Bartender's Special, she ordered a lemonade, and we both ordered one vegetarian and one vegan empanada. The Bartender's Special is awesome! It has lavender and hibiscus. Not too sweet or too bitter. I tried the masala and the spinach empanadas. Wouldn't return for those but I'd like to come back to try the other drinks. The inside is a bit small but it's so vibrant and welcoming. Only a few tables inside and outside. The person working that day was also very friendly.

Erva serves Yerba mate drinks. These drinks are made with the Yerba tea leaves and are an alternative source of herbal caffeine. Some benefits are increased energy, less fatigue, mental clarity, and weight loss. We tried the guava infused latte and it was very good! I would definitely come back to try more flavors. I like that it is a healthier alternative to my coffee and tea lattes! The shop located in a busy plaza and parking was tough. It's also kinda hidden unless you know where it is already. Definitely visit them and give them a try!

Love this place! A cafe that provides a different way to get caffeinated with Yerba mate infused drinks. The empanadas help satisfy your cravings for a quick and fast bite to eat. They also have the Peruvian cookies that are a rare find. The cafe is small and cozy. There is a high bar that gives you a view of the kitchen and to watch your drink get made. The employee at the time was so friendly and attentive.

I need more Yerba Mate in my life! I'm still stuck on Erva Brew's Ginger-Lime Iced House Fave -- but today I also got the Strawberry Lime and that was delicious, too. I love that there's actually strawberry in it. Snacks: I'm obsessed with the fact that they have Chifle + Cancha - plantain chips and Andean roasted corn. Two of my favorite salty treats combined. The Alfajores though!!! Erva offers a four pack of vegan or non vegan Alfajores, which I've never had before. We tried the vegan ones and they're one of the best sweets I've ever had. It's a Peruvian shortbread cookie with dulce de leche filling. I love coming to Erva!

This is our second stop at Erva this week and their drinks still taste delicious! I got the iced cocoa mate this time around and it tastes soooo yummy. It feels indulgent without making me feel super guilty about it lol. The empanadas we got were also super flavorful. The Masala empanada is my favorite between that and the pomodoro one we got. They're also really friendly there so stop by, try something, and support them!! If you want a lighter drink then go for their Bartender's blend (I think that's what it's called) under the shaken not stirred. It's very refreshing! Not too tart and has a subtle lavender taste that isn't too overwhelming. If you want a kick then I suggest my mom's favorite, the ginger-lime mate!

The energy and customer service is top tier. My day wasn't going as planned and I just wanted something to spark my soul. I decided to come to Erva Brew. I am so glad I did! I met Tiffany and we had such good conversation. She explained the history of Yerba Mate, how the business started, and her love for the tea. I watched her prepare my drink with such care. Looking forward to coming again. This is definitely my new go to!

On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

Traditional espresso drinks, however, aren't their strong suit. Pros: Plenty of seating, lots of outlets, reliable Wi-Fi, and a comfortable space to work or study. They also have a solid rewards program if you visit regularly, plus various avocado toast options and Asian-inspired ice cream if you're looking for more than coffee. My favorite drink is the brown sugar latte (I'd recommend 25% or 50% sweetness), followed by the Thai tea latte. Cons: Traditional espresso drinks feel more modernized than authentic. On my most recent visit (Friday around 10:20 a.m.), I ordered a cappuccino that took 15 minutes to receive and was surprised it only came in 12 oz or 16 oz. I was expecting a smaller cup like other places. The 12 oz tasted more like a latte with extra steamed milk than a classic cappuccino. The ube and hojicha lattes were decent, but I've had better elsewhere. Parking in front is limited to 15 minutes, but there's additional one-hour parking in the rear.

If the patio has different hours, that should be clearly communicated instead of asking paying customers to leave early. Overall, this was a frustrating experience.
