We LOVED this place. It's easily accessible by Metro, close to the Notre Dame, reasonably priced with beautiful displays and is just overall perfect for brunch. I shared the salmon and broccoli quiche with a friend. It was well seasoned, fresh and one of the best quiches I've ever had. My friend ordered the cheese and spinach quiche and my other friend had the tuna salad baguette. The baguette was amazing, fresh, crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, you could tell it was freshly made. There were a few seats outside however it was pretty crowded and the line for the bakery was pretty long as well. However, it moved pretty fast and we had our food within 15 min. We couldn't resist the amazing desserts on display and we ordered the raspberry tart, the fig and pear tart and the strawberry tart. The tarts were flaky, not too sweet but flavorful and absolutely amazing again. I love fruit tarts, so these were perfect, and they had green pistachio colored insides. It was hard to resist ordering another one! The tarts were 3 pounds to 4 Euros and the quiches were 3.20 Euros. The sandwich was around 4 Euros. Stayed at a hotel just a few blocks from here and we ended up coming here almost daily for either coffee, a sandwich or some delicious pastry! They had this these chocolate muffin things that were to die for. The sandwiches were not bad too. We brought two to Versailles with us and they were perfect for a lunch on the go while we were admiring the gardens outside. Service is friendly and although they speak English, you can tell it's not their preferred language so try to make an attempt at French if you come here lol. I found the Eric Kayser in Neuilly-sur-Seine the first day I was in France-- visiting my mother who was in the American Hospital. The rustic sandwich, with chicken and sun dried tomatoes on a baguette that was the exact right combo of crunchy-chewy crust and soft middle, may have saved my sanity. With pastry and food in open glass cases, pointing is easy and the staff was considerate of my fumbled French inquiries (I went several times during my trip, the salami-Cornichon combo was also great) about the food. Based on extensive competitive analysis, my girlfriend and I judged this to be the best croissants we've had in Paris. Super flaky on the outside, nice and fluffy on the inside. If you're there for new years, be sure and get the Galette de Rois! It's like someone said, "Wow, I sure do love pie crust. Why not have a pastry that's just pie crust, with some almond paste inside?" Why not indeed! Pro tip: most bakeries like this in Paris don't have seating, so unless you want to just stand on the street munching away I'd suggest heading over to a nearby Starbucks. Sure, it's not great to be going to Starbucks in Paris, but it's a place where you can eat indoors with a coffee and not worry about getting hassled for bringing in outside food. Also, there are multiple Eric Kaysers in the city, so check and see if there's one closer to where you are staying (though this is the best one we tried). read more

I've been hearing about this kayser dude for a long time now without really having had the chance to look for him. Thankfully when my friend came to visit me in Paris, I took the time to do all the touristy things i have yet to do and finally got a taste of the famous pastries here. We even got a quiche, was which delicious, and then a nutella eclaire. I'm not a fan of sweets but this place makes you wanna eat all of it. Eric Kayser's got one of my favorite sandwich breads--the bâtard. I get them to slice a loaf and it lasts for a week. If you're on the run and need a sandwich, this is a good place to stop. I usually go for the tuna sandwich and a small hazelnut or lemon dessert--you really can't go wrong. Oh man, this place is phenomenal. I was staying down the street at the Young and Happy hostel so I was within walking distance and man did this place make my Parisian adventure so much more enjoyable. I don't speak much french so had little actual interaction with the staff other than placing my order but everyone was friendly and appreciative of my attempts to speak French. The selection of desserts/sweets is amazing - you can pretty much find whatever you want for whatever type of sweets craving you have. My favorite boulangerie in Paris - I adore the pain de epi in particular - extra bits of crunchy crust goodness. Wonderful chocolate eclair with more a pastry cream filling (as opposed to custardy fillings at other bakeries). A couple weeks ago I had a ridiculously tasty pastry that I can't remember what it was called - it was a brioche with pink candy bits and so good! A sit down area just a few steps away from a more visible bakery offers coffee, daily sandwiches and some pastries. Stopped for a tea break and got a cappuccino which wasn't any good and a pecan brownie. The brownie was good! Made with pecans instead of the more common walnut, each bit was just the right balance of slightly fudgey cake and pecan nuts and overall, not as sweet as the American version. Yumminess for €2.50! Okay so location, location, location would be where some of these stars fit in. My friend and I came across this little place on a free walking tour when we stopped for lunch. Located directly across from the famed Louvre museum and with some cute shops surrounding it, this is a perfect, decently priced area for a lunch. I had the raspberry macaronade the first day, when in Paris why not have dessert for a meal? This was a neat pastry, I had never seen anything like this before and was pleasantly surprised at how taken I was with this pink sweet. I am not a huge fan of desserts but this was really good, the top and bottom was sweet, soft and a little crisp. The middle was full of pistachio-like cream and surrounded by raspberries, all of the ingredients worked really well together.This cost me about five euros and fifty cents. The next day we went back for actual food and I had the smoked salmon salad, with a plain yogurt, honey and granola dessert. Eric Kayser has a deal for their sandwiches and salads that includes drink, food and dessert, this will cost you around ten euros. This is a bit pricey for lunch but the food is amazing; it is fresh and flavorful. My salmon salad was really good, it had lettuce, quinoa and smoked salmon strips along with some veggies. It was enough to fill me up for lunch but perhaps not a dinner option. The staff were friendly and willing to warm up any cold food options with no extra charge. However, taking food to go is priced differently then enjoying your meal on Eric Kayser's patio, beware you have been warned. read more

Probably the closest thing to a Starbucks that you'll find in Paris. It's definitely not as corporate as Starbucks but the selection is the most similar thing I could find to an American coffee shop. The pastries are nice, my favorite by far being the almond croissant, and the coffee is good. Everything here is very affordable and the atmosphere is pretty, sunlit and welcoming. My favorite thing about all the Eric Kayser locations is that the staff are very friendly and welcoming and they all spoke English to me as soon as they could tell I was American and struggling with speaking French (hard to find people in the city who will speak English to you, especially if you're American). Overall, one of my favorite places in Paris and very, very affordable. read more

Terrific bakery. Arrived very early. Staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Bakery items were melt in your mouth good. Not much of a coffee drinker but I really enjoyed theirs.
