The sales pitch started out with a PowerPoint presentation on why you should do business with this company. Then it was a pitch on what I needed when I told him I knew what I wanted and already had other quotes. He asked me what the price was for the quotes I had. I said that wouldn't be fair so just give me your best quote and your panel choices and if you're in the ballpark we can go from there. His quote was 40k more than 2 other quotes I had. I told him he wasn't even in the ballpark. He said that if I was willing to let them put a sign in my yard for 30 days he could offer me a price 30k less. After I laughed he asked what it would take for me to make a deal today. There was nothing at that point that would get me to make a deal ever but I was game to see what his boss who he needed to call would offer. He said his boss would come down another 5k. Still over by 10% I said thanks for coming out but no sale. He asked if I had any issues with him personally and I didn't. Nice enough guy and he wasn't really the high pressure pushy type, just a nice guy working for a questionable company. I would not waste my time with these folks and have no idea how they are SRP Certified. Get your solar elsewhere. Once the company I chose finishes there install I'll let everyone know who they are if they live up to their promises. I will say that they are a small family business where the sales person is the boss and his assorted employees are mostly family. And dad used to own a very large electric company that sold out to private equity. So odds are good even though they are young they will be around a long time.

They helped me design a system that would be right for me. They didn't oversell me. The installation went smoothly except for one hiccup. The installer didn't check to see where the bathroom vent pipe was located. After he cut the hole for the charge controller panel he found it. So instead of putting it in a better spot, it wound up with a surface mount box. It's ugly. UPDATE: They called in another installer. He found many serious wiring and installation problems and had to remove and reinstall most of the system! Well, all was good until this week when we took the camper in a road trip. We started noticing a strong odor from the black tank. After much searching and aggravation, we discovered the the original installer they had working on our camper had damaged the seal around the soil stack. Owner states he is no longer using that installer.

Issue reared it's ugly head once again, and again South Face Solar came out within days of the leak appearing, they isolated the issue, had to cut drywall out of roof, they pressured washed area, reinstalled new links around solar panel legs to prevent leaking and are taking care of the entire issue/problem/cost. Drywall cleanup/repairs. It is amazing to have companies to trust, stand behind their projects and looking to do the right thing. The solar industry has become a racket and most companies contracted with are not the installers, in fact they don't know a lot about the process/needs, South Face Solar does. Corey the owner came out to assess himself, Jeff the lead is an amazing worker/person and a pleasure to have met and talked too. Zach the other worked was always courteous, hard working and even OCD about cleanup, very nice young man as well. These guys were very thoughtful and amazing, I am sure the finished project will have any/all issues resolved and if not, I won't hesitate to call them back to help once again. I paid him a total of $2350.00 in deposits and got nothing. Every time I contacted him he would give me excuses. Starting with being on vacation in Seattle, then the rain washing away blue stake markings, it was to hot for him to work, his insurance had lapsed for non-payment for 2 months so City of Phoenix would not issues him a permit until he reestablished a new policy, he was having domestic problems with his spouse ( he said soon to be his ex wife ) and was having to look for another place to live, Finally, he told me was being evicted because he was watching the neighbors dog and the management company saw it and wanted to charge him. Then asked me if they could do that ! I told him I didn't know. But I told him I wanted him to stop doing anymore. And asked him to pay me back part of my deposit of $2350.00 He agreed to send me back $600 but has not. The whole project consisted of stringing a new power line ( provided by APS ) to existing mast and adding a new breaker box so I could have 240v at my house instead of the 120v
