we couldn't find the coffee shop/bakery we wanted to go to so we settled for Paul. we ordered the salade poulet graine salad, a seeded baguette, crossiant, escargot aux raisin, and pain au chocolat. first of all, they gave us the wrong salad, but i didn't realize until after we paid because she kept all our items behind the cash register, out of sight, until we paid. when i clarified which salad i wanted, she almost refused to give it to me because the one i wanted was €0,40 more expensive. finally, after she ran around the bakery in distress for five minutes and consulted with her colleague, she decided to just exchange the salads without charge. that was nice of her - i'll give them that. for €7,40, there was barely any salad and the sesame vinaigrette just tasted like olive oil. as for the pastries, the baguette was alright but didn't taste very fresh. the crossiant tasted like it was from Costco - limp and not flakey at all. the pain au chocolat was more of the same and had a sad amount of chocolate. the escargot aux raisin was overly sweet and also lacked flakiness. overall, for a bakery in Paris, we expected a lot better. read more
