It is typical American style Chinese food and it's hard to find a really good one; we always get the sweet n sour chicken, Kung pao chicken, chicken with veggies, and lo mein in some combination. 2 of these is enough to feed 2 adults with leftovers for lunch the next day- portions are huge! read more

As someone who has worked in the food industry for over 22 years, including at a Chinese restaurant, I am extremely picky wwhen it comes to my Asian food. I LOVE Empire Wok. I have zero complaints. I do however have multiple compliments. Everything I have tried has been amazing! The cashew chicken is TO DIE FOR! Best sauce I have ever had on this particular dish. So most sit down Chinese places are better decorated than this one. The food might be fresh but the taste was very off. That was nor orange chicken flavor at all. The service was very poor the lady was not Chinese did not care to be there told me you pay here you sit down wait for your food I was just like all right wow. The place is also kind of dirty kind of run-down the whole mall area is nice and new but this place must have been here like years before. This is my go-to place for Chinese food. I love the location, being a very large parking lot with easy access, I never have traffic issues getting here. While the inside of the restaurant is rather simple with limited décor, I've only ever gone here for takeout. They always have my meal ready by the time I arrive, I'm never kept waiting. I'll admit, the menu is hit or miss for me, but I can say that about any place that serves Chinese food. I've found that I'm particularly fond of their Pork Lo Mein, and their steamed dumplings. The pricing is very fair given what you're getting. My favorite menu item is their Sweet Donuts. They come out warm and dusted with sugar, very simplified. They're fluffy and sweet, and you get 10 of them for just under $$3.59 Finally, they've done well to keep with covid regulations, having a BIG plastic divider separating them from patrons. I'd recommend this location for takeout, and especially for their sweet donuts. read more

Summary: Good food, big portions, good value, quick & friendly service, and a clean restaurant. This restaurant just opened (Spring 2014), and is next door to the Gold's Gym across from the Cinepmark movie theater. We came here to try the $6.50 dinner combos before a movie, and can definitely recommend this place for a "dinner & a movie" date night. First off, it's very clean. Of course it's also very new, so hopefully it'll stay that way. It seems to be family-run, and the staff are nice and friendly. Compared to other Chinese places, I think this place is a great value. The dinner combo comes with an egg roll (I think they offer pork or vegetable with it), choice of main dish, and ham fried rice. The serving sizes are very generous (at least bigger than our Janbo and Fong's, our other local favorites). We really liked the ham fried rice, as it has plenty of big meat chunks in it. The sweet & sour chicken was great: lots of chicken, nicely cooked in a good batter, and a great not-too-sweet sauce. It doesn't come with veggies & pineapple like some sweet & sours do - just a heap of deliciously fried meat. The garlic shrimp dish was pretty good, and comes with lots of veggies. Let's see, what else... they have coke products for drinks in the soda fountain. Seating is a mix of booths and tables, with a high chair for kids. Plenty of parking. Oh, and they have wifi. So I have to lay out my my Chinese Food Disclaimer: I think Chinese food is all the same. Ok, not exactly, but for the most part all the take-out style is "substantially similar." Sweet & sour chicken for example: you can pay $15 at PF Chang, $8 at Panda Express, or $4 at a dive hole-in-the-wall, and they all taste within about 10% of each other. There's just not as much variance with Chinese as with stuff like Italian or Mexican food. In that light, I give Empire Wok 5 stars. Because it's on the + side of my arbitrary +-10% scale, it's a great value with a decent price for a lot of food, the place is clean, location is good, and the staff is nice. Is it twice as good as your average Chinese take-out? No, but it's better enough that it's worth a try. read more

Ordered delivery for the office. Arrived promptly and food was still piping hot. I am giving them a 4 star rating because the service was great and they give you a ton of food. We all ordered their lunch specials that were all under $6. They probably weighed like 5 lbs because it was packed! The Chinese food is a typical Chinese American takeout so dont expect too much. Tonight for Dinner I decided that I wanted reasonably priced decent Chinese food.  I decided to go back to Empire Wok in Draper Utah. I ordered the Hot and Spicy Shrimp Dinner to go. The dinner consisted of Hot and Spicy Shrimp, Ham fried rice and 2 veggie egg rolls. I will start with the egg rolls.  The egg rolls were cooked perfectly and had really good flavor.  I thoroughly enjoyed the egg rolls. Next the fried rice. The fried rice was cooked to perfection and had a decent amount of ham and vegies.  The rice along with the ham and veggies had an awesome flavor. The portion size of the fried rice was more than adequate in fact I could not finish it all. Finally the Hot and Spicy Shrimp.  This also was cooked to perfection and it was a nice combination of vegtables with shrimp and sauce.  The flavor of the vegtables combined very well with the shrimp.  The sauce had a nice slightly sweet flavor with a bit of a spicy kick but it was not too spicy.  The portion size was more than adequate and as with the fried rice I could not finish it all. I really enjoyed the Hot and Spicy Shrimp. As far as value for the money I consider this meal an amazing value for the money I got full and have enough left over for a second meal.   I highly recommend Empire Wok and the Hot and Spicy Shrimp Dinner.  I will definitely be going back to try additional items on the menu. read more

I've always been very pleased with the fast service and friendly staff! I'd say the quality of food is by far the best I've had at any Chinese place in Utah no lie!!! We always get the family "C" meal and they allow me to substitute the main course. since my kids like the orange chicken and I like the general sao. We love the minimal breading on the chicken and how juicy it is.. We also have ordered the beef and broccoli Chicken lo mein Cream cheese wontons All were great! we used to go to other places in Sandy , Draper area and I haven't been very pleased.With any of them but this place has been our family favorite. Ahh it begins, my first time at empire wok the atmosphere is somewhat plain and sparse however the staff are friendly and helpful. The food quality though was less than tolerable the only thing that i actually enjoyed was the included spring roll, As for the main course I ordered the orange chicken dinner combo somthing i found interesting is you don't get a drink included in the combo price you have to pay an extra dollar for a soda. The combo includes ham fried rice i ate about 4 bites of it. it just really wasn't that great it was somewhat bland and unseasoned, as for the chicken. The sauce that is was pathetically drowned in really lacked flavor and was just unappealing the breading on the chicken was ok but overall i probably wouldn't go back there again. read more

For a Chinese restaurant this is my favorite. It beats out Panda Express any day for me. The portions are generous, the prices are cheap and the food is amazing. Best I've had in a long time and there are so many more options to choose from than most places. The convenience of being able to get delivery for me is great. There are no restaurants around my work area and they are one of the only places that will delivery for us in speedy time. Wish there was a place near my house as well. I'd order from here more if so. My only complaint would be the lady over the phone didn't speak English and couldn't answer my questions, but I'm not one to deduct points for that. She was still nice and tried her best. Note: If you read these reviews, my only feedback is that you add descriptions to your menu. It's okay. Not the best. My husband wanted teriyaki chicken but they didn't have any so we got orange chicken and it didn't seem right & we barley got any. The fried rice has ham in it. I'm not a big ham fan so I just picked it out. It was kind of strange to me I have never had fried rice with ham. The beef & broccoli was pretty food. The guy was nice he was about to close but he let us stay a little longer so we can eat as he cleaned up. We usually get pretty good food from this place, but not so pleased the other night. We're hoping the cook was just having a bad night (July24th). We got the House Special Noodles with shrimp, pork and chicken, but it was mostly noodles. I counted 2 shrimp and there really wasn't much other meat; and this dish apparently does not come with vegetables. We usually get the Beef and Broccoli, which is really good with lots of meat and broccoli! The prices seem really fair with the amount of food you get. For hole-in-the-wall Chinese this place is pretty good. Compares with similar street corner spots in New York City where I used to live. And a great deal, most combos (entree, fried rice, egg roll) for about 8 bucks and it's a ton of food. Our go to is orange chicken and hunan beef with lo mein. This one sports an overly ambitiously large dining are and a white girl cashier with a stick up her butt... she seriously was a really, really bad experience ugh (paying $50+ you expect someone to at least be polite and cordial).
