Super cold outside and looking for something warm and cozy for dinner, with little wait and little fuss. Headed a couple blocks to Enerugi Ramen. No wait, worries and plenty of warmth. Even on this cold day, they had the restaurant toasty and ready to serve! After taking a while to decide the server wanted to know if I'd like some recommendations... which I was so thankful for! Haven't had outside Ramen in ages and wasn't sure which direction I wanted to go.... Chicken or pork. Definitely wanted a bone broth base as my protein intake is carefully calculated, and wavy noodles always preferred. He recommended the signature dish which was a pork/chicken combo bone broth (although he said 80%pork). I went with his recommendation as he assured me the pork would also be tender. Trusting my server has never gone better... the broth had depth and was flavorful yet not fatty. The wavy noodles had perfect bite and the tamagotchi was perfection. Trying all the dry condiments, my favorite was the dried garlic.... sooooo good! Would have liked to at least have had a whole egg (2 halves) as I find a 1/2 egg to be less than expected in a ramen bowl this size. Especially when it is the best part of the dish! (Hence the minus 1 star, on portion size) I was able to finish and left filled to the brim, belly full and warm. Less than 20$ a person... and best part not having to do the dishes. This ramen really hit the spot on a rainy day! I went with a friend during dinner time on a Friday and there wasn't a wait at all to get seated. We both ordered the Pai Tan ramen with chashu and black garlic. The flavors were super rich without being overly salty. My only complaint is I wish that there was more broth! It felt like all my noodles soaked up the soup, and there wasn't enough for me to keep sipping on as I ate. Still pretty solid though! read more

Had been there once for lunch by myself and had a very pleasant meal went back the other night with my sister for an early dinner and had a completely different experience. The only table option we were given was a two top crammed against a wall and the only other customers (parents with their 6 year old) though there were other tables (not reserved) so we opted for the bar. We were then treated with condescension and rudeness when ordering and being served, and the food quite frankly was mediocre at best. Next time we will cross the bridge into Queens where for the same price we'll have a far superior and authentic meal. Maybe it we would have been treated better if we had been white like the customers who arrived as we were leaving and were accommodated by the host who broke up the six top into a two and a four so they wouldn't have to dine uncomfortably crammed against the wall at the table we had been originally offered. read more

Went in for lunch today, not many parties, fast seating, fast service, i was solo. The place was nice and quiet and i just watched youtube while i dined. Ordered the cold kimchi ramen cause it was a hot 90F+ day. Waiter warned me it's spicy, i told her great! (it's really not spicy for me at all, but i eat thai spice for enjoyment) The noodle came out relatively fast, the noodle is nice and bouncy, everything is nice and cool. Eggs, Chicken, Kimchi, Corn, and Bamboo Shoots. The different topings complimented each other and i finished with spoon to get all the corn. Perfect bowl of ramen for a cold rainy night. I ordered the veggie shoyu ramen, which came with snow peas, enoki mushrooms, and other good stuff. I thought the broth was flavorful, but it did benefit from adding some chili oil and sesame seeds. The noodles were nice and fresh and I liked the assortment of veggies included in the soup. Double check your receipt, which I always do now. Got the potato tots as the appetizer, and it has a different spin to it as there are flakes on top of it. I got the tan tan noodles soup that comes in spicy broth, and it wasn't spicy at all. I had to add the hot oil and the chili spice that came on the side. I really didn't taste any spice at all. One of the most exciting ramen shops to debut in New York in recent memory. Located in Greenpoint, this is a charming neighborhood eatery worth making a visit. Everything on the menu sounds so good it's hard to pick just one thing. Luckily I was with friends and got to try a little of several dishes. It's all good. The spicy tuna tartare was fresh and delicious, nicely textured, a cool and crisp appetizer with lots of avocado for an impressive overall protein level. The teriyaki chicken also got high marks, but the ramen deserves to be at the front. The house specialty is outstanding but the yuzu shio ramen stole the show. I've long been partial to a simple shoyu ramen so that's on my agenda the next time I visit. The service was great, big shout out to the staff for their knowledge and professionalism. Not the biggest space, but when I was there I saw a mixture of individual diners and a larger group. Vibe was more on the quiet side, which can be nice. The food was good. Satisfied my ramen craving. That Kara age came to the table fresh out the Fryer and my god was it deliciously seasoned to perfection and fried to a goldeny crisp that would make the most decorated Chef shed a masterfully proud tear of happiness. While me and hubby were fighting for the last pieces our Highly anticipated Ramen came out and needless to say, there was no talking. We got straight to business tasting broth, and giving each other sips and bites of our ramen. Everything was perfect. The waitresses weren't far kind of hovering around bit but it was greatly appreciated. When we needed something they were immediately on it. From refills to checks to order updates, they were efficient and extremely helpful. The restaurant itself isn't completely huge so timing is of the essence and be punctual in case you do make a reservation. We left happy and full and will make sure to come again. Hands down one of the best ramen spots I've been to in NYC! I'm originally from Hawaii and I'd say some of the ramen there is very close to authentic Japanese. Enerugi is on that same list! You NEED to order the curry ramen, rock shrimp, and especially the Pai Tan Ramen (which is their signature). On top of that the restaurants decor is perfect for a date, or even a solo date, with the most attentive service. Our food came out optimal times, especially with having order a lot, our table wasn't over crowded. And the staff is so nice and welcoming. The noodles here are thinner than some other ramen shops, which is probably the key characteristic of this different style of ramen. I personally really like the thinner noodles -- they had great consistency and complemented the broth well. There was no wait for a table of 2 on a Thursday evening during prime dinner hour which was great. However, I did notice that getting the ramen took a little bit longer than I was anticipating. I think if you're specializing in ramen, it's important that your service is also fast.
