    Chocolate babka

Walked in for a quick breakfast and got the quiche and chocolate babka. The service was fast and they were pretty chill with the language barrier. Good ambience, would stop by again.

Crowded place full of locals...now I know why.

In a town full of bakeries, this one stands out. If you want a quick and delicious breakfast...or, you just want to experience Paris at its full caloric value, be sure to stop by. Don't expect to chat with employees at the counter, however...while not quite up to Seinfeld's soup experience, this is the kind of place that appreciates if you know what you want by the time you make it to the front of the line. With every bread and pastry you can imagine, along with coffee and real freshly squeezed orange juice, you'll come out of Chez Meunier wearing a beret of contentment.

    Tartine- chicken was dry

Like most french patisseries, this cafe was very warm and inviting. However, service was kind of slow and lack luster. I ordered a chicken tartine. The chicken breast was pretty dry and overall it lacked in flavor. The bread was the best part. It also came with a salad (well just a spring mix) which I doused in olive oil because they didn't give me any dressing. My sister had a pistachio financier which was pretty good. I would probably go for a pastry next time.

Great new bakery/cafe just a couple doors down from me. There were lines out the door even when it first opened. Part of that is due to the fact that French are always up to try a new bakery, even if we have a quite dependable one within 50 meters. Will stop by for lunch later this week and see how it is.

Another great boulangerie. This place is slightly larger than the one down the street with a…read moreslightly wider selection. It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.
