Don't use this place. I brought my comp there for repair. I didn't know if it was the processor or the motherboard. They charged me 85 bucks for the diagnosis.Hell, I could have brought it to micro-center as they only charge 40..I wanted it back right away after paying 335 I thought it was worth it. well f--k 2 weeks later He tells me it's ready. Previously he tells me he will deliver it but when it got done he wanted to charge me another 40 bucks for delivery "fee". When it was done he also tells me the operating system is "corrupted" and he can fix it for a fee. The operating system was working fine before the motherboard went out. Now I can't even get on the internet and have to use my laptop. Do yourself a favor.If you want to gamble with your money don't go to this guy, go to the casino instead. read more

Brought my MacBook Pro for some known issue that Apple has known on the logic board to fail and results in grey or black screen or no booting. After taking it here, twice, I paid close to $200 bucks for the temporary fix. Alan helped me big time to copy photos from a tablet to a new SD card, then with downloading photos which I had posted on Facebook, the only record of photos on a lost SD card. He showed me how to rotate a video posted sideways on Facebook. I know I will be able to count on him in the future with software and hardware problems. I wrote a review of Alan's business of which I was a happy client in the past. This past week apparently Alan had a problem with my review which was honest and to the point. He called me numerous times and texted me numerous times (even though I told him to stop) because I was unhappy with the service I received. Today, I did finally find time to talk to him. (I was visiting family and at work and could not give him the attention he desired). At first, I was just going to delete my review, but as the constant calls and texts kept coming that I should give him a chance...well...just bugged the heck out of me. I didn't want to lie to others, so I updated my comment. As a seasoned professional in the printing industry, I was responsible for estimating and production. I told Alan, first never to just take a job just to get it and not give an estimated time of delivery. It is best to give a date a person can expect it then finish it faster so you look like a hero. I told him I needed it relatively quickly and he took the job on. He could have refused it but did not. It's not like I could have put off my travel plans for as long as he needed to make it right. The Oak Park computer store told me up front it would take a week to even look at it, so I passed on them, which I would have done if he told me upfront he could not do it either. I also recommended to him that he does not low ball the price as he said he does, to me on the phone, but to give a range up front of what it MAY cost. Of course, there are different circumstances, but there is a general idea of what goes on. By estimating a possible worse case scenario, again you look like a hero saving them money. But, Alan is trying to please everyone, and it just doesn't work that way. Not being clear in service times, not being clear in costs, accepting everything that walks in the door (I"m guessing) is going to open one up to disappointing someone at sometime and YELP is here to voice concerns. Alan, do not call me again. Please. This is a fair review leaving out much of what happened. Please just learn from this for the future. Good luck in your endeavors. read more
