Great latte - and personalized!

Amazing food and nice people! When the old Abita BBQ clased I was so saddened, but now the location has a wonderful Honduran restaurant that is fabulous.

Tiramisu served in the container where they bought it at the store. They should be embarrassed about this, and it actually tasted sour.

I read the other reviews and they talked me into coming to this place for lunch from now on. I won't pay any attention to the other reviews because this place was mediocre at best.

I passed by this place several times and finally decided to stop and check it out. l'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this was a Honduran restaurant. One of the menu options was a Honduran tamale, which I've never had, so naturally I had to order one. It was $4 for one tamale, and two tamales probably would've filled me up. $8 for a satisfying, unusual meal - unusual in the sense that not many places around here offer it - from a local mom & pop restaurant? That's a great deal! I'll definitely be returning.

La comida está riquísima, jamás había escuchado de este lugar. Pero estoy alegre que mi hermana lo encontró. El mejor desayuno que he comido en Mandeville. Me encantó todo.

Tacos

Stopped here in the way from Alabama to Baton Rouge and it did not disappoint. Absolutely amazing food and even better service!! 10/10 would recommend!!

Coffee!

Delish Delight! Tamales were so very good. Coffee wonderful. An unplanned quick stop at this cute little family cafe. Prompt, friendly, hospitable service. Honduran specialties. What a discovery! Yes...do go & enjoy. Very best wishes for continuing success.

Fried chicken and plantains.

So good! Heard about Acao cafe from a friend and I'm so glad my daughter and I tried it today. Everything was delicious and fresh! We'll be back soon!

Honduran tamale, homemade, excellent and cheap. Two tamales for a lunch less than $10

Latin breakfast and brunch as well as a coffee and bakery spot. Home made Honduran tamales so big that 2 make a meal. Very clean and friendly service. It's nice to have a new business in this location.

Huge Pork tamale

Everything was very flavorful, fresh and delicious. Honduran tamales, tacos and fajitas. Service was great. Will definitely be back to try more!

Baleada Supreme - Flour tortilla, with beans, eggs, cheese, cream, ground pork, and you can add jalapenos and pickled onions.

We have our favorites on both sides of the lake, but I recently read some great reviews somewhere online about Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen with locations in both Mandeville and Covington. After speaking with our friends we decided to dine at the Covington location of Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen. Inside the entrance, the restaurant posts their policy that you will not be seated at a table until all parties have arrived, which is understandable considering the huge amount of business they have. My wife and I arrived before our friends who were running a little late. The Hostess, Jill, asked me how many in our party and I told her four, but the other couple was running late and would be arriving in about 20 minutes. We took a seat in the empty waiting area inside the entrance. The restaurant appeared to have only one or two empty tables available inside when I arrived on a beautiful day. Five to ten minutes later the waiting area was full (approx. ten people). The restaurant was extremely noisy with all their customers enjoying their meals and conversing with friends/family. I noticed that there were approximately ten tables located in front of the restaurant in a beautiful covered patio, so I asked Jill if we could have a table outside once our friends arrived in about five more minutes because one of them was somewhat physically handicapped. There was only one empty table in the patio at the time. Jill explained that since she had a reservation in the patio for a party of eight that would be arriving soon, so she had been holding it for another available outside table to put together to accommodate this party. However, she said she would gladly give us the table. By this time, the waiting room was full of people and overflowing outside the entrance. I had given my seat to a lady and stepped outside to wait for my friends, who I noticed had arrived and parking their car. I told Jill and she seated us at the table in the patio. The four of us ordered different things on the menu, which were fantastic. Although the restaurant was packed, the waitress AND Jill visited our table several times to ensure we were enjoying our meals. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchens' ambiance, service, menu items (along with portion sizes) and prices were absolutely astounding. We were all very impressed and grateful for a beautiful dining experience. Special thanks to Jill who was abundantly pleasant to deal with. Crazy Pig Southern Kitchen certainly placed Jill in the right position.

She highly recommended the Blacken Shrimp and Grits. When my food came out, it was a large plate with plenty of shrimp. The food was amazing. I got my Southern/ Creole craving fulfilled. We gave ourselves an hour and a half, enough time to eat and get to our next planned and scheduled event that day. So, we weren't in a rush. We get in the quickly moving line to order our food at the counter. I order a salmon bagel and the hubs ordered a meatball ciabatta. We sit down and I noticed it is a very busy place. It is a very large place and I noticed how clean everything was and how efficient all the workers were at getting the food out. One after the other, food was coming out like an assembly line and the food looked good, too. But the assembly line apparently stopped, no orders were coming out, and we waited about 20 or 25 minutes. At least we had our drinks because it is a counter service type establishment. We noticed stacks and stacks of 'to go' orders were being placed in the counter area. After nearly 35 or 40 minutes we get our food. Some guy had ordered a 'football teams' worth amount of food. So, although it was not the restaurant's fault, it was frustrating the timing that our order was f course put in right after the guy that ordered 20 dishes. I get my bagel to try to eat quickly, since now we are in a little bit of a rush. And the bagel couldn't have been more complicated to eat. I just wanted a complete lox bagel but it was a deconstructed bagel where I had to put the thing together. I would have enjoyed the meal a little better had my bagel been properly served, like for example, the way Flour Moon serves their bagels to customers. I don't know if we will be back because I rarely visit the Northshore, this was a special occasion. I guess if I do come back, I would like to try one or two of the desserts from the case. Those looked really good.

The most concerning issue was that the waitress brought my child a cup of milk that was clearly spoiled. The milk had large curdled clumps, a watery separation, a thick and slimy texture, and a strong sour smell. I kindly asked her to take it back and did not even request a replacement. Her only response was being visibly annoyed and offended by me asking that. Bear in mind that this came after several other issues with this server. We waited about 10 minutes for silverware, during which time my child ate most of his meal with his hands and my food became cold. During all that time, she was waking past us bringing other people silverware and replenishing their drinks, and engaging in casual chat with customers. Three items we ordered were never brought out, and I had to ask for each one separately and repeatedly. When I asked about the French fries she never brought out, she gave me dismissive response that they were included in our meal, and then visually inspected our plates to confirm they were not there. She then brought out a plate of cold, dry fries and placed it on the table without saying a word. The entire experience felt surreal! If owners are reading this, we visited on Saturday, 1/10/26 and were seated in the booth area. I do want to note that the tall girl at the front desk was incredibly kind, and I truly appreciated her for how sweet she was. Our negative experience was solely related to the girl who served us.
