I was a walk-in and Emmy Nail was able to seat me right away. I asked for a gel-x set with design, I showed an inspo picture from Google (attached) and my nail tech Louis absolutely killed it! Surprised by all the negative reviews on Yelp but there are definitely more positive ones on Google. I had such a lovely experience at Emmy Nails! I saw their TikTok and saw how easily they were able to handle really hard nail designs and immediately wanted to come. I made an appt for 1130 for a hard gel fill. The entire service took about 2 hours and Nicole was very thorough with the process. I absolutely adore my nails and will definitely be coming back to Nicole for a fill. Just moved to the neighborhood. I am super picky and was very happy with my regular place - nevertheless I had to find a new place and I'm so happy I came into Emmy. The place is nothing fancy but they seem to know how to file and shape nails, which is my pet peeve.The staff was super kind, listened and communicated. The nail tech was very receptive to my instructions and knitpicking, although I did not have to say much. I even found a new go to barely there color. The only minus is that they only accept cash. Ice was so sweet and did an amazing job on my pedicure. But, the gentleman I went to for my nails was unprofessional and his workspace was so dirty! Old nail clippings everywhere and he didn't have the tools to take off my acrylics so he resorted to breaking them off piece by piece! I asked to soak and he filled an obviously dirty bowl with alcohol! I had to flee to the salon down the street to finish my nails, and they still charged me $15 for a soak off without executing it properly!! read more

race discrimination, and unfair treatment .. i've been coming to this nail salon for over a year now and have never experienced such a hurtful , offensive treatment . i came in for a full set an gel pedicure.. i waited about 10-15 min before getting seated for my pedicure. one of the male nail techs started my feet but he seemed inattentive as he kept looking at the front door. He started to remove the gel from my toes still looking at the front door hardy paying attention to my feet then he just got up and walked off whitout even saying anything even left the water running , which i had to tell another nail tech to turn off otherwise it would've overflowed. after sitting for about 6-7 mins i asked where did he go He go .the nail tech beside me stated she will finish my pedicure once she's done with the person in her chair . At this point i was completely confused , so i had to take my feet out of the water , dry them off to put my socks back on and walk up the stairs to question where my nail tech had went .. upon walking up the steps my Nail Tech was doing a white womens nails yes he was doing someone's nail while i was jus soaking in cool water for over 10 mins without any explanation, . I was extremely outraged at this point. and asked why did u stop mid pedicure no explanation and start this women's nails . at this point he looking at me as if i had 2 heads and came up with such a poor excuse . i told him i was here first and i have somewhere to be can he please finish my pedicure . he didn't move and continued to do the white woman's manicure . i was extremely offended and beyond upset so i kindly put my shoes back on and left out . i can only assume it's holiday time so he assumed the white women would tip more but this isn't acceptable and it's a hurtful feeling read more

i have come here many times and was always satisfied but not super impressed. today was the last time i'll ever come back though. i wanted my acrylic nails SOAKED off and dip powder on my natural nails. The lady said they would do a soak off and then proceeded to rip my nails off with a metro card and cuticle cutters. illegal, dangerous and painful. i would move my hand away in pain and she would just grab it. she pulled my nails off and broke all of them and then said my natural nails were too weak and i needed tips. basically she ruined my nails just to get me to pay extra. terrible business. don't waste any money or time here read more

I loveeeee this place. I have been looking for a new nail salon for so long because I was tired of being charged so much money for such shitty quality. I can get a full set with gel polish, a gel pedicure and my eyebrows waxed for less than I have payed for a single set of nails at other places. This place has great prices, super friendly staff and they actually take their time!! So many salons in the city rush the whole time and don't care if they have made a mistake but not here. I've had my nails done by a different nail tech each time I've been in there and they kill it every time. 10/10 recommend. read more

Extremely poor service. I made an appointment with the nail tech Lala and she canceled my appointment the day of service, 7 minutes before my appointed time. She took a walk-in over me and tried to make me wait an hour and a half past my appointment. Lala made no accommodation made for me for the inconvenience. I was greatly disappointed by the treatment I was given. The staff here tend to be rude and dismissive. They tell you to make an appointment but will take a walk-in before servicing you. The store is clearly outdated, On a scale from 1-10 for cleanliness, I would give them a 2. Much improvement is needed. They lie about their credit card machine working and ask you to walk out the store to go to the ATM and get cash for payment at the corner store. On other days they allow you to make payments on the card machine but charge you too much in tax. Overall I am disappointed in the service. read more

Surcharging to use a debit card as a debit is illegal. I can understand if I asked for it to be charged as credit but I didn't. Even then surcharging is STILL illegal in NY so I actually am about to start pulling the card of every business that does this. On to my review... The prices posted are not true. I was charged more for a fill in PLUS a surcharge fee for using my debit card even though I said I wanted to step out to get cash. The female who did my nails sit three booths down on the right when you walk into the shop. Her unprofessional ass was arguing with her coworker after arguing with me about my nails. She shaped them right but burned my damn nail beds. When she swatched the colors on my nails it was a diagonal swipe which I thought was cute so I told her to continue. She was acting confused so I said again to continue painting it that way because I liked it. After she finished, instead of cleaning up the nail, this heifer tried to put a top coat on sloppy, crooked nails. I asked, "Are you really going to allow me to walk out with my nails like this?" This crook said, "You asked for it". I said, "Now I'm asking for you to clean up my nails with polish remover". To which she replied, "You never mentioned a clean up". I said, "You would cheaply allow your customer to leave with sloppy nails knowing I'm a reflection of your nail shop??" She claimed that I never mentioned she needed to clean up the sloppiness with polish remover and it would be extra to do so. MIND YOU they make you pay BEFORE polishing your nails. I told her she should know better. She knew damn well what I wanted and was being cheap talking about a fill in comes with polish on the whole nail AFTER putting the polish on my nails. That doesn't even make sense. I was not paying more surcharge fees just to pay them for a diagonal swipe of polish. I made her nickel and diming ass take it off and do it over. read more
