First of all, I HIGHLY recommend that you do your homework and FIRST read everything that you can find about solar power systems in books and on laymen-friendly web sites: there's a lot to learn, and if you make the mistake of relying on what you can find on You-Boob, you're doing to have a lot of bad information and ideas. Spoiler alert: there's a lot of BRAVO SIERRA out there by people who have built DIY solar kits,for sheds, cabins, and/or travel trailers. We had originally contracted with Tesla to build our solar power system, and after seven months of phone calls where the Tesla sales people did absolutely nothing in the way of listening to us--then getting an email every two weeks about how Tesla engineers were working on our system design)--I happened to have lunch with an ex-Tesla employee who gave me enough information to fill a small encyclopedia set about Tesla. Tesla wanted to put our Powerwall 3 units in the hottest exposure to the sun: I was warned that at 122° F, the Powerwall shuts down, not allowing the discharge or charging of the unit. I put a number of thermocouple devices in place to measure the temp at the site of our house's main power supply and found that the sun heated the main breaker panel to more than 130° in 41 out of 60 days last summer--precisely where the Tesla wanted to put our system's Powerwall 3 units. I did some more homework and found that the 122° upper threshold is a hard limit. I called APS and talked with a few of the Customer Technical Support people and found that Tesla personnel deliberately lied to us, thinking that I wouldn't check with the experts. Further, Tesla doesn't have a single brick-and-mortar store in Arizona: everything, including service, repairs, and replacement parts are driven east from California: you have a problem with your system, you have to wait your turn for service from CA. Pass. I did a few months' research and came upon Envision Solar. Their technical scores and customer satisfaction ranked them very highly. Our design was everything that Tesla's wasn't, except that Tesla's Powerwall units are amongst the world's most advanced solar batteries. We had to wait a long time for Tesla's manufacture of Powerwall units caught up with demand. When the units came in, Envision's people came and had our system built in two days: a subcontractor came and wired the system. We had one inspection of our town's permit (i.e., $125 "permit" fee) people; one inspection from APS (which is very busy), and passed. We had a short wait for APS to approve our paperwork, give us the approval to operate, and a APS electrician came out and installed our power meter. We were in business. We're selling ~106 kWh daily to APS. I've asked a lot of questions that Envision's president personally answered, and are very happy that we chose this company. Their people took excellent care of our property during construction, cleaned up their work areas every day they were here, and were great to work with. We're very happy with our choice. I decided to install solar power in the old house we purchased, not because the system would pay for itself over time, but because Arizona is growing very fast and we've had a number of blackouts for a variety of reasons: there's nothing like having an outage and having refrigerated and frozen food spoil over the space of several days. Envision has done excellent work, and I think we were wise to have chosen the company. read more

This review is to warn future customers about this company: Contracted in October. Paid a $47,750 deposit for a solar project that was supposed to be completed before year-end. What followed: Multiple scheduled start dates -- every one a NO-SHOW Zero work performed Zero materials delivered Zero follow-through FULL deposit taken and has not been returned. ...7 months... We were ultimately told: "I do not have the funds to start your project." Then--after all of that--we were given documentation claiming the job was "completed." Nothing was ever done. This is fraud at the highest level! Complaint filed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Police report for fraudulent activity has been accepted and documented. If you're considering this company--please think twice. Protect your money. Protect your project. Do your homework. read more

Th company does not honor the incentives they promise customers. they get the sale and do not pay out what the promise. the also scam to get good review, do not respond to them. they told me they would send me a gift card and guess what? the gift card never came. do not go with envision solar. my system was installed in August of 2025 of last year and my incentive was supposed to be the latest of 90 days. The initial sales experience with Envision Solar was actually pretty positive -- the team seemed professional and knowledgeable, and the installation process moved along fairly smoothly. Unfortunately, things took a turn after installation. Some issues arose regarding the backend of the process, including miscommunication and unmet expectations that were promised during the sales phase. I shared an honest 2-star review reflecting my personal experience. After posting that review, I was unexpectedly contacted by the owner in a way that I felt was unprofessional and inappropriate. The tone of the messages was concerning and not something I would expect from any reputable business. My intention in writing this is simply to share my full experience so that others can make an informed decision. I hope this company takes feedback more constructively moving forward. read more

I was sold the solar panels back in June 2025 and was told the incentives would be 1 year paid for. I had the system turn on in Aug 2025 and 6 months later I still haven't received the payment to cover the incentiv period. I was also sold on the fact that I would be building up credits so I would need to add a battery to my system to help with my usage. When talking to a salesman from another company I found that I was overcharged and they didn't put enough panels on my house and should have quoted a battery to be added to the system. Basis of this story is I was lied too in multiple ways by the "Regional manager" and promised items that I never received in order for them to coerce me into agreeing to go with them for solar. will never be using this company again and recommend everyone stays far away from Envision Solar!!! read more

This is the absolutely worst solar company. They send their minions into new developments to rip people off. They are no better than used care salesmen. We were told we would get a check. This was back in September. They will lie, cheat, and steal to get your business. Not happy at all. If they tell you they are with Envision Solar, close and lock the door. Make sure your children and pets are secure. They might take your grandmother while they're at it. read more

While the first guy, Christopher Overton, was nice, we were given the runaround regarding our incentive after everything was installed. He said we would get a large incentive check to assist with backyard projects if we signed up with them "today" (February 2025) and then from the day of solar activation (May 2025) it would be 90-120 days to get our incentive check, but we have yet to receive it (August would be 90 days and September would be 120), and it has now been 4 months since the 120-day mark and almost a whole year after we signed this contract. We have been in communication with Terri Edmond, their controller. We are just given the run around of "We don't know where it is, and we are still waiting. Once we have a clearer date, we will reach out." No other communication other than when I reach out to them, monthly, to get an update. We would not have gone with Envision Solar without the incentive, and now we have it, and we have not been paid the incentive, and they are not upholding their promise to us. **EDIT TO ADD** It is almost April, and still no communication. It has been well over 200 days now with zero communication from Terri regarding payment. I have reached out to the BBB and to the AG, and they still have not reached out to me for any payment update. I went ahead and gave two stars. One is because the security side of this company is fantastic. I have zero complaints there. The other is because Christopher is a genuinely great guy. He went above and beyond and did everything he could to try and help me while I was ignored and my project was drawn out WAYYY longer than it should have. There is a lot to say. But I will try to summarize the best I can. We had a new house built. Envision security came around and we ended up signing up with them. The next day while they were installing Christopher came around and talked to us about solar. He's an amazing salesman and very likeable guy. He worked hard for our business and at the end of our time we ended up signing up for solar too. At first, things moved along. They got permits and HOA approval. Then before long the crew was out to install the panels. All the guys were nice and respectful. We left kept them stocked with Gatorade and every single one of them was gracious and thankful. We felt great about our decision to go with the company. Until inspections with APS started. They failed not once, not twice, but three times. The meter box was installed directly above the gas line. But rather than come move it, they just kept resubmitting for inspection and failing until the time limit APS gave ran out and we had to resubmit. Finally after the third failure they came and moved the meter box. Only to fail AGAIN. Now, it was because it was wired backward. It took eight months, but finally we passed. Now, we just needed the pigeon guards installed and access to the app. Unfortunately, nobody in the office felt it was necessary to speak to us or give updates without me begging for them. So this was no different. The only one who truly tried was Christopher who really shouldn't have had to be the one helping me as it was technically outside of his job. But thanks to Christopher we did finally get the pigeon guards. And I eventually got access to the app. We were relieved to finally be done with the eight month process and not have to literally beg for responses from the office about anything. Except we weren't. Part of the incentive when we signed up was our bill paid for a period of time once it was installed. We now have received a bill from Enlighten. So I reached out to the office asking how I handle that. Days have gone by and of course, zero response. I don't want my credit to take a hit. So I will just go ahead and pay the bill. But it really sucks that they likely won't be keeping up with that promise either. Hopefully, for everyone else, I am the "lucky" one that the office people or someone has decided doesn't need communication and should be faced with headache after headache. And anyone else that goes with this company will have a much better experience than we did. But I will never recommend them. And have already warned any of my neighbors that have asked me about solar panels to go with anyone but Envision to save themselves from the headaches I've endured. read more

We signed up for solar in August of 2021 and we were told that the process would take around 2-3 months to complete. We were hoping for October, but understood that it may be November. The plans were drawn up and we waited for APS, our HOA, and the city to approve it. We got approval from the HOA and APS withing the first month and they even sent it back and requested revisions be made to the plan that Envision drew up. (No big deal. These things happen) Envision concluded that we needed a panel upgrade before they could install the panels. I was very patient throughout the entire process because I assume that this industry was experiencing supply chain issues and shortages due to COVID just like a lot of other industries. We finally received a notification from the company on November 18th 2021 that our electrical panel upgrade would happen on 01/20/2022 at 7:00am and the solar panels would be put on the roof on 01/24 - 01/25. This was the first thing that made me start to worry because we were concerned that since this was going to take place in 2022 instead of 2021, it would prevent us from filing it with our taxes until the following year. (Still not a deal breaker) For the electrical panel upgrade, they notified us that the power would need to be shut off for 6-8 hours that day. My wife and I work from home, so we had to take the day off and request the following weekdays off for the solar panel installation as well. We got the days approved and made plans to go through food in our refrigerator and not stock up due to the power set to be off for the day. When the day came I awoke at 6am to get ready for the power to be turned off around 7am. Everything seemed to be going to plan until 7am came and went and we were stuck waiting around for a few hours. I gave them a grace period since I assumed it would work that way. At 10am and no sign of the company I called in to check what was going on. The rep I spoke with informed me that they cancelled my electrical panel upgrade THAT morning around 7am. So here we are already taking a day off and then pretty much cancelled on without even knowing it. I had to call in to them to get this information. This immediately upset me and I found it inexcusable to not be told what was happening when it happened, and also to fact that they were able to cancel on the day of. So I felt uneasy even rescheduling because no how can I even trust they won't cancel again? So now we are already unsatisfied. So far we have already waited 5 months and we still have no solar panels or an electrical panel upgrade and no set date as to when this will get done. Not only that, but this panel upgrade was scheduled in November. So we planned and waited for this for 2 whole months and it was cancelled on the day of. On February 3rd they notified me that they could do the panel upgrade on 02/09/2022. We declined that date due to a death in my wife's family and funeral proceedings being out of town. The company then told us that 05/02/2022 @ 7am was the next available time for them. We accepted this. There was no way they would mess this up again right? Its February and we have almost 3 months to prepare for this and we already accepted that we came this far now we just want it done at this point. As we were approaching the date for our panel upgrade I decided to give the company a call to see what's going on to make sure they haven't decided to change something and not tell me again. So on 04/29/2022 I called to just make sure everything was going to plan and they told me that now I was cancelled because the financing I was approved for had expired since this process took so long. They wanted me to reapply for the financing and then reschedule another panel upgrade date. The problem I had with this is the lack of communication. They had cancelled me more than 2 weeks prior and never informed me in any way (email, text, phonecall). This whole experience was exacerbated due to the fact that my wife lost her grandmother in late February and 2 uncles in January. This family lives in Mexico and in Yuma Arizona and we live in Phoenix AZ. This forced us to use many days off work to commute back and forth frequently during these months. The reason I bring this up is because this means that us taking days off work was extremely valuable this year. So it really pissed me off that nobody from this company communicated these things to me and it caused me to take days off for essentially no reason. It is also just flat out disrespectful not to inform me. It undermines my time and my family. I told this company to just cancel my whole application and that I would not be working with them ever again. I don't know what their deal is, but this was a serious mismanagement on their part. I am a patient and understanding person, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I shouldn't have to check that they are doing their job. I trusted them and they flat out failed. read more
