It was good! Took a little while to get the food but they're making it fresh. I hope they stay in business. This location seems cursed.

I stopped by the new Empanadas de Mendoza location in Reston, and while the space is definitely smaller than their other spots, it has that perfect grab-and-go vibe. There are only two small benches if you want to sit, but honestly, the food comes out so hot and fresh that it's the perfect quick stop. I tried the deep-fried empanadas, and they were deliciously hot, crispy, and super satisfying. They offer so many different fillings to choose from, which makes it fun to mix and match. Each order comes with three different sauces, and my absolute favorite is the chimichurri -- so good I almost wanted to buy a bottle. (Which you can, because they actually sell their chimichurri sauce along with other sweet treats!) Small space, big flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving something quick, hot, and seriously tasty. Service was great. Everything came out in less than 5 mins. read more

I am so excited that Empanadas de Mendoza opened in Reston!! I used to drive to Tysons Galleria mall just to get their deep fried empanadas!! It's crispy and flavorful inside!! (Note: if you don't like deep fried in oil, they have baked empanadas as well). Our favorite has always been their spicy beef and then traditional beef. We also get their spinach empanadas and corn empanadas. Corn empanadas is sweet and savory, if you love sweet corn tamale you might like this one. Spicy beef is not spicy but has a light very light kick to it and very flavorful, not spicy at all. Traditional beef is also flavorful but more mild seasonings and has olives and boiled eggs in them. We have tried every flavor they have for the empanadas and I am excited to try other items on their menu that they did not have when they were located in Tysons. Inside the shop is small but very clean and welcoming. No sit down tables or seatings. It is just for carry out. Service is super friendly and helpful!! I recommend Empanadas De Mendoza! read more

My husband and I decided to check out Empanadas de Mendoza during their Grand Opening event for their new Reston location. We couldn't pass up the free empanada and churro they were giving out to the first 100 customers haha. My husband chose the Traditional Beef Empanada and I chose the Pineapple Chicken Empanada. We both agreed that we liked the flavor of the Pineapple Chicken more. The filling was more flavorful and juicy compared to the Traditional Beef and we were not expecting olives in the Traditional Beef. The empanadas overall were ok but they might taste better when they're freshly made and not during a busy time like their grand opening. I liked the chimichurri sauce and aoli that came with the empanadas. I felt the same regarding the churro. It was a bit dense but could taste better when it's fresh. I really liked the dulce de leche that came with the churro. The milky caramel flavor was subtle and not too sweet. We also decided to separately order The Classic Pizza (without ham) because we wanted to try an Argentinian-style pizza. I liked the flavor of the pickled red bell peppers but didn't like the consistency of the pizza dough or the flavor of the marinara sauce. I wish the dough was fluffier and had a crispier exterior with more color. The marinara sauce was too acidic for my preference. I could only eat one slice of the pizza. Would I go back? : Perhaps. My rating was mainly based on the pizza because I didn't think it would be fair to include the free items in my rating. Because they're mainly known for their empanadas, they could taste a lot better if I were to order them normally and try different fillings. The sandwiches also look like they could be good. I also think it's neat that the beef and chicken in their empanadas are halal. Because the menu at this Reston location is an expanded version of their original menu, I would confirm with the location if the beef in their sandwiches are also halal. read more

Back again and the empanados here are great! We ordered the traditional beef, pork and the apple dessert one. Each of these three types tasted wonderful. Only word of caution: one beef and one apple and I was full and stayed that way for hours. read more

Overall a really nice addition in North Pointe and glad for the food variety/diversity! We got the 4 empanadas for $20. They were all good and I liked the flavors and their sauce. The olive was unexpected in the beef and could do without. My favorite was the bbq one. The price point is a bit steep when you realize it's $5 for each and 2 each for two people was not filling, more like a very tasty appetizer. I will plan to come back soon when we get another empanada craving. read more

I made a HUGE mistake choosing this restaurant! The empanadas were just okay. However, the service was horrible! I arrived 9 minutes early to pick up an order of 5 dozen empanadas for a graduation party starting in an hour, was told the empanadas weren't ready because the ovens weren't working, and to return in 25 minutes. The owner was rude, arrogant, and combative as if I caused the problem! Given issues with their ovens, it would have been great for management to call and let me know. I would have instructed them to fry the empanadas instead! I returned 25 minutes later and the empanadas were just coming out of the oven. Any descent restaurant owner who values customers would apologize for their appliance problems, the inconvenience it caused customers, and the built-in over the top undeserving tip given the circumstances, but the owner decided to call me during the graduation party to argue keeping the money instead! Empanadas De Mendoza doesn't deserve 1 star. We will NEVER return again! read more

Not the best empanadas I've had they were okay definitely a 3/5. For the price I paid I was expecting way better. I purchased 4 baked empanadas for $20 bucks, I was surprised at how small they were. I got the (traditional beef, caprese, spinach ricotta (burnt) and spicy beef) overall I only liked the spicy beef empanada. Service was good there wasn't a long line but would recommend you order for pick up. I would try them again but I'm a little disappointed at the size to cost ratio. Try their new carry out outpost near my house. I got the 2 baked empanadas with side. I got the spicy beef and spicy chorizo. Both were pretty good. My beef with them is their sauce and fries. Their Chimi fries is just their Chimi sauce dumped on top of the regular fries. Both version are not good. Maybe a different kind of fries would change the outcome. Their sauce with the empanadas are one regular Chimi and looks like a spicy Aioli. Any other kind and you have to pay. I have not tried other selection on their menu. Recently stopped by and was surprised to find them open. Tried six different empanadas - three baked, three fried. Spicy beef, traditional beef, chicken, BBQ and spinach/cheese. I really liked them all. Our least favorite was the BBQ but only because it was a tiny bit sweet. They were hot and fresh, made to order. It did take some time but the staff were very friendly and communicated the status as we waited. We also tried their fruit lemonade which was a nice surprise. The shop was bright, clean and made me hungry. Downside is its size, it's a small pick up only shop. Definitely will be back to support this business. read more

The baked fugazza and cheese empanadas are little golden sunshines of delight! The bake on them is perfect--varying shades of gold and brown on the outside and fresh cheese on the inside. And the fries!!! Total perfection! Crispy on the outside and pillowy perfect on the inside. I will be returning to try more items on their menu! I love this place! read more
