    Perfectly prepared martini
    Kelli P.

Party of 2 here on a Saturday evening; seated right away even though the place was definitely busy. Decorated beautifully inside for Christmas. We shared the Bresaola Alla Valtinellese appetizer while enjoying perfectly prepared martinis. Our server was prompt and friendly; great pace throughout our night, no rushing. Hubs had the Lasagna Bolognese and I had the Veal Milanese. We agreed the red sauce is indeed delicious. Don't forget the yummy warm bread (hubs asked for extra) and the crispy fresh mixed greens beet salad. We would definitely return!

    Bread? $8

8 ravioli for $34. I have been going to Machiavelli for decades (in Seattle). This is such a sad down grade. I'm bummed. And we paid for bread... $7..... why? I guess I'll stick with Bucatinni. Which is consistently fabulous.

They are still making the best Italian food in all of Puget Sound. We were regulars at the original Seattle location and this one in Edmonds is 100% spot on for flavor and experience. The spaghetti and meatballs is heavenly. Perfect location for date night.

Chicken parmesan sandwich & chicken milanese sandwich!

Visited this restaurant yesterday with my partner for lunch - oh my goodness, SOOOOO GOOD. First of all, the service was great, our waiter was super friendly and attentive. The ambience was lovely, it was a sunny day out and we got to sit next to the window and people watch while we ate. Very very cute place, clean and comfortable. Our food was delicious - we were craving sammies, so I got the special, which was a chicken parmesan sandwich! I loved everything about it - the chicken was cooked perfectly, yummy gooey cheese, and a nice homemade marinara sauce on it + more sauce on the side. Very good portion size, I got to take a little home which tasted just as good the next day. My partner got the chicken milanese sandwich - it was refreshing because of the arugula and cherry tomatoes on it, and the chicken was perfectly breaded! My partner especially liked the bread, because he hates when sandwiches have overly hard / crunchy bread that's hard to bite into - this place doesn't have that. :) We shared a caesar salad, the dressing was super good, and they put freshly ground pepper on top which is a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back for dinner sometime to try their pasta! One of our new favorite Edmonds spots. :)

Caesar with anchovies and orange Italian soda

5 stars for service and the overall ambiance 5 stars for the Italian sodas and salads 3 stars for the food itself Hubs and I popped by the Saturday after Valentine's Day for our evening out. He has been researching all of the local Italian eateries knowing that I am a gnoochi lover and have been craving it since one of our first Valentine's dinners. Hands down the service is very friendly and we were seated right away - though we arrived early to ensure we weren't waiting too long on purpose. We sort of knew what we wanted ahead of time so that made our ordering a lot faster than usual. The salads came out and were very fresh - hubs added anchovies to his (ick! haha!) and enjoyed his Ceasar very much. Not wanting to drink, we went with Italian sodas, both were very good and exactly what we needed, even if we were going to head over to Molly Moon's after! The mains came flying out after. Hubs very much enjoyed his carbonara while my gnocchi was sadly bland and VERY mushy. the gnocchi held their shape until I tried to eat them, at which point they melted into a goopy, gummy mess. As someone who makes gnocchi from scratch often, it definitely should not goop into a weird wet clay. The sauce was also not right, it seemed too watery, and even with the added cracked pepper and Kraft parmesan (not freshly shredded), there was no flavor. I don't know if it's because of growing up in Chicago or from years of having homemade pasta but yeah - maybe we will be back to try the pizza? At least he enjoyed his pasta and everything else was great.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely and quick dinner here. We got here for an early dinner around 5:30 and were quickly seated in the bar section. Glad we got there early because the place was super busy for a weeknight! Service was attentive and friendly. And the food was fantastic, we cleaned our plates! The ambiance was lively and loud but we could still have a private conversation.

There had to have been a pound of pasta, which was ok because it was delicious the next day too. We were a party of six - 4 adult and 2 five year old boys. We picked the place under the assumption that the kids can get pasta and it would be a peaceful lunch for us adults. We realized after being seated that they do a different brunch menu on the weekends (which has no pasta at all) and were caught a little off guard due to our own oversight - no fault of the restaurant at all. We got the boys sandwiches (Sausage & Egg Breakfast Sandwich) off the kids brunch menu but lunch was far more chaotic than we had imagined. My only point in sharing this is, if you have picky toddlers who like their staples, especially hooked on pasta - just visit outside the brunch hours. Us adults got the below and everything was delicious. Very large portion sizes and it would have been wise to share in hindsight but nonetheless good food. 1. Avocado Toast 2. Tomato Bruschetta 3. Chicken Fried Chicken & Polenta There are only 2 dedicated spots for parking for this restaurant which can be grab to grab but there is plenty of street parking which can also be challenging during peak weekend hours. So bake in a little time to arrive early if you have made a reservations. Staff is wonderful and service is quick.

We noticed the same thing at several other restaurants nearby as well, since many people had already celebrated and spent money over the weekend. We didn't have a lot of time to just eat and relax as we were in a rush to get somewhere else right after, but I had scoped the menu out beforehand and knew what I wanted. We ordered the Pumpkin Quinoa Salad, the Campanelle Ala Pistachio, and I got a Cherry Bomb mocktail for myself. I will say that the Campanelle Ala Pistachio was what I wanted, as a fan of both pesto and nuts like pistachio. We both happily ate that up. I expected the roasted pumpkin to be warm in the salad, since that's how I would have done it myself, but it was chilled and cold. I don't consider that bad, but it wasn't my preference especially on a cold night. However the major disruption to our dinner was in the middle of conversation that while I was sipping my mocktail through the straw, my tongue hit something weird and stringy. My partner watched as I stared, confused and shocked, while pulling a very long blonde hair out of the straw. The end of the hair was embedded in a small piece of macerated cherry. I imagine what might have happened was the bartender lost a hair in the cherry mix while preparing my drink. While I guess this shows the drink was made fresh, it certainly didn't feel sanitary having pulled another human's hair out of my straw (and there's no way they could claim it's mine since I have dark hair). I lost my appetite for the drink immediately and ended up ordering a different kind. While our server whisked the old drink away fairly quickly, it didn't feel much like an apology. The Mocking Pear was much better though so I didn't feel the need to complain any further. I'm open to trying this place out again when the menu rotates, but I also hope their bar is a little more careful next time, that was definitely not the best first impression!
