Great experience. The staff was accommodating to where we wanted to sit and they took their time to serve us. We didn't feel rushed. It is a small restaurant with a cozy feeling. We were able to sit at the bar top area. The menu has a lot of options. Try the Enerugi wings. They are said to be spicy but not like fire mouth burning. lol. I've tried this place several times because I love ramen, but unfortunately, there has consistently been something off about the noodles. They have a foul smell that I've never experienced with ramen anywhere else, which makes me question the quality or freshness of where the noodles are being sourced. I decided to give it one last try, and unfortunately, I ended up getting food poisoning afterward. At this point, I won't be ordering from here again. I really hope they look into the quality and handling of their ingredients. read more

This is a decent bowl of ramen. There's definitely better in the city, but all in all, it's not that bad, nor is it too expensive. My favorite part of the ramen was the pork. I like how it was cut thick and charred nicely. I did really like the takoyaki as well. The service and ambiance are good as well. I would return if I'm in the area looking for a convenient bite, but if I'm seeking out the best ramen in the city, I will be going elsewhere. read more

I ordered the Kimchi Ramen and it was very flavorful. Ordering vs. Dining always has its own challenges but regardless, it was a nice ramen portion for a cold winter night. Couple of items - - Packaging - I would recommend the bowls are taped closed. My ramen bowl lid was open when i opened my bag. - My ramen had a piece of ground beef or pork mixed in by accident. I can't eat beef or pork so it was disappointing when i found it. read more

This ramen really hit the spot on a rainy day! I went with a friend during dinner time on a Friday and there wasn't a wait at all to get seated. We both ordered the Pai Tan ramen with chashu and black garlic. The flavors were super rich without being overly salty. My only complaint is I wish that there was more broth! It felt like all my noodles soaked up the soup, and there wasn't enough for me to keep sipping on as I ate. Still pretty solid though! read more

Super cold outside and looking for something warm and cozy for dinner, with little wait and little fuss. Headed a couple blocks to Enerugi Ramen. No wait, worries and plenty of warmth. Even on this cold day, they had the restaurant toasty and ready to serve! After taking a while to decide the server wanted to know if I'd like some recommendations... which I was so thankful for! Haven't had outside Ramen in ages and wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go.... Chicken or pork. Definitely wanted a bone broth base as my protein intake is carefully calculated, and wavy noodles always preferred. He recommended the signature dish which was a pork/chicken combo bone broth (although he said 80%pork). I went with his recommendation as he assured me the pork would also be tender. Trusting my server has never gone better... the broth had depth and was flavorful yet not fatty. The wavy noodles had perfect bite and the tamagotchi was perfection. Trying all the dry condiments, my favorite was the dried garlic.... sooooo good! Would have liked to at least have had a whole egg (2 halves) as I find a 1/2 egg to be less than expected in a ramen bowl this size. Especially when it is the best part of the dish! (Hence the minus 1 star, on portion size) I was able to finish and left filled to the brim, belly full and warm. Less than 20$ a person... and best part not having to do the dishes. Went in for lunch today, not many parties, fast seating, fast service, i was solo. The place was nice and quiet and i just watched youtube while i dined. Ordered the cold kimchi ramen cause it was a hot 90F+ day. Waiter warned me it's spicy, i told her great! (it's really not spicy for me at all, but i eat thai spice for enjoyment) The noodle came out relatively fast, the noodle is nice and bouncy, everything is nice and cool. Eggs, Chicken, Kimchi, Corn, and Bamboo Shoots. The different topings complimented each other and i finished with spoon to get all the corn. I did not ordered any side, and i wouldn't because the noodle portion was just PERFECT size for me. Will add to lunch rotation for sure, the cold noodle is PERFECT for summer. read more

Perfect bowl of ramen for a cold rainy night. I ordered the veggie shoyu ramen, which came with snow peas, enoki mushrooms, and other good stuff. I thought the broth was flavorful, but it did benefit from adding some chili oil and sesame seeds. The noodles were nice and fresh and I liked the assortment of veggies included in the soup. My only complaint was that I wish the veggie ramen came with tofu by default. I finished the entire thing and still got hungry again within a few hours. read more

I had this place bookmarked for some reason, so I have been wanting to check it out. Maybe I saw it on a feed somewhere. I decided to check it out as it was marked. There was no wait, and I doubt reservations are needed as people are coming and going. It took me a while to decide what to order. Ordered two appetizers, and only one came out, but we were still charged for two. Had to fix that right away, and they realized that another table got our order for free. Double check your receipt, which I always do now. Got the potato tots as the appetizer, and it has a different spin to it as there are flakes on top of it. I got the tan tan noodles soup that comes in spicy broth, and it wasn't spicy at all. I had to add the hot oil and the chili spice that came on the side. I really didn't taste any spice at all. If you want spicy, this isn't the place for it. read more

RATING: 7.1/10 My friend who goes here regularly told me that if I was in Greenpoint I should check it out - while it's not necessarily a destination spot, it is surprisingly good for being "just a neighborhood spot." Since I was spending all day eatin gin Greenpoint anyway, I decided to give it a shot CLASSIC SHOYU Ok, so I will say that that yes the broth is better than you might expect from a regular ramen place but not quite meeting standards of "you GOT to come to greenpoint to try this place." However, if you live here or in a neighboring area, DO order out when want ramen. The noodles though are really great quality and have a perfect chew, with wavy shape which is my preference. The meat is nice and salty. If I'm back in the neighborhood, I would definitely come back! read more

Had been there once for lunch by myself and had a very pleasant meal went back the other night with my sister for an early dinner and had a completely different experience. The only table option we were given was a two top crammed against a wall and the only other customers (parents with their 6 year old) though there were other tables (not reserved) so we opted for the bar. We were then treated with condescension and rudeness when ordering and being served, and the food quite frankly was mediocre at best. Next time we will cross the bridge into Queens where for the same price we'll have a far superior and authentic meal. Maybe it we would have been treated better if we had been white like the customers who arrived as we were leaving and were accommodated by the host who broke up the six top into a two and a four so they wouldn't have to dine uncomfortably crammed against the wall at the table we had been originally offered. read more

So I was walking by randomly and saw this place and figured I'd give it a try as it was a bit chilly and I was hungry. It's a cute set up and even around 4pm still had people eating inside. The server was very nice and friendly. He recommended me the curry Katey ramen so I ordered that. The Katsu was delicious and perfectly crispy. The soup was very flavorful and served as a great dipping sauce for the katsu. The corn and scallions really added to the dish. I will come back to try more dishes. read more

I got the signature pai tan ramen with black garlic. It was not bad, but not the best. The chashu was cooked really well -- tender and flavorful, and so was the egg. Although the initial slurps of the soup were pretty good, I feel like it got old pretty quick. I also don't love bamboo (probably my fault for not asking it to be removed) and I felt like the bamboo shoot flavors started to infuse the broth in a bad way. I do think the black garlic was nice though. I wouldn't yearn to come back, but if I did I'd get a different dish. read more

4.5 stars - rich & flavorful broth with the Pai Ten ramen! The toppings are generous with pork cha shu, egg, menma, and woodear. Noodles were cooked perfectly - al dente with a nice chew, and perfectly slurpable. Portions were decent for me, but may be a bit on the smaller side for others. Service was relatively quick & friendly. They do try quite a bit to sell the black garlic and spicy oil additions ($1). The restaurant is spacious, but could improve on the ventilation since it's an open kitchen/ramen bar concept. read more

One of the most exciting ramen shops to debut in New York in recent memory. Located in Greenpoint, this is a charming neighborhood eatery worth making a visit. The prices are reasonable and the selection is just extraordinary; they've got ramen to fit all fancies, including some excellent vegetarian options. Everything on the menu sounds so good it's hard to pick just one thing. Luckily I was with friends and got to try a little of several dishes. It's all good. The spicy tuna tartare was fresh and delicious, nicely textured, a cool and crisp appetizer with lots of avocado for an impressive overall protein level. The teriyaki chicken also got high marks, but the ramen deserves to be at the front. The house specialty is outstanding but the yuzu shio ramen stole the show. I've long been partial to a simple shoyu ramen so that's on my agenda the next time I visit. The service was great, big shout out to the staff for their knowledge and professionalism. This restaurant already feels like it's always been here forever and I look forward to more delicious meals. read more

My foodie wife and I both enjoy this restaurant. The servers are friendly, and one in particular we connected with in Mandarin while sharing updates about our pregnancy. Got seated immediately on a late cold Friday night. Pretty brightly lit restraurant. We were cold and wanted some soup to warm us up nearby. This place was also on my list for a while. I normally get some kind of beef or pork ramen but I decided to go with the chicken ramen. The food came out fairly quick. The broth was pretty tasty. Not salty and flavorful. I like how half an egg was included and we didnt have to add one. The chicken tasted like the Chinese ginger chicken. It wasn't dry for a chicken breast. The ramen didn't wow me. I've walked by this place a few times, so I was excited to try it out. It's a cute place, kinda small. There's a few bigger tables and then individual seats near the window. Not the biggest space, but when I was there I saw a mixture of individual diners and a larger group. Vibe was more on the quiet side, which can be nice. The food was good. Satisfied my ramen craving. Pricing was on par with other places (under or about $20). You can see the chefs making your dish. Only weird thing I saw was a chef eating/taking small bites of something during the down time. I don't care that he was eating, but it just looked odd because of the small space and open concept between the dining room and the kitchen (I also didn't see him change gloves in-between). read more

Absolute YUM. Such a gem of greenpoint. I visited from Manhattan for some ramen soup this week. The space is small but clean I had the spicy chicken broth and extra protein (chicken). It was flavorful and truly spicy. We also had some strawberry mochi ice cream to help offset the spicy. Highly highly recommend this spot. Service was great and speedy! read more

Really great ramen spot in Greenpoint! Walked in on a Thursday and was seated with no wait. Our server was very kind and helped answer questions about the menu regarding dietary restrictions. There are multiple vegetarian and chicken only ramen options which I really appreciated! The ramen itself was delicious - flavorful broth, fresh toppings, perfectly cooked chicken! I ordered the spicy ramen and would have preferred the broth spicier than it was but was also spice on the side to adjust spice level. Hands down one of the best ramen spots I've been to in NYC! I'm originally from Hawaii and I'd say some of the ramen there is very close to authentic Japanese. Enerugi is on that same list! You NEED to order the curry ramen, rock shrimp, and especially the Pai Tan Ramen (which is their signature). On top of that the restaurants decor is perfect for a date, or even a solo date, with the most attentive service. Our food came out optimal times, especially with having order a lot, our table wasn't over crowded. And the staff is so nice and welcoming. I walked in and was greeted right away by the staff. Nice and bright atmosphere. Family friendly accepted as well as for individuals like me to dine in. I got seated by the counter in front of the open kitchen. I ordered: 1. karaage chicken - tender and juicy. They gave a good amount. Spicy sauce on the side. 2. Veg. Miso ramen - plentiful of kale noodles. Great amount of corn, mushrooms, etc. The broth is umami! The food definitely great here and made to order. My food came hot. They also take reservations. DONT EVEN READ MY REVIEW JUST GO!!! Ok, I had to start out with telling you to go to this place, but honestly 10 out of 10!! Me and hubby out as usual looking for food and saw Enerugi Ramen and decided to stop in. Reviews were saying to make a reservation but I don't think it's necessary. We went Sunday Early Afternoon and got a table for 2 with ease. We went simple, shared an app (Kara age) He got the Curry Katsu Ramen and I The Classic Shoyu Ramen. That Kara age came to the table fresh out the Fryer and my god was it deliciously seasoned to perfection and fried to a goldeny crisp that would make the most decorated Chef shed a masterfully proud tear of happiness. While me and hubby were fighting for the last pieces our Highly anticipated Ramen came out and needless to say, there was no talking. We got straight to business tasting broth, and giving each other sips and bites of our ramen. Everything was perfect. The waitresses weren't far kind of hovering around bit but it was greatly appreciated. When we needed something they were immediately on it. From refills to checks to order updates, they were efficient and extremely helpful. The restaurant itself isn't completely huge so timing is of the essence and be punctual in case you do make a reservation. We left happy and full and will make sure to come again. I started writing this review the minute our check came and hit submit before we even left. That's how hyped I am about this place. Came in during their soft opening and it was so tasty! Their servers were attentive and accommodating. They offered us their recommendations and it did not disappoint. Since it was newly constructed, there were lots of seating which is adaptable to bigger parties as well. My favorite part of the ramen is that the soup base was very rich. The pork flavor did not overpower the noodles. They also included lots of condiments on the side such as chili oil, fried garlic, chili flakes & sesame to enhance the flavor. Occasionally I like my food spicy, but sometimes I like it plain. The restaurant has given me the autonomy to change my ramen by each bite. I never order poke at a ramen shop, and this was delicious!! The tuna was very fresh & there was lots of sauce so there is never one bite that was dry at all. Great addition to the Greenpoint neighborhood. This ramen shop specializes in Hakata style ramen and I thought the flavor of the broth was rich. The noodles here are thinner than some other ramen shops, which is probably the key characteristic of this different style of ramen. I personally really like the thinner noodles -- they had great consistency and complemented the broth well. There was no wait for a table of 2 on a Thursday evening during prime dinner hour which was great. However, I did notice that getting the ramen took a little bit longer than I was anticipating. I think if you're specializing in ramen, it's important that your service is also fast. They're a new restaurant though, so they could just be figuring out how to be efficient and working on some of the nooks and crannies. read more

I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Kenny, was attentive, friendly, and checked in on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. Our server recommended a hot appetizer and a fancier option from their Summer Special menu: KARAAGE - 14 Each order came with five thick pieces of chicken karaage. The chicken arrived hot and juicy, seasoned well enough to be enjoyed on its own or dipped in the side of shichimi mayo. This was a great appetizer to share, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a reliable classic. TEMAKI SET - 95 Served in roughly an 8"x8" wooden box, this set was lavishly topped toro, Hokkaido uni, ikura, and possibly Iberian ham, with crispt nori sheets on the side to make DIY handrolls. After scooping a bit of everything into a little wrap, I was greeted with the most intense, fresh sea flavors. The toro and Iberian ham were fatty and buttery, blending seamlessly with the velvety smooth uni and the fresh, bursting pops of ikura. I had to pause after every bite just to deeply savor it, and I lost count of how many times I said, "Wow, this is so good." Since I don't live in NYC, I generally avoid repeating restaurants even if I enjoyed them. However, Ozakaya is an exception to this rule -- it's easily one of the best meals I've eaten during all my recent visits. I don't know where they source their seafood, but it's incredibly fresh and packed with umami.
