My husband and I have had multiple dining in and to go dinners at Epulo. Tonight on our date night we decided to pick up dinner to take back to our hotel and what a mess. The food was so poor! Skagit Valley Chicken Breast was what I ordered with creamy herb Parmesan polenta and kale pesto. The chicken was a mess, tasted like it was a day or two old and the polenta was anything but creamy, gelatinous mess. We always order the burrata, usually amazing, but the crostini were stale, day old. My husband got the burger and the bun was hard and the burger was dry. I appreciate the owners response, but the box of food was opened in the car within five minutes of pickup and I am aware of what polenta is and what the consistency should be. We have dined at many fine dining restaurants, August's in New Orleans has been the best thus far. read more

A very STRONG 4 stars Dear Epulo, It was our first time here, we were walking by and came in for drinks but ended up with a pizza, and salad. I wanted to enjoy the ambiance. Check. I wanted to enjoy the food. Check! I wanted to see a drink menu, check- however the bartender was a little bit too opinionated for my taste, and there were fruit flies in the restaurant near the bar. That made some stars drop off. I really enjoyed the menu though, I really liked the staff, and I thought over all we have found a new spot. I wish you guys have a few more mock-tail options as well. A nice place in Edmonds with decent food and prices. I had: 1) beet salad - 4/5. Nice portion and good amount of sweet & tangy. 2) braised beef - 3/4. Big portion and they substituted the mashed potatoes with veggies for $3 more. Though the beef was tender, it was dry. I tried to soak it in the sauce, but it was still kinda dry. The Epulo Bistro is an excellent restaurant right in the heart of Edmonds. Parking can be a problem in this area, but the restaurant has some spots on the side of the building. The interior is nice and upscale. They have a limited wine list--I ordered the Epulo Cabernet which was a really nice wine. I started with the burrata. The cheese was perfect and came with some really good bread and perfect cherry tomatoes. It was delicious and a great way to start. For the main meal, I ordered the margherita pizza with sausage along with the Brussels sprouts. Everyone should order the Brussels sprouts. They come with a generous amount of bacon and are super tasty. The pizza was great as well. The crust is nice and thin, the sauce was great, and I really liked the sausages. I made a dinner reservation and let them know it was our anniversary and that we don't normally get to spend them together so this one was supposed to be pretty special. I told them we'd like a table in a quietish area. There apparently aren't any. We ordered and our salads came out and within 5 minutes our mains came out. Salads got boxed up to go. The food was just ok. I'm pretty bummed that I picked Epulo for our anniversary dinner. There was absolutely nothing special about it. Lesson learned. The Braised Beef Short Ribs were delicious as always! The cauliflower was very good. The salads themselves (we shared a couple) were good but their dressing choices were off (sour) and made them almost unpalatable. They make the best espresso martini you can find. Sitting on the patio on this beautiful sunny PNWT day. Started off with the focaccia appetizer, a must have. It is served warm with oil and balsamic vinegar to dip. The bread is soft and warm, crispy on the outside....so good. And had the arugula with heirloom tomatoes..a very good salad to start before your meal. For dinner we chose to share the shrimp and sausage, served on polenta..and the burst of tomatoes. Holy crap...is that good!!! We craved more tomatoes, just to have that burst of tomatoe in each bite. Another fav from Epulo. After meeting some friends at Scratch Distillery, next door to Epulo, we passed on dessert. Now time to walk along the shore in Edmonds to walk off our Scratch buzz. If you have some time to try two great local businesses, try Scatch Distillery and Epulo for a nice dinner out. Totally blown away by the great food! Went in for happy hour tonight and got a table at the bar The vibe is so cute yet classy. It'd be great for a date night! The truffle frites are to die for! Literally could not stop eating them! They were perfectly crisp, so savory and aromatic. The homemade donuts (not pictured) came with the most mindblowing carmel sauce that was so buttery. I legit would go back just for that carmel sauce. The whole meal was great. We paid about $75 for 3 people (with drinks) and left so happy and full. wow. what a fabulous place on a gorgeous sunday afternoon. this is my first visit to the new location and it was brunch.  what a perfect space for them!  some walls were moved, some were closed, and it just feels better inside than the previous restaurant that occupied the space. the indoor seating opens competely to the deck via sliding glass doors. the deck is spacious with plenty of coverings to  keep us in the shade.  the food was very good. both plates delivered hot off the grill. prices were competitive:  mushroom and sausage omelet was $14 and eggs benedict prosicutto:  $17, and 2 eggs anyway with potatoes and meat is $13. we received an amuse-bouche (for brunch!) of a milk bread(?) tart with jam. mushroom and sausage omelet: a folden western style omelet.  puffy but dry.  i like mine wetter and more tender and more towards the french style.  flavor was very good. eggs bendict with prosciutto :  a win.  tons! of prosciutto. the hollandaise was warm silky with just right amount of lemon.   breakfast potatoes: crispy yet soft inside.  they seem to have been pre-cooked then, deep-fried.  i had no problems with these potatoes. i've alway been a fan of Epulo but have only been there for dinner.  their service and quality during all the seattle restaurant weeks and other visits were very impressive, but it was so small, and their bar was so cramped.   as busy as the large spacious deck is, the feel was very relaxed. the wait staff was upbeat and attentive.  i will promise to remember to mask up when my server approaches my table to check on us. i can't quit saying how perfect the new location is.  for the space of an hour, hour and a half, i felt the weight of the current troubling times leave my mind. read more

Epulo has been one of our favorite restaurants since we moved to Edmonds. In their previous location, we often went there before attending events at Edmonds Center for the Arts. The new location is much airier and larger than the old, and includes outdoor seating. The food is still amazingly good! I can't come here without ordering the Burrata Cheese small plate and tonight's did not disappoint. Creamy, slightly tangy cheese, tomatoes cooked until sweet and ready to burst with toasty crostini and a sprinkle of julienned basil. For dinner my husband had the Pork Tenderloin and I had the chicken breast. The corn frita side made the whole dish worth it! We both enjoyed our meals and topped it off with Peanut Butter & Theo chocolate Ice Cream with coffee for him and espresso for me. Yum! read more

We pick Upulo for my 67th birthday dinner because we wanted something special. And it is! We loved our booth, Zena was a fabulous server, and our food was to die for. The only reason for a four star was the noise level. To make matters worse, two very loud, drunk men were seated at the four top closest to our booth. They would have ruined our meal if we weren't already having dessert. I'd love to return, but the noise level would make me think twice about it. read more

We had a lovely brunch outside there. Just be aware that right now outside is under a plastic roof, so if it's hot out (like it was the day we were there) it will be hot under that roof! We shared a lancinatk kale salad that was one of the best I've had, because they managed to get the kale tender! Really good flavors too. We both had eggs benedict - I had prosciutto, and my husband had smoked salmon. Both were delicious, though I would have enjoyed a tiny bit more hollandaise. During our pre-meal cocktails on the patio at Epulo, our reveries were interrupted by a well-placed Seagull dropping. It was a direct hit to one of our drinks, splattering Seagull poop all around the table. The staff reacted with alacrity, clearing the mess and providing fresh settings. One odd thing though: we were not offered a complimentary round to replace the drinks that had been ruined. We ordered a bottle of wine and proceeded to have a reasonably good dinner, laughing off the events of the cocktail hour. Imagine our surprise later to find the ruined drinks our our bill! But the biggest surprise was soon revealed: the decision to charge us for the ruined cocktails came directly from the owner of the restaurant! We were told that we accepted the risk when we sat on the patio. Needless to say, we won't be dining at Epulo again, but ask yourself: if the owner is this short-sighted, what other corners have been cut? If the same thing had happened at McDonalds, would we have been charged for another round of beverages? I don't think so. read more

I've been coming to Epulos for over 15 yrs and am so sad to say I will not be coming back nor will I recommend it. When they were at the Main St location there was warmth and honesty from the staff, the food was wonderful and had seasonal changes that were awesome. Ever since they moved the staff is cold and disingenuous, the menu has not changed and the staples are meh at best as the prices have skyrocketed. No shade to Taylor but that is not the music I want to hear at Epulos. I can go to Red Robin for that. A group of five stopped into Epulo for a drink and light bite before heading to my daughter's graduation ceremony. Free street parking can be found. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs were easily and accurately split. Happy Hour is offered in the lounge Monday-Saturday from 4pm-6pm then again from 9pm-close. Happy Hour is offered all night on Sunday's. The lounge is small, intimate and not ideal for large groups. Seating can be found at the bar or at two-person tabletops. The lounge was completely filled during our visit. We were lucky to get a table. Epulo's happy hour menu is a refreshing change from the standard deep-fried food items found on most happy hour menus. My bestie and I each ordered a 9oz pour of the house Cab for $7 (hh), my daughter ordered a can of Pear Cider for $5 and the others in our party ordered pints of draft beer for $5 (hh). For snacks we ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts for $10: woodfire blasted, bacon, chili flakes and lemon. The flavor was good, however, the price vs. the quantity (mainly leaves and not the actual sprout) received wasn't balanced. We ordered the Fried Beecher's Cheese Curds for $8 (hh): served with marinara. The curds were a group favorite. We ordered Truffle Frites for $6 (hh): served with garlic aioli dipping sauce and shaved Parmesan cheese. The fries were matchstick thin, crispy, well seasoned and tasty. Addictive. We ordered Roasted Cauliflower for $6 (hh): bland and tasteless. The groups least favorite dish. Our server was welcoming and competent. Absolutely love love this place. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is trendy and the customer service is superb. They have an amazing happy hour menu which offers smaller portions of items from their dinner menu. If you're a popcorn fan, you'll need to try the truffle popcorn. It tastes like they use real butter and it just melts in your mouth. It is so yummy. I have not tried something on their menu that I did not find to be delicious. On sunny days, we also enjoy their outdoor seating, where they offer their full menu as well as their happy hour menu. This is convenient for us because our 13-month twins can join us while sitting in their double stroller, as well as our little four-legged family members can join us for dinner. read more

We've come twice now, both times without reservations. Though they were exceptionally busy, they were able to accommodate us. The food was better than I expected. My favorite items on the menu here are the ribeye, the burrata appetizer, and the banana pudding. Some of their dishes can be on the saltier side, like their pastas or the mashed potato that comes with the ribeye. Still, it has a great vibe for a romantic dinner and decent food for the price. We come here probably once a month and we always order the burrata appetizer with the margarita pizza (add sausage) and the braised short rib. We veered off our normal path with the entrees and tried the risotto which we found to be somewhat disappointing. It was very overpriced for not much food and I think the risotto and meatballs lacked flavor/depth. We will definitely come back but stick to our favorites (braised short rib and the margarita pizza with sausage). We did try the carrot cake and enjoyed it but really miss the bread pudding! read more

This place is a MUST try! Located near the ferry terminal it is a great spot if you are just passing through town or want to take a walk by the water and enjoy a nice dinner beforehand. Everything on this menu is incredible and will not disappoint. The street corn is so delicious and packed with flavor, and the clams with rustic bread are delicious!! (Note that the clams are listed as an entree but are good for sharing). The grapefruit martini is out of this world and make with fresh pressed grapefruit juice.... Wow!! Had dinner at Epulo this evening. Raining, so we sat in the dining room. Great atmosphere for dinner conversation. First time here. They have a nice happy hour menu til 6pm. The portion size suited me well. Husband and Father-in-Law order off their nice selection of specials . The regular menu seemed really good too. I would have had no problem picking a half dozen items. I had the pepperadelle with short rib. Healthy portion for a happy hour menu. Also enjoyed the heirloom tomato salad. Husband had the Monday Prime Rib special and we'll enjoy the rest of it tomorrow. My FIL polished off his Rockfish. Our server was great. Attentive and there/not there. You know what I mean. This was our first time dining at Epulo. The location is really lovely....whoever does the gardening is amazing. I almost felt like I was in a tropical location with all of the gorgeous flowers blooming. We had reserved a table on the spacious patio and really loved the vibe. We started with burrata crostini (it could not have been better) and the gem salad. The entree menu has a very nice variety. We had a hard time deciding. We consulted with the General Manager, Jim Rubstello, who was greeting diners. I decided on the flank steak special (with asparagus and polenta) and my husband had the lamb chops.
