Went to the englewood tavern with the fam for a nice time to bond! The location is beautiful and scenic, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! I ordered a crispy chicken Ceasar sandwich and was less than pleased. The Caesar portion had a strange smell and taste that didn't compliment the sandwich and the crispy chicken cutlet was very tough and involved alot of tugging to rip and chew. I honestly dont have the best culinary experiences with englewood when I have gone in the past and don't visit often. Ive previously eaten other chicken sandwiches and pizzas. The chicken sandwiches miss the mark in taste and mouth feel and the pizza is usually too greasy. The saving grace of the night was our waitress! She was brilliant, funny, and attentive to our 7 person party. Really appreciate it! The bill was well over $300 dollars and I dont think it was worth it for the quality of food received. What a great place! Comfy, cozy atmosphere and great drinks! I ordered one of their seasonal drinks, the "ghoul scout macchiato". It was delicious. My partner got the "witch's cauldron". He loved it! Dare I say Englewood Brewing serves the best wings in Hershey?! They're plump, juicy, and have that perfect crunch to them. With seven flavors to choose from (that smokey XX packs a lot of heat!), there's something for everyone. In addition to their wings, we've also enjoyed the jumbo pretzel, chili dog sliders, burgers (check out that EB burger stack), and pizza (spicy farmhouse is delicious!) during our visits to the brewery. Don't forget to enjoy your meal with a beer or two on tap! Each time we've gone service has been good. Plenty of parking available as well in their large parking lot. We planned a family dinner for Saturday, June 14th at Englewood Hershey with my 93 year-old father, who uses a walker. Two days before, my sister phoned to ask about accessibility and whether we could use the elevator, as we have done on prior visits. No one returned her call. She tried again the next day. Same story: no call-back. When we arrived on Saturday evening, the staff denied use of the elevator. They insisted instead that my elderly, mobility-impaired father use a long, sloping curved outdoor walkway in the rain to enter the restaurant at the lower level, vs. the steep indoor or outdoor stairs. The reason given was a private party through which we would have had to pass briefly to access the elevator. During our meal, we asked the manager if we could use the elevator for my father on the way out. She denied us access. When it was time to go, I took him to the elevator anyway, through public dining spaces on the lower level, having used it before with him on prior visits. The alternative would have been to have him walk back UP the long, steep sloping outdoor walkway in the rain with his walker, risking a fall. The rest of our party took the stairs. Having reached the upper level in the elevator, we sought to simply walk from the elevator to the exit toward the parking lot. On the way, we were accosted rudely by staff who exited us through a side door because otherwise we would have had to briefly, unobtrusively pass through what we were told, as we were given the bum's rush, was "a $30,000 wedding." No one expressed concern for our safety related to the elevator. The concern expressed was that we would be disrupting a crowded, noisy $30,000 wedding reception by quietly passing through briefly on the way to the front door. The alternative would be having my father walk back UP the long, steep sloping outdoor walkway in the rain. Englewood Hershey owners maintain the walkway is short and ADA-compliant, but it's a long walk for a 93 year-old in a walker in the rain. I wonder what happens when there's snow on the ground. I don't like to complain and rarely do. All of this unpleasantness could have been avoided had the restaurant answered the phone or returned my sister's call. Had we known the elevator was off limits, we simply would have gone elsewhere. I would NOT recommend Englewood Hershey for anyone with mobility issues. read more

This was our first time back at Englewood since they reopened. The drinks and service are great, the food was hit or miss. It's quite a small menu. We got the IPA Queso to start which I wouldn't get again. My burger (Englewood burger) was good actually - it was quite messy but I don't hold that against it. The only detractor is that it was very salty and the fries were just OK. My fiancé got the Cajun chicken pasta which we both liked a lot. Our waiter was great tho! read more

Enter Cocoa Beanery 2.0. Absolutely terrible food, awful coffee and new to the scene is the most foul language music. Playing Hot Girl Bummer while I had my daughter with me...every other word is the F word. Excellent breakfast ambiance for families- every other song had curse words...it was awful. They serve you in styrofoam regardless of if you're staying to eat here. Well done for thinking about the environment. There's paper plates on the counter but nope, styrofoam it is. The coffee was terrible and the chairs are the most uncomfortable things in the planet. Clearly they don't want you hanging out here throughout the day to spend money in their establishment. This venue hosted the WITF News and Brews event. I enjoyed the hot pretzel nuggets with beer cheese, and so did my fellow diner. The homemade potato chips were good, with the onion dip winning out over the honey cheese dip. Sitting outside after the event, we liked the peaceful ambiance, cooler temperature (after a scorcher of a day), moonlight, calm scatter lighting, and comfortable seating. Ella provided excellent service. Please ask for her, tip her well, and contribute to her college funds! I highly recommend the cheese pizza, customized as you desire. We had tickets for a show and didn't plan on eating at the venue, but time constraints meant it made the most sense to head downstairs for a bite before bluegrass. Was happy to see that the menu was pretty decent. Good beer and food. I think our server is having a bad night, and parking is tough which is the reason for 4 stars. The old barn is super cute and doesn't feel kitschy at all. The venue embraces history without going overboard or exaggerating the old brick and beams. We opted to sit inside for dinner as it was raining, but I could still spot the rainbow from our table. My Brussels pizza was really tasty and boyfriend enjoyed his foot long hotdog. The fries are super and full of flavor. We were kinda rushing so we could make the show upstairs so we didn't linger. read more

A great place to go after work, or for a fancy evening for drinks. They have some good drinks and food on their menu, which does change seasonally. Their servers are always nice, and are able to host large groups. Their outdoor seating is really nice for dining when the weather is nicer, but if you want to just grab a drink, they have a bar upstairs. It gets busy pretty quickly, so get there early or call ahead to avoid long waits! read more

I enjoyed my first visit to The Englewood gorba Penn State football watch party and was very pleasantly surprised. While the Englewood is an "event space" it is also open for dining on weekends. The facility is beautiful and the event space is large and well equipped. The facility is a wonderfully restored vintage barn that is modern throughout. Food, drink, and service were excellent--especially considering we were part of a large event group. I enjoyed the Barnyard Chili and s margherita flatbread. The full bar features a nice selection of craft beers brewed on site. Looking forward to return visit to sample the full restaurant experience. read more

Excellent service, great ambiance! Definitely get the pretzel as a starter, it's a large portion size and great to share. It was delightfully soft and fresh. For the pizzas, if you like mushrooms, do not miss out on the mushroom calypso pie. We ended up customizing it to add spicy marinara sauce and left off the balsamic. Would highly recommend! This place was a nice surprise for my first stop in Hershey to eat. The view was not astoundingly beautiful, but it was enjoyable to be in the shade while eating outdoors. I think the company you are with can make or break this place and I ended up having an enjoyable time here. The one thing I would like is more natural flavoring in the food rather than the salt. I think the food options depended on the salt to push the flavoring forward. The cedar plank salmon was good, but the taste of the salmon was falling short, but I did really like the smell of the cedar that was coming out from the dish. The interior of the place was a pleasant surprise and the parking is plenty. They kept it clean and it was just peaceful being around the area. What a great spot! The Englewood is an experience. It's truly expansive, with thoughtful details in every inch. With a diverse menu, in house beer, plenty of parking, and stunning outdoor seating, this is a perfect place for a socially distanced outdoor hang. When first perusing the food menu, I was a little taken aback by the prices. They seemed to be a little on the higher side. However, when our plates came, and I saw the portions, the prices made a little more sense. They were large and delicious! We ordered two poutine for our table of six as an appetizer, and it was insane. There were large chunks of brisket, lots of delicious gravy, and of course, curds (though I'm of the opinion that you can never have enough cheese). The in-house beer was okay. I wasn't thrilled with my IPA, but my boyfriend had a Berliner Weiss that was delicious, fruity, and refreshing. They also had cocktails and ciders for those who crave something different. My only complaint was the service. It was very slow. While our server was kind and friendly, it took a long time to get our beers and our checks to leave. I chalk this up to perhaps being understaffed. I know they're a newer establishment, so they might still be in the "working out the kinks" phase. Overall, I was super pleased with our dinner and experience at The Englewood. I do hope they install some outdoor heaters, as the chill was real when the sun began to set. The outdoor seating is vast and stunning, but it will be unsustainable come winter without some heating options. read more

The beers (we sampled 8 different beers) were ALL well-balanced, flavorful and unique in style and presentation. Everything that came out of the kitchen was picture perfect and prepared with fresh ingredients that pleases the most discriminating palate. TLDR; overall rating is 3.5. It's an easy 5 of 5 for best Greek Pizza of all time but that is suddenly gone from takeout menu, and other items are hit or miss. Will add a star back if pizza returns. The Greek pizza minus the chicken was a 5+ out of 5, the best pizza I've ever had, and had whole kalamata and green olives and feta on it. See pic. Absolutely loved it. I nearly cried when I saw it was no longer on the takeout menu. I understand this is not a normal reaction but Hershey is a sad takeout area so I don't have any similar options! I won't be ordering from here again unless it returns. Pretzel as-is (on the edge of raw every time) is a 3 of 5, but reheated and browned properly in a toaster oven turns into a 5 out of 5. If you're dining in, I'd suggest maybe you nicely ask for it well-done (basically you want it brown...like a pretzel...but I don't know how to say that and not sound like an ____ to the staff). It has never ever been remotely brown, not even light golden. Beer cheese that comes with it is lumpy and bitter (IPA?), but the honey mustard is great. Also gone from the takeout menu is the excellent and weird Oreo peanut butter pie mashup (poorly packaged so arrives disintegrated - once all over the takeout bag - after the 3 minute drive to my home - but still very good) - 4.5 out of 5. Chocolate peanut butter cake not good - 2.5 out of 5. We are in a land of great chocolate peanut butter cakes - try Giant, Chocolate World, Desserts Etc. in that order. The grilled chicken sandwich formerly on the menu was well-liked by others here, though the new one looks like a different sandwich. Fries were rated as "ok." read more

I came here for the first time with friends for Bar Bingo. We sat on the patio and it was a beautiful area with seating available around a fire pit and tables that were spaced very well. We all ordered different appetizers to share and took advantage of the happy hour special of $2 off drinks. I ordered the burrata app and was very happy with it. The balsamic glaze was the perfect amount and the tomatoes were fresh & sweet. My friends got the street corn dip and the crab dip with pretzel nuggets. The street corn was very good and had nice flavors. The crab dip itself was yummy, but the pretzel nuggets were hard. I had a tough time choosing my main dish, but went with the carne asada torta. I loved this sandwich! The meat was tender, the balance of heat was spot on, and the touch of queso was lovely. I also tried a slice of my friend's mushroom calypso pizza and was impressed. I wasn't sure how I would feel about pistachios and lettuce being on a pizza, but the nuts added a good texture and there wasn't enough lettuce to make it weird. We also ordered dessert, which was just 'meh' for me. I ordered the boca negra creme brulee, but it was more like a mousse. I was hoping for deeper flavors as it contained espresso and bourbon, but it was pretty bland. Our server was not as attentive as we would have liked and we had to flag him down once or twice, but he brought our items quickly after asking for them. I really enjoyed the beers (I got a flight to try a few). My friend said the Englewood reminds her of Troeg's when it first got to the Hershey location and I can see that-- great beer, good food at decent prices. I am not sure what I think of this place. I WANT To love it as its a great location and cool concept to have entertainment space and a nice restaurant. But I haven't been blown away. The drinks are very good - The orange cosmo was refreshing and they were able to make an espresso martini that was one of the best ones I've had. The poutine fries were flavorless yet super salty...I know that doesn't make sense. But the bites I got without gravy were bland and then I added the gravy and my eyes watered. And they were super expensive. I feel like some of the entree prices, however, are reasonable. It's one of those kind of menus where I can't figure out how they come up with the pricing. I got the salmon greek salad which was good but the fish was undercooked and the dessert was pretty decent - probably the best food we got. Our service was not great. We weren't even greeted for quite some time once we sat. And many employees walked by us and no one even made eye contact. Once we finally got waited on it was still a slow go. It took us forever to get another drink or even add dessert. So this so far to me fits the mixed reviews I keep hearing. I just hope they improve to remain with the food reviews I hear are possible. We stopped by the Englewood for drinks after dining at another establishment in the area and were impressed with the facilities. The bottom floor dining area and long bar created a very inviting place for guests. Since we'd just eaten we grabbed drinks and sat by the outdoor fire pit. This outdoor area is amazing and provides a place to just relax, enjoy a beverage, and socialize with friends. We didn't try any food, but the craft beer was pretty good.
