He ran a "ping test" diagnosis on my modem (which I lease from Comcast) and while the signal was strong, there were inconsistencies that could have been enough to interrupt my service. I then insisted Comcast send another tech and sure enough, that was the problem. They actually had to "dumb-down" my modem to an older model that was more tolerant of the inconstancies. I brought my desktop computer in on 12/30/22 to get it repaired because either the motherboard or power supply burned out. I brought the computer in, left it with them, and went about my day. I hadn't heard back from them by 1/4, so I gave them a call to see what the prognosis was. The staff confirmed that the mother board blew out so I asked them to have the tech who was repairing it call me so I could talk to them about the best option to replace the motherboard. The staff (the owner I think) said the tech would call me. Several days after with no call, I call in and the owner tells me the tech will call me back Monday. Monday comes and goes and over the next ten days I call about 6-7 times to speak to the tech who will always "be in later" or who is "on lunch." After about 15 days of no contact from the tech and never being able to get ahold of him, I asked them to reassemble my machine so I can pick it up later. I come in a week later and I'm charged $20 for them to return my computer. I end up paying $25 since he only wanted cash and I only had plastic on me. I would not recommend this place, it felt very unprofessional and a bit suspicious.

They offered me a time that worked for MY schedule (within their working hours) and quoted $100 less than Apple. In addition, they offer pickup and drop-off! The owner messaged me himself and came to pick up my phone so I could keep my work-from-home meeting. Within an hour, I was at the store picking up my phone. Case repaired and no hidden fees, just the agreed-upon price! I would definitely use New Era again, but hopefully not too soon....

I've been talking about canceling Comcast service for years now, as the price just keeps going up…read moreand up. Within ten minutes, Renee outlined a plan for me to get rid of the phone service entirely (replacing it with a dirt-cheap option she referred me to), replace my Comcast router with an affordable wireless router that she recommended (with a better signal!) that's configured for my service provider and will pay for itself in nine months, and she even talked me through the specific things to say to the Comcast reps when they tried to get me to retain all of my services. When all was said and done, I came away with a monthly bill that was less than HALF of what I had been paying previously. I only gave up a handful of channels (most of which I didn't watch anyway)... and I even was able to keep HBO!! I'll save over a thousand bucks on my bill this year.
