Over and Above…read more Bill and the team at Monolith provided excellent customer service. My computer issue was more in-depth than originally anticipated and what set Monolith apart was the consistent contact updating me on computer. I didn't have to sit and wonder what was happening. They were very responsive and communicative. I also appreciate the time Monolith took to explain what was happening with my computer (granted most of it was over my head) but Bill did try to break it down to my level of understanding. On a final note- the prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend Monolith to any of my friends and I will certainly use them again should new computer issues arise.

His fee in included providing me with a copy of the Microsoft OS and the Open Suse installation. But Aziz warned me that he would charge me if I needed MS Office restored. However when I picked up the laptop, Aziz had loaded Ubuntu instead. He explained that there were too many problems when he tried to load Open Suse on this new computer. Initially I agreed to the substitution until I discovered that Ubuntu is more unstable version of Linux than Open Suse. In addition it's not user friendly at all. I had so many issues that I went weeks without a working laptop. When I called him for assistance, Aziz said he had to research the issue online - then he would call me back. One and a half weeks later he called asking whether I still had the same issue. When I said yes, he said he would research it. ( I thought he was already researching the issue.) In the end I requested the ISO copy of my original Microsoft OS so I could restore it to the original version. But he said he was unable to make an ISO copy due to the laptops compartmentalization (?). Instead he offered to restore the Microsoft OS for no charge. 1) I wish I had been informed about the Ubuntu substitution before the completion of the work. 2) Granted, Aziz did not charge me for the Microsoft OS restoration, and I acknowledge he invested a lot of time in working on my laptop, But he kept the money I paid for the Open Suse installation and never delivered on the original contracted service. 3) He does not like people to just show up at the store. He's insistent that people call before stopping by. Bottom Line- I would not recommend Aziz for any Linux related conversions or Linux related repair services. And be very aware that he has a no refund policy - even if you don't receive the service you contracted for.

Great price, super nice, and fast service!!!! This time, I had to go back because the software they installed on my computer got deleted because my hard drive got damaged (under manufacturer warranty) so when it got replaced by Best Buy they deleted everything, they would have charged me more than Office costs to recover info on computer. Anyway, Asaya is redoing what they did originally for me, once again exceeding expectations - THANK YOU!!!

Machero should be rated as Chicago's best Mac repair store…read more Its a class act like this among all the sneaky ones in the world that reaffirm there are good, decent, and honest people left in this world. My Mac's screen sizzled and then went dead after some water damage. I took the Mac to Apple and off course those self serving geniuses immediately told me my Mac is history and I would need to rebuild the entire circuit board for 900.00 or get a new computer. I was bummed and did nothing for month until I realized there is life outside apple care. So I called a few places on yelp and didn't get some good vibes. Most of them wanted to charge me non refundable fees to see if they can fix it and some over the phone also said i needed a new circuit board. So my intuition told me to call Machero and they told me to bring it in for free estimate, no obligation. I figured worse case they would tell me what the others did about a circuit board. An hour after I brought it in, Gino tells me the only thing that was damaged was some memory chips and he can repair everything for under $100.00 total. Now, let me reiterate. I know as much about Macs as I do about astrophysics so he could have told me the bogus b.s. the other places told me and taken me to the cleaners Instead, his focus was on me as a person, not me as a number, or a receipt. Maybe if more businesses and their owners were as decent and ethical as he was, they'd be in business and not part of our financial fiasco. So let me save you time and money and headaches. Be like NIKE: Don't think, just do it, and if you have a Mac issue, bring it in for some real people skills in fixing your mechanical ones.

Gino and I got in touch because of an event I was running for FreshBooks. I needed a space and wanted to spend as little money as possible. I reached out to some of our customers in Chicago and Gino was SO awesome to get back to me super quickly and offer up his space to host our workshop. He worked with me to secure catering, audio-visuals and anything else I needed. Srsly -- ANYTHING! I needed a bunch of chairs and rental places weren't down with renting only 50. He got in touch with a nearby church and helped us arrange a donation to its after school program. AND helped me carry and drive over the chairs throughout one of the city's first snowfalls of the year. Incredible. Gino was the best host ever and I'm basically spoiled for out-of-town events for the rest of my life. Best dude. Best.

Within ten minutes, Renee outlined a plan for me to get rid of the phone service entirely (replacing it with a dirt-cheap option she referred me to), replace my Comcast router with an affordable wireless router that she recommended (with a better signal!) that's configured for my service provider and will pay for itself in nine months, and she even talked me through the specific things to say to the Comcast reps when they tried to get me to retain all of my services. When all was said and done, I came away with a monthly bill that was less than HALF of what I had been paying previously. I only gave up a handful of channels (most of which I didn't watch anyway)... and I even was able to keep HBO!! I'll save over a thousand bucks on my bill this year. Renee had great ideas, clear instructions, and obviously cared about getting me the best outcome possible. Highly recommend!

Mark Lebowitz is a caring and intuitive IT tech…read more I was starting to panic after 2 weeks of no wifi in my home. Comcast had run new cable from the pole but when the problem continued, it became my fault, not theirs. I scrambled to find an independent IT contractor and after a few failed attempts, called Lebowitz IT Services. He ran a "ping test" diagnosis on my modem (which I lease from Comcast) and while the signal was strong, there were inconsistencies that could have been enough to interrupt my service. I then insisted Comcast send another tech and sure enough, that was the problem. They actually had to "dumb-down" my modem to an older model that was more tolerant of the inconstancies. I can certainly recommend Mark for any home business IT work.
