I went in to Empress Nails because I was on a time crunch and my regular nail lady at another salon was booked completely. I wasn't expecting much, and thought I'd have to wait. I went here today, wanted a regular French tip, told the guy at check in I wanted one. This was my second time ever getting a mani, and so I dont know all that is involved really. Halfway through I decide I should get my first ever pedi too. After completing everything, I go to pay and the lady says $75. I am like, no I only got a regular paint done. She's like no, you got the no chip. I never once asked for that. I left so beyond upset, and I will never go back here ever again. I felt like I was robbed. read more

STAY AWAY FOR THIS PLACE!! My no chip manicure chipped in 2 days and completely peeled apart in 4 days. When cutting my cuticles the woman cut too deep and made 3 of my fingers bleed. I did not see clean equipment being used either, which makes it much worse and dangerous that she cut me. They also made my friend wait over 45 minutes before she even started, and I was already done by then. Normal no chips last me 2-3 weeks and cost $30. This was unclean, painful, lasted 2 days and cost me $35. I will NEVER go there again and I recommend you stay away too. read more

Don't bother making an appointment unless you are the VERY first of the day. They take everyone who comes in which delays every single appointment. They also don't call you when associates get sick and won't be available for your scheduled appointment, even when you're a long-standing loyal customer for years and have had the appointment booked for weeks. If you want a relaxing, spa-like experience this is NOT the place. The staff are very loud and even eat at their stations. Go elsewhere. read more

Asked if I could make an appointment when I dropped in and I was told by the very friendly receptionist if I could wait about 15 minutes they could take me now. I waited in the waiting area for 15 minutes and then was left to soak. 45 minutes layer and three other patrons mysteriously served before me that came in after me, and after painfully wrinkled feet, I left. An hour long complete waste of time. Been here once before and had great service but this cosmic time suck has me wishing I never veered from my tried and true pedicure spot Elegance Nail & Spa- even when super busy there, i've always gotten an honest assessment of the wait and never ever was left to soak longer than 10 minutes. I thought they were rude, I stood there for a while without anyone asking if I needed anything and then the guy who did my nails seemed like it was his first time and he didn't talk to me at all. They just opened a new location in Naperville. It is very nice and clean. I got a spa pedicure there. It was amazing. They wrap your feet with a hot towel while working on your nails which is awesome. The staffs are very friendly and the price is not bad. read more

I love this place! I showed my nail technician, Lewis, a picture of what I wanted and he recreated it beautifully, if not better. Everyone is so kind there and genuinely wants to have a conversation. It is clean there, too. As I was there, there was a woman there going around the salon cleaning equipment and chairs. The place is great. They even know many customers on a first-name basis and warmly welcome them and anyone else who comes in. Highly recommend!! read more

I figured I'd give this place a try for the first time since we recently moved to the area. The first visit went very well and i was pleased. The second visit was on a Sunday and on Monday two nails broke while putting dishes in a dishwasher and doing laundry. As a regular with getting my nails done, this has never happened especially not so quickly. I called to schedule an appointment as i'm every busy and it would be an inconvenience to be there again for 2 hours when i was just there the day before. I explained the situation and was told that this would be $3 each nail. And here we are. That's ridiculous! On top of that the shape of my nails aren't even how i like them but you can tell the nail tech was getting frustrated when i kept trying to explain it. I won't be back! read more

Real talk, this is not a place where you would go to relax. Perhaps, it is a place where you can go to get your nails done looking on point. I'm very pleased with the result. Ryan and his wife are so kind and nice. They always make sure to make you feel comfortable. I love how they always try to translate things others nails tech are speaking to each others. I used to be a nail tech so i know exactly how it's like working at a nails salon as well as what nails tech always discussed about. I would absolutely recommend Ryan for the nails since he takes his sweet time and make sure you're happy with every single nails of yours. And his wife (I apologize, I didn't ask for her name) is great at pedicure (she haven't done my nails for me to judge but she did my rhinestones design). I didn't like the Korean lady who finished my pedicure though. My toes still itches, but thanks God Ryan's wife cleaned my big toes for me. read more

I had been wanting to get a pair of acrylic nails for quite a while and decided on a whim to stop into Empress Nails because it's right next to my work. They were super friendly and welcoming! The facility smelled good, looked very clean and had a very relaxing ambiance! They sat me down right away with Veronica, and she did an awesome job! Most uncomfortable pedicure I ever had. The techs are definately laughing at their cliients! I Heard them laughing at the women who left before me. The only thing I understood was her name. My tech looked up at the ceiling and avoided eye contact and acted repulsed the whole time. Then when it was over he was laughing with a co-worker. Ive been a customer for over a year now, but the customer service is going downhill. I made an appointment for 2 people at 3:15, why were we soaking our feet for an hour?! Then we were promised multiple times (after asking) that it would only be 10-15 minutes. The water was cold, my grandmas feet turned green from the dye, and we overheard them telling new people that it would only be 10 minutes. Yeah we left...and Um...needless to say never again. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! The employees all yell, yes YELL, across the room in Vietnamese to each other constantly. The tools do not seem very clean. They charge you when getting a fill to shorten your nails back to the original length.... ISNT THAT THE POINT OF A FILL?! I came in with one nail off but was somehow charged an extra $7. When I asked for clarification, I got lots of arguing in Vietnamese, told I was a liar (she claimed I came in with 2 nails missing), and told that if they "knew I would be like this" they would've shown me that my nails were lifting & needed to be replaced instead of painfully yanking them off. Then while the tech painted my nails, she lectured me about how she knows more about nails than I do and I shouldn't question her. Even after I asked her to just leave the issue alone she made rude comments and proceeded to talk about me in Vietnamese (the pointing at me and random english words gave ya away lady!) read more

WARNING!! I have been going to Empress Nails for about 9 months now, because it is convenientoy located close to my home. Every time I go, I leave humiliated & upset. Today was my last time! If you have a young & attractive daughter, please do not take her here or let her go alone. My daughter is visually undressed every time she goes there by one of the mail techs. So much that I had to tell him to STOP. I found a lady tech there that does a good job & I always book to make sure we get only her. Today they double booked, I was in the chair getting my nails done & someone else came in that had an appointment with her. They double booked! I know because I have another appointment booked tomorrow at the same time & wouldn't have done that. I was asked to come back or let someone else do my nails. I declined. I don't leave many reviews but if I had a good experience at a place with not so great reviews I always try to leave one. Jenny was great for the pedicure. Amazing foot and leg massage. I'm not sure who I had for the no chip manicure. The paint job was just ok on that. They were quick and efficient. Place was clean and everyone was nice.
