Don't go here if you have young children! I've been going here for years and starting going again with my young child. After our meal, We were playing with the toy machines in the lobby area and the owner comes out and says we are being "too loud." Instead of telling the customer that complained that they aren't entitled to a child free or sound free world, let's tell a kid that's playing with the machines they are too loud. We won't be back here. Won't have to worry about us spending our money on food or the toy machines. Should remove them if you can't stand the kids being kids read more

I tried Empire Buffet only briefly, since my client was ready to return home, actually before her appt actually started. Needless to say, this was not planned. I only had about 8 minutes to quickly consume a plate of food before I had to leave. Everything I tried was delicious. Included was baked crab, beef with peppers, a pork egg roll and some noodles. They offer a wide array of dishes, 3 tables worth ,and I would have liked to have tried more. Everything I tried was excellent and servers were polite and attentive. Ambiance was nice enough. Chinese buffets are always hit or miss, and even more so since Covid. I've gone here a number of times over the years more so with my uncle because he enjoys it. This buffet is well-maintained, the food is fresh, and the price is good. If you're in the mood, you won't be disappointed. read more

Good food, nice staff and clean place. I like the many options this "American style Buffett," offers. I dine in sometimes but mostly do the takeout. It's a cozy place and I enjoy eating there. The only thing I don't like is how much the staff watches you. They don't like it if you grab more than two plates of food. I understand they are just trying to keep things under control, but it is off putting to be watched so much while you are grabbing your food. Don't bother going here. The food tasted like it was cooked days before. Dry and tough and horrible flavor. I won't be going back.

No matter the time of day. This place is worth the trip for the price. It'll fill you up and it's pretty good.They do stare at you like someone else said before on here. Oh my what an experience; first ever! I've heard nice things about this buffet and was pretty excited to try. A friend of mine went both had buffets. Because I'm not a big eater at one time I asked to get the buffet in a to go box, at 6.99 lb. Cost was a little over 11.00. I was not allowed to eat it with my friend??? I had to sit and watch my friend eat while I looked at my to go box. Even other customers complained when they overheard. What is the big deal if I eat from the box or plate; the way staff watches you, it's not like you could refill box. So disappointed. I didn't even get soup or dessert. I had to ask for a fortune cookie. I will probably never visit again unless I order from menu. I was not impressed with the taste other than ribs were pretty good. read more

Even though I run alot, I decided I would like to discover more buffets. Conveniently, Empire was near a race I attended. I love how clean it was and staff was very nice and quick. There's not alot of options for most people, but for what they have, I'm happy. My go to is always fried rice an general's chicken (total bummer if they didn't have it). Then I mix and match until I get full. They do have sushi, but there's no visible sushi chef constantly making it. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area again. read more

Not sure why the low star level, perhaps they were all expecting authentic regional Chinese cuisine rather than Chinese American or in this case American Chinese. We popped into this place several months ago for a quick bite while traveling and found ourselves impressed by the quality, diversity, constant oversite, cleanliness and buffet replenishment. Since that first visit we've been back 3 or 4 times and their consistency is remarkable and commendable. I will also add their Hot and Sour Soup is one of the best, better than most dedicated Szechaun restaurants. I get it, Chinese buffets get a bad rap most deserve it, just not this one. They have many stellar dishes to chose from which are executed beautifully, not only do they present well they are way above the average in freshness, taste and quality. Giv'm a try; see for yourself; I trust you'll see a stark difference between this buffet and others. Mrs. B would be horrified if she knew I had stopped here for dinner last night. She had a less then stellar visit here years ago before we met and refused to go back. Needless to say, I snuck in here yesterday with my little one for an early dinner. I was unsure how good the buffet would be at 4:30, but my daughter insisted (yes, we know who's really in charge), so against my better judgment, I stopped in. We were the only patrons when we arrived, which meant we had the pick of where to sit in the immaculately clean dining room. The staff was incredibly nice throughout our visit. Plates were removed as we finished, soda glasses did not remain empty for long. This didn't change, even as the dining room filled in throughout our visit. The food was actually very good ad surprisingly fresh tasting. Though not the largest buffet, the were certainly plenty of choices. The only reason I don't go beyond three stars is the price dinner was $10.59, I'm not sure how different lunch buffet is, but it's only $6.95. Took a menu with me on the way out, and prices for take out seem very reasonable. Too bad they don't deliver. I plan on returning for lunch and probably will start using them for take out in the future. read more

This is one of those "grand buffet" types of places where there is a lot of fast Chinese food sitting in tables. It is the ideal place to bring the high school swim team or any group of people who have not eaten in days. For some reason, I keep thinking that it is perfect for hungry teenage boys. Don't come for the quality. Most of the food was poor. I could not even eat the chicken wings. How do you ruin chicken wings? This is a really good buffet for small gatherings or one on one dates. The price is right as well, a friend of mine and myself went and only paid $20. Not SUPER busy but not dead either. I came here with a large party of 25. I was very satisfied with the food and service. The food was always hot and trays were always filled quickly. It's a nice place to spend a family evening together, and prices are great for an all-you-can-eat buffet. P.S. Can't believe someone found the bathroom dirty. I have come several times, and found it always clean. I have only seen it wet on a rainy or muggy day, when people track it in. And also when some parents let their children go to the bathroom by themselves, the children sometimes throw paper towels on the floor and not in the garbage. read more

I went there a few times and the staff was kind, and although some didn't understand English, they tried to help us in the best way they could. I'd recommend going there during lunch hours as it's cheaper and the takeout is a bit pricey. The food was good and done well. They also change the foods somewhat frequently. Out of all the Chinese/ chinese buffet places in the area, my gf and I prefer this restaurant. I've been to quite a few Chinese restaurants in my life (outside Southbridge, I've been to Singapore in Fitchburg, chopsticks hibachi in Leominster), out of all of them, empire buffet is the most consistent with the food they offer. I like that that don't serve alcohol, personally I think this allows them to focus on what customers really need. I also love that they offer hard ice cream as opposed to soft serve or prepackaged cups of ice cream, in addition to ice cream they also have plenty of other desserts (the apple pie is amazing). I'm not really a sushi kinda guy, so I won't comment too much on it, but for someone who might want to try a couple rolls without paying a rediculous amount, they offer a few varieties. And in case the huge selection of heavy food is a bit much, they do have a small salad area (I usually try to have a plate of this in between bigger plates of rice, rangoons, steak etc..it's probably not really averting the other calories I'm consuming but it's great they have this available ). And the best part of the whole buffet experience here.... there are napkin dispensers at each table!! You don't need to wait for a server to bring you extras. Finally, I love the staff at this restaurant. Every single server, cashier, cook I've met has always been smiling and pleasant to talk to, the quality of food and service shows they have pride in what they do. I am a little upset that the construction at the bridge right near the restaurant blocks the entrance and makes it difficult to not only see the restaurant but also to get in and out, I hope the work gets finished soon. read more
