WoW! The lemon almond cookie with latte is the cats meow. I went back for a second cookie. Emilou's trained at the California School of Herbal studies. Her successful study shows in her selection of teas and herb. Her coffee beans at locally roasted in small batches. It is fresh. I will return, see you there. Metta john

Absolutely OBSESSED There is so much personality and flavor packed into this cozy cafe! I had the carrot muffin and I am still in shock. It was delicious, so yummy I would literally eat it every day for breakfast. Not too sweet, and also vegan & gluten free. How they did that I don't know, it must be magic. The Maca Mocha is super yummy! Perfect way to warm up my morning and get my Reishi in So many good, holistic, options! Emily is such a sweet heart and will help you find your favs

There are a lot of places to get coffee in Sebastopol. I think Emilou and Lucas make the best!

Got the focaccia bread and for entrees I got bolognese and my wife got the pesto spaghetti with the GF rummo noodles. The bread was tasty and a big portion! My wife enjoyed her pesto spaghetti and I enjoyed my bolognese, however, the bolognese was very spicy. I didn't see any mention of chili flakes on the menu and I never send food back unless it's undercooked or the wrong meal. I ate it but boy it was spicy! A quick look at some other reviews showed me others have complained about the spicy bolognese. Bolognese is not normally spicy so it's definitely a bold choice of this restaurant to throw those in without warning. So, BE AWARE of that!! I'm still giving 5 stars because our server was super friendly, the restaurant was clean, comfy, and great location. And our food was tasty! Definitely will return at some point and just ask for no chili flakes.

We started with a Cappelletti Spritz (basically an Aperol spritz but not Aperol, and I kind of liked it better), some olives, meatballs, and the burrata toast. All were delicious! For our mains, we had the Bolognese (one with burrata and one without) and the spaghetti with Sunday Red. They made it a point to mention several times that the Bolognese had nutmeg in the sauce (NOT cinnamon as someone else posted. That would be very different.) and made sure it was okay with us. When the Bolognese came out, we discovered that they had red pepper flakes on them. My son doesn't like spicy, so we had them make another one without (took only a few minutes and we brought the other one home). It was delicious and you can definitely taste the nutmeg. We're happy we have another order! Everything was amazing. The portions were plenty. We didn't even have room for dessert and I kind of wanted that olive oil cake! Can't wait to come back.

You have to check in with the receptionist, pay in advance, and obtain lunch tickets. As we entered the café on this Thursday, we noticed the place was nearly full. There was a lady dining by herself and the servers asked her if she wouldn't mind some company. She ended up being the sweetest lady and we had a wonderful time chatting with her throughout our lunch. They offer two main entrees each week plus there is also the option of getting a large soup and salad if you want to skip the main entrée. We ordered: Fried chicken sandwich and the mushroom shepherd's pie. We had a choice of soup or salad and a drink. Their lunches have always been outstanding. The chicken sandwich had a coleslaw-like mixture on top of the chicken and it all came on a brioche bun. The meat was not dry at all. My shepherd's pie was amazing. Lots of lentils and mushroom with a parmesan mashed potato topping. Totally awesome meals. The servers are incredibly sweet and they refill drinks and take away your dishes as you finish. Even though the room was filled with diners, the volunteer servers make you feel like they are there for you and only you. Thank you! Lunch is served 11:30-1:30. $10 for members/$12 for non-members. Brunch is served on Fridays at the same time. Menu changes weekly.
