A plate of Mexican cuisine featuring two tacos with meat and vegetables, rice, beans, and a lime, with a side of salad. In the background, a plate of fried fish with a dipping sauce.

Oh my goodness!! I'm so happy I decided to stop here and grab a bite to eat. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is great! Every bite I took, I couldn't believe how good it was. Will definitely be back! Especially for the Birria eggrolls! The service is great as well and pricing is good for what you get!

Food was good, will not return to a Latin/Mexican restaurant that does not give complimentary chips and salsa

My husband had the cuban plate and said it was the best beans and rice he had in a long time.

I had such a wonderful experience at Que Rico Cuban Cafe. From the moment I walked in, the…read morehospitality stood out--he was genuinely kind, welcoming, and even invited me to their salsa night on May 9th, which I thought was such a fun and personal touch. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the veggie shrimp coconut curry, and it was full of flavor--rich, comforting, and beautifully prepared. And the Cuban Mule? So good. The twist with rum instead of the usual vodka gives it this smooth, slightly deeper flavor that just works perfectly. Everything about this visit felt warm and enjoyable--the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you'll come back. Highly recommend.

It's time to spice up things in 2026! If you're ready to expand your taste buds and try Latin…read moreflavors, then look no further than Que Rico Cuban Cafe! The vibe, ambiance, friendly & stellar service, and top notch food are muy excelente!!! First off, you must order the CAFE CON LECHE (coffee w/ milk)! The strong Cuban espresso will definitely caffeinate your world and you might even ask for a second cup to go! I might be a little biased, but it is the BEST cafe con leche that I've ever had on the Northshore. The cafe con tres leches is another good choice as well. You can enjoy and savor every sip of their coffees any time of year! Next, you must try the Havana Sampler (tostones- fried plantains, maduros- fried, caramelized sweet plantains, croquetas, fried yuca) with fried pork chunks. Yes, I know - everything FRIED makes the world go round! We have only one life to live so you might as well enjoy all the yummy foods from this diverse world of ours! Remember to dip everything in the homemade mojo sauce (it has a strong garlic flavor)! The Cuban sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches and is a great lunch option. When I want to splurge, I have to get the special oxtail soup. The oxtail is fall-off-the-bone tender and full of flavor. The chef is very creative and offers special dishes throughout the month. Anytime is a good time for cocktails here! I have enjoyed many of their specialty mojitos - the mango and watermelon were both so refreshing to enjoy on a sunny day. They even have a mojito flight if you can't decide on one flavor. I also enjoyed the caipirinha (Brazilian national cocktail), which surely packs a punch (but in a good way!). Que Rico is a spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant and is the perfect place for a small or even larger group! On certain nights, they even have salsa dancing, which provides for a fun and more lively evening! Make plans to visit Que Rico for coffee, drinks, or enjoy a meal with family and friends ...it will be a fabulous fiesta FUN-day !!!

A Latin style tapas place in the arts district boasting flavors from South America (Argentina,…read morePeru, Venezuela, Yucatan), Mexico (Oaxaca and Mexico City), and the Caribbean. Fresh seafood from the Gulf of MEXICO and a wicked drink menu. They offer several ceviches. Tapas include guacamole, empanadas, crawfish queso, fish dip and veggie salads like crispy cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. We had the crispy cauliflower served with tempura, cashew habanero crema, garbanzo hash, and chimichurri. Loads of flavor and just the right bite size for tapas/apps. Plates include churrasco, fish and grits, paella (can be served veggie or without shellfish if you're allergic), lamb, Yucatan style pork, shrimp or steak mofongo, and chicken poblano. I had the churrasco, served with papas bravas. Steak cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the steak mofongo and the beef tips, like the churrasco, were seasoned perfectly. The plantain mash was sweet and somehow savory at the same time. We loved both dishes. They make mean margaritas and caipirinhas hre, and also offer drinks like the paloma, the Bolivian sour, sangria, and specialty drinks. Service was amazing. She was so upbeat and helpful. This restaurant was a little slow when we went. It deserves a lot more love. It's so close to the touristy part of the French Quarter. Leave the gimmicky spots and come here, you won't regret it.

The meat is also very tender. Service was good. Waitress was nice and welcoming.
