I've been looking for Birria Taco, Pizza, Noodles! And it's all here ! Food is fast and flavorful I stuffed myself ordering all I could gotta go back for round 2. Service is very nice and patient answering all our questions. The ambiance is homely and alive super cute place. Me and my fiancé will be back to try everything we didn't get a chance to !!

Had the pleasure of visiting this quaint small corner restaurant while on the Northshore. The owners were soo personable. They asked me about my family, what brought me to their restaurant, checked on us often at the table, and wished us safety traveling back home to the Southshore. The kids and I enjoyed our food. I really wanted to try Burris tacos and ramen and that spicy corn. OMG so good. Authentic Mexican food NOT that Taco Bell stuff LOL can't wait to come back

I have been wanting to try Birria Tacos for a while and was worried they would not be up to the TikTok hype. BOY WAS I WRONG I ordered some Birria Tacos from Dons and I am beyond impressed! They were so juicy, cheesy, crunchy and soft. Just the best tacos I've ever had and the only ones I ever want to eat again.

Simple, fresh, and no-frills menu that satisfies taco purists. These are legit "homemade" tacos. The type you'd eat at someone's house in Mexico. Not Tex-Mex. highly recommend the Barbacoa, the grilled fish, and steak tacos! The guac is fresh and made to order.

I totally understand that true, authentic Mexican food isn't going to be the same as your familiar round-the-block TexMex place, but this experience fell far from the hype. I should mention that being a NOLA & Red Stick transplant means the bar for an authentic taqueria is very high, but I just can't find anything positive to say about Don Taco. I was bummed to see that they did not have any homemade sauces on the tables in the dining room, which (to me) has always been a standard in any hole-in-the-wall taqueria. The chorizo / queso appetizer gave me flashbacks to the nachos served at sports arena concession stands - complete with the palate-burning flavor of gov'ment cheese, only with a much more watery consistency. Good luck getting their queso to stay on any chip. The chips were overdone and greasy, meaning that the overwhelming aroma of burned theater popcorn was all I could taste in comparison to their pasteurized-cheese-byproduct-water-sauce. I paid $10.99 for 3 anemic tacos that left me begging for any semblance of flavor or moisture. One taco consisted of 2 tiny chopped shrimp, another taco was a few flakes of what I can only assume is great value tilapia, with the last taco claiming to be their signature "signature" steak... and sure, if you enjoy chewing flavorless leather, have at it! My partner ordered the stuffed poblano (not sure if there's a specific reason they didn't call it a chili relleno?) and while we were first impressed with the size of the poblano pepper, we quickly realized it only appeared to be that size because the core and seeds were still intact. The only reason I left without my stomach growling was because I polished off the beans and rice - doused with a good bit of picante sauce - from both of our plates. I am genuinely hoping that this experience was the result of an off day, as I am normally a huge advocate for any family-owned eateries. $30 and 3 hours later, my stomach and my palate are still begging me for sustenance. If it were ever suggested I try this place again, I would begrudgingly oblige, but not without a fight.

The service was amazing and the waitress was really nice and attentive. She checked in with us several times while we were eating to make sure we did not need for anything. The food was delicious and the birria taco were so die for, especially with the sauce that came with it. I also like the decoration and Mexican ambiance that was around the restaurant and I really enjoyed the experience that I had. Definitely will go again!

If you're looking for street tacos, this is the place! I've heard good things so we stopped in for lunch on a Monday. Service was fast and friendly. We had a few different tacos and enjoyed them all, especially the chorizo and veggie. Two spicy sauces are provided. They definitely had some heat. Tacos are $3 a piece but are very fresh and packed with toppings. I would definitely return for more. The restaurant itself is cozy, clean, and cheery. Orders are placed at a counter and brought out to your table.

Street Tacos!!! This is a hidden gem in Covington! It's very small but brightly decorated and the staff is friendly. Wide array of lunch items, mostly tacos and the drinks are sold separately there are no fountain drinks. The meals do not come with chips and salsa $4.99 but we ordered them anyway, they were good but not your typical salsa, it was bright orange and warm but still tasty. Average meals are $8.50 and came with rice and beans but my order came with a beef broth with onions, and my tacos came with radish and pickled red onions on the side, it was very tasty. If you like street tacos and want something quick come here!

Super cute restaurant, offering takeout orders from their kitchen window during quarantine! Friendly staff, and good prices! As everyone has already said super authentic, and beyond wonderfully fresh food. Burrito comes with white rice and beans(soo good), lettuce, cilantro, and can opt for grilled or raw onions. Pastor had lots of flavor, and combined with red hot sauce that came with the burrito was absolutely killer. Can't wait to see what else this little taco shop has in store:)

One of my top favorite restaurants in Louisiana when it comes to tacos . Service is quick and friendly, and plenty of space for seating.

Okay, this is my fifth visit here in five months so it's safe to say I'm either a glutton for…read morepunishment or that this place is great. Fortunately, it's the later, by a wide margin. Why you ask? Simple, it's great. My reasons: 1) Every time we've been here the service has been great. Not good, great. We've taken the time to meet/talk to the serving staff and they all have been friendly, attentive, and really good at their jobs. We have also met the owners and they too are lovely people. 2) The setting, given that's it's in a small strip mall is great. They have a large patio, plenty of umbrellas as booths, and multiple water features including a water wall. Inside the restaurant is equally beautiful. This is not Chi-Chis or some place trying to faux up the setting. 3) The food is great. If you are looking for typical Americanized Mexican, Spanish, South American food, this is not your place. If you are instead looking for great food that is more interesting, this is the place. For example, tonight we had a chicharron that looked liked two of biggest fried slices of hog heaven you could hope for. It was amazing! We also had the chimichurri sauce which was slightly different from what we have had in the past but it too was awesome! We even asked for some to go to which they said of course. 3) The portion size of most of what we've had over the five visits have almost always fit the price while things such as the steak fajitas were on the generous side for 2026. Bonus, big bonus- They are very dog friendly so your four legged and well behaved dogs are more than welcome in their spacious outdoor patio. And since the tables (not the booths) are not tightly together it's a good place even for the truly big dogs! That about covers it. So bring your fur baby, have a drink (they have some nice concoctions ) and enjoy a restaurant that recreates so many things from one of the owner's youth. And if you can sit outside, you will enjoy it even more! As always, apologies for my usually long and hopefully epic review. Cheers and happy dining all!

Somebody is really cooking in this kitchen, you can taste the slow food, deep stocks paring with bright garnishes. Im delighted this place is in my neighborhood! The interior is super cool too, and the have outside dining. Music is Carlos Santana instrumental. Prices are average, an excellent value for the experience. My new favorite Mexican place.
