I went there with my girlfriend for lunch yesterday I had a sopa de res and she had a plate that on the menu was promoting beef, chorizo and chicken with some sides the plate is 20$, ones she got her plate it was missing the chicken, that's when you think (oh is just a misunderstanding) well no it wasn't apparently on the menu it shows something but when they bring it to you is a different thing and apparently they can't do anything about it, when I was paying I asked again and she said "oh that's how we always served it" never apologized never even considered doing something for the mistake, I don't recommend and I think is way too over prices. read more

Perfect pre-flight meal. The Honduran breakfast was excellent; platanos and crema never miss. A taste, diverse plate that left me neither hungry nor too full. We were that morning's first customers, and I'm not sure I've ever eaten tortillas that fresh north of the border. But the real value was the baleadas. They're not messing around - it was a meal in of itself. Good, wholesome ingredients. Mi Pueblito is the best Honduran restaurant I have ever been to. I had the Supra Burrito which was HUGE with carne asada, refried beans, eggs, avocado on a enormous, pillow like homemade tortilla. My friend had the Plantano Maduro Rellano which had a wonderful complexity of many flavors that orchestrated a harmonious dish. The fresh pineapple juice is quite refreshing. As well as a remarkable Tres Leche cake. The staff is attentive and provides excellent service. I wish they served alcohol to compliment their dishes. read more

Baleada Especial! That's all I have to say. It's all I want to say. It was so good. Maybe not very good for health, but my taste buds were dancing. I actually got two: one to eat that night, and the other to save for the morning. Needless to say after eating two in less than 12 hours gave me the feeling of shame, but my taste buds allowed me to wear that shame with pride. I think I'm experiencing withdrawal as I write this. *scratches neck*. I need some more. On another note: the horchata was chalky. The establishment was very clean and the nice lady at the counter was very friendly. Most authentic Latino restaurants usually aren't that aesthetically pleasing on the inside. This place was well kept. Considering this place is close to the airport, I'll be giving lot more rides to friends that need to catch a flight. I gotta have some reason to come back. read more

I went here over the weekend, a waitress came out and asked if we needed something (in Spanish). I responded in English bc my Spanish isn't 100% ...can we sit anywhere? She just walked away without saying just gave a dirty look. So we sat down. Drinks took about 20 mins to come out. Two people sat down got attended and got three plates of food while we were still waiting on ours and they got there 30 mins after us! The same waitress that ignored us was bringing out the food and walked passed us looking for who the plates she was holding belonged to. Mind you, they only had three tables with customers. We said hellooo right here and another waitress said that's for the Americans and pointed. We were literally right in front of her and she acted as she did not see us AT ALL! I've never experienced that. Regardless if your customers speak Spanish or not, you should treat them the same, really be more welcoming, more considerate of what you say (maybe say those plates are for the only table without food) and don't walk away when someone ask you something. We thought she was incredibly rude and that alone gave it a bad ambiance. Our waitress that took our order was very kind and the food was great, but not great enough to go back. Very flavorful Honduran cuisine. The food is very clean in that it's not greasy nor has too much fat. Unexpected favorites were the pigs foot (trotters) and yucca a little messy to eat but delicious. The 'tostadas' are tasty and everything is so homemade and good. The ambiance is very cheerful and the place is spotless! The service could be a little friendlier and it would be great if they served beer or sangria (or allowed bring-your-own) as the food really calls for it. BE FOREWARNED: Don't complain about the food. I have been here several times and have never had a place treat me so rudely. after a bite I explained my soup was too greasy ( obviously from being too old or sitting too long). i was told there was nothing they could do. I explained I was not eating it and needed to speak to the manager. the food was taken and was given a chance to order something else. my lunch partner also complained after one bite that her food was inedible. The waitress refused to take food and returned from the back saying we either paid for it or could leave. we left. i try to support small business but that is no way to treat a customer because they don't like your food. read more

Went back for lunch this week since I couldn't stop thinking about it. My wife and I ordered different items this time. I had what has to be the best pork chop I've ever had the pleasure of eating. My wife ordered the marinated, sauteed steak this time(as opposed to Char grilled I ordered last week). It was nothing short of amazing. I'm not sure which I liked better. Their beans and rice are very good. Fresh veggie salad, the cucumbers are the star of this salad. Fresh home made tortillas are phenomenal, both corn and flower. Staff is very attentive and prompt. If you are looking for excellent quality, authentic central american food (NOT MEXICAN FOOD) go here! Every thing is fresh and fully of life. The Zacatuste is great for dinner, where as the enchilada/tostada is a fantastic lunch. The taquitos are the best I've ever had and retain a delightfully crispy texture even with the sauce its topped with. I eat here weekly if possible. The place is very clean and has a great atmosphere, from the beautiful flowers in the bed out front to the interior tile work. It is only one block off of Williams and pretty easy to find. Additional parking is available in back, but the alley is a bit tight. NOTE: If you are looking for TexMex, tacos, chips and salsa, queso, or fajitas this is not what you are looking for. Love this hole in the wall. Consistency is a golden rule here. I have never had a disappointing meal or service. Portions are large, prices are small, everything is immaculately clean. The food lends itself to be shared. I would encourage you to go with friends, order a variety of stuff and have a little bit of everything. I found this place only with the help of GPS -- definitely off the beaten path. It feels like a residential area, but there are plenty of businesses on Florida. It is small, charming, completely rennovated, clean, nicely painted and decorated, The restroom was the cleanest public restroom I've seen in ages. The server was very nice, attentive and helpful, but between it being her first day on the job and a large language barrier between us, it took a bit of effort for successful communication. For example, I thought I ordered tortilla chips with pico de gallo -- I got fresh, hot homemade corn tortillas with pico. It was then that I learned that they don't serve tortilla chips. Okay, no biggie. The pico was delicious -- on pieces of a corn tortilla. :) This is not a typical Mexican or Tex Mex place. A lot on the menu that I am not used to seeing at Mexican restaurants -- a common ingredient in many of their dishes is plantain. Based upon G.E. and David D.'s reviews here, we had the pork chop and also ordered the carne asada. Both plates came with something like a salad (not sure if it was finely shredded cabbage or lettuce [didn't eat that part] -- with two slices of perfectly fresh English cucumbers and almost an entire beautifully ripe tomato sliced in a decorative swirl on top), a little pico de gallo, yummy non-sticky white rice, a side of whole beans (no refried), and a very nice large homemade flour tortilla. The pork chop also came with a few grilled sweet onions. We ordered a side of grated or shredded cheese and got three thick squares of cheese. I didn't mind, it was just different -- still tasted like cheese! :) The pork chop and carne asada were, indeed, delicious. Because so much of what I ate was fresh, homemade, etc., it didn't feel like a typical Mexican restaurant fat food pigout. Prices were fair -- with tax and tip, we spent under $40 for two adults. The only two negatives about the whole experience were that it was freezing cold -- bring a sweater! -- and that the music was way too loud for such a small space. read more

This place is great. Really delicious food, friendly & attentive service, and ultra clean. I had the pork chop with sweet plantains, salad, beans, and rice. Everything was great including the salad which was shredded cabbage, cucumbers, and giant ripe tomatoes with dressing rather than plain iceberg lettuce and tomatoes. The smallest issue was that some of the sweet plantains weren't totally ripe when cooked so were a little dried out. My friend had the stuffed plantain which is gigantic and either a meal for one or an appetizer for two. It was really good. read more

My very first review and I'm glad to report that this place is GREAT! Brought my family (suggested by a friend of mine) and we didn't expect much, but let me tell you that the whole experience was outstanding. I must have been under a rock somewhere because this place has been opened for 5-6 years, from talking to the waitress, and I'm just happy that this will be a regular place for me from now on. On to the food! I had the pork chop and it was delicious. The plate was humongous! My wife had the soup of the day and she couldn't had been happier with her choice and believe me they are very generous with the portion. My kids had the taquitos and they loved them. What more can a man ask for?! Good food, family, and nice service! Oh, and don't let me forget about the drinks. My kids, of course had cokes, but my wife and I had their homemade orchata and pineapple drinks. WOW! If you love Latin American food like I do, then this is a place for you to try.
