Meet family for a bite at El Rancho Mexican Grill in Mandeville and had a good time on two-for-one Margarita night. El Rancho is a nice place with traditional Tex-Mex ambiance and features a huge menu with all the expected favorites. Service was good and we enjoyed an array of specialties, including taco, burritos, fajitas and more. read more

El Rancho Mexican Grill - Dessert menu! Apple pie and ice cream with cool whip! - Mexican Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

We stopped in one evening and it was a great decision. My husband always says the best Mexican restaurants look like a Spanish toy box and he was spot on about this place. The spicy top shelf margarita was delicious and my husband liked the 2 for 1 house margaritas. For dinner we ordered a beef chimichanga, fajita chicken taco salad, and the boys had the kids chicken and beef nachos. Everything was perfect and exactly what we were craving. We will definitely be back soon! read more

Usually pretty consistent quality. Always have a daily special, and 2 for 1 drink specials. read more

We moved from Birmingham and have been searching to find our 'Mexican restaurant'. We always end up here. My only complaint is the distance from my house. We have tried FIVE different place closer to home, but El Rancho has proven again and again that they are worth the drive. The service is always impeccable, the food is amazing, and it feels like home. We showed up late after waiting at another restaurant for 45 min. We were immediately seated, felt welcomed, and the food was AMAZING! Thank you, El Rancho, for another amazing f dinner!! read more

Favorite Mexican food on the northshore. The chile rellenos topped with queso are delicious. And their soft tacos are so simple but so so good. Love this place! read more

Big fan of the carne asada tacos, but I find the nachos and quesadilla's too salty (might be the queso?). The place is clean and service is good. read more

It has been a year since we were here. We don't live in the area. It is just as great as it was a year ago. Had the chile Colorados and my wife had the chilaquiles. Both were phenomenal! Before and after photos! read more

Went in for dinner last night and it appears they are now charging a surcharge to patrons who use a credit card. Wont be back.

Pictures speak a thousand words!! Even if you have bugs which I was told they do, why would you leave that sitting on the bar? Not a good look at all!! read more

El Rancho Mexican Grill - NEVER A GOOD LOOK - Mexican Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

Everything that I have eaten from their menu is over salted. I think that I will stop trying.

Had surcharge for paying with American Express. Wasn't informed of this. Food was average.

I don't typically post reviews, but we frequently visit El Rancho because it is easily the best Mexican restaurant on the North Shore. They have the best food, service, and pricing. Keep it up! read more

I have dined in or ordered take out many times and have never been disappointed. Even when you get take out, they give you an order of chips and salsa. My favorite are the chicken enchiladas but I've also had burritos, tamales and liked them all. read more

Ordered online. Got to restaurant, they did not have my order. They claimed I probably ordered at another place, because they don't do online orders. I insisted it was them and showed the address for the restaurant and the order. They checked their tablet and discovered the order and said that they just didn't hear the order come through. Eventually got my food and was told they were out of the drinks I ordered. They don't do refunds for online orders and offered me something else. I didn't really want it, but at $3.50 a drink x 3, I just went with the other drink option. They tried to give me 1 and I told them I ordered 3. Had to show them the order again to prove it. Which would normally be fine, but after how unapologetic they were about the whole experience, I just found it frustrating. Got home and discovered they had left out an entire meal. Just bad service all around. read more

my husband and I used to love this place. we would get a to go order every Friday night. last 3 times, they have gotten the order wrong. I let it go until the 3 rd time. I ordered taco shrimp dinner and an ala carete beef chimichanga. my chimichanga was a flour taco with just cheese with melted cheese sauce on top. called to speak to mgr and was very nice and explained my grieVance. she told me I ordered a beef burrito. I said no it is supposed to be a chimichanga. there's no beef in it and it's a taco. she said well you must have ordered an enchilada. no, it's a freakin taco with no beef! she said well we asked your husband to check the order and he did. she said she was not going to credit me. I was livid and hung up. will never spend my money there again. read more

It's been a while since I've visited this place. It has a nice environment to relax and grab a bite. Stopped by today just to grab a quick late lunch. I noticed they had the beef fajitas on special for 11.99 (Sunday special). So I decided to have that and a soft drink. Service was friendly. Food came out fast and tasted great. Total bill was around $20 including the tip. Excellent experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good place with delicious food that isn't overpriced. read more

I had the Chile Colorado and it was the absolute BEST Mexican I have had in a long time! It has kick with a flavor that can't be beat! Beware of their margaritas, WOW it was strong, really good, but strong! The staff were super friendly! P.S You must try the Tres Leches cake! It is beyond words read more

It was good they have good people working there the bathrooms are clean and they have really good food her highly recommended

Reading the Reviews on this place, not very good....I decided to come and give my own opinion. It was great from the moment we walked in the door the service was great. The food was different but really good, the chips & Salsa were great and the Margaritas were wonderful!! Visiting the sis n law, she said she'd be back, we all enjoyed this place, so don't listen to the Reviews here, take it for your own. Enjoy! read more

This place was terrible! The salsa is like tomato purée no flavor whatsoever. The rest of the food was typical pre made ingredients nothing homemade or authentic. Will not be going back. read more

Although I only got takeout and ate it in my car, I feel like I can give a pretty fair call, at least about the food. I ordered a burrito supreme with shredded chicken to go. The tastes were there, although the presentation of the burrito was pretty poor. It was completely out of tact, so I had to eat it with a fork..which I didn't mind. It didn't have the ingredients that I would expect in a burrito supreme, unless they were just lost in the mush. Again, it tasted fine...just didn't really look like the burrito I was expecting. Good price, so I'm not completely dissatisfied. The burrito with chips and salsa came out to like $7 or something, which is pretty decent. Not too keen on the salsa...a little weird tasting. Happy hour every day, and they're open til like 10pm, so that in itself is quite amazing for the Northshore. I would personally only order again if I was hungry at 9pm and everything else was shut down. read more

My lunch came to $14.95, which was ok. However, when you bring me change from my $20 and don't give me ones. Does that mean she expects me to leave a $5 tip on a $14 bill? read more

El Rancho Mexican Grill - Mexican Near Me - Mandeville, Louisiana

I've have regularly dined at this place for about 4-5 years now. This place has the best mexican food on the Northshore. However this isn't even the best part. After ordering the same drink/appetizers for years, Bernardo has caught on and brings us drinks when greeting us and then goes and gets the Carne con Queso and brings it out right after. Between the excellent food and service, I highly recommend you give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

Stopped into El Rancho as a friend and I were riding along the Tammany Trace. Amazing that more restaurants have not opened along the trace considering the amount of traffic on it daily. I was with a vegetarian which made the selection of places to go to very light. I ordered the special enchiladas that was very good. My friend on the other hand ordered the vegetarian plate. The veggie plate was filled with cheese items that my friend didn't like. Sometimes its hard being a vegetarian and it was for him on this day. I enjoyed my food, they have great guac, chips and salsa as well. read more

This place is consistently fast, friendly, and delicious each time I come. I've been here 5 plus times and I keep coming back although I don't live in the area. The prices are reasonable. The chairs and tables are really cool. They have scenic pictures on them. These are the kind of places I want to have my business! read more

I love these guys. Great food and good service and a great price. Chips and salsa is great.

I've come and ate in and this was a great place to eat (pre-CoVid). Just decided to order tonight. Everything was dry, overcooked, missing part of the order and some of the order (all vegetables) were raw. Last time there - they've lost a customer. I'll be dealing with El Paso in the future. read more

Horrible food. I found pubic hair in my food. The manager didn't even take it off my bill. Please repost this add as yelp in California feels it's offensive because it's Mexican food. I use to eat here almost every day. Yelp is located in California and does not believe people should express their feelings. They have the mentality of face book staff putting you in jail for your rite to express your opinions about bad service. Please re post. I had pubic hair in my food. Thanks to all who re post. read more
