Michael is a kick! He was the heart of the store the day we stopped in. He is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and you can hear his wonderful laugh throughout the store. Michael greeted us warmly as soon as we entered the shop. He explained how the teas are organized (black, decaf, green, herbal and a few white). The leaves are in large jars and you can smell each one by opening a little square container sitting in front of each jar. I absolutely loved the herbal Blood Orange. The price per ounce is listed on each jar of tea leaves. My daughter and I purchased 2 ounce and 4 ounce pouches. Michael wrote on the outside of each pouch how long we should steep each one along with the name of the tea. We love their teas and all the cute gift items lovingly placed all over the store. We would come out more often if we could. It's a pretty and leisurely drive and Jenner is about 5 miles away. A fun stop on the way to the coast. read more

I had a friend send me some tea from here in a little tea exchange and I was thrilled! After growing up in this area, I was shocked I had never stopped off in Duncans Mills to get tea here. After some careful planning, hubby and I made the drive out on a gorgeous weekend afternoon. As others have said, the person staffing behind the counter was firm about masks and hand sanitizer, as well as requesting we not touch anything unless we were going to buy it. Ok, that's fine with me..."look with your eyes" my mom always used to say. We were there for tea, but notices a ton of other great stuff including balking mixes, awesome items for gifts, and of course, all the tea adjacent items you could ever want. There were some rude people visiting the shop the same time we were there, and they were demanding and bossy to the shop attendant. It was our decision to wait till that party was done and out before we approached with questions about the teas. After looking at all the options, we chose one green tea, one black tea, and one rooibos tea. All the teas were delicious sounding, and I definitely missed the multisensory experience of tea shopping in the past where you could smell each item. The prices were good and the selection was massive. Everything we bought was delicious and we absolutely will be back! read more

They sell everything tea! Before stepping further inside the shop we were told to sanitize our hands and it doesn't matter if you've sanitized your hands 20+ times from visiting the other stores you need to oblige. And we did without question. You must wear your mask the correct way making sure the mask is covering your nose and mouth and that it stays this way the entire time you are inside the shop. You are now free to move about the store and begin shopping... Upon entrance your first visual are the colorful decorated or solid color teapots, infuser teapots, porcelain and bone China teapots. They sell mugs and tea wares including mesh balls and tea rests. Along the wall are cute miniature picnic basket tea sets with different designs and themes. The shop offers over a hundred loose leaf teas (black tea, fruit tea, oolong, green, herbal, organic... you name it they probably have it). They also sell spices here from BBQ rubs to Cajun seasonings to Chipotle salts... great selection! These were located towards the back section of the store. The shop, like the other stores in this historic shopping town, is not very big and may be difficult to social distance if there are a lot of visitors inside. The seller was busy with other customers, I didn't interact much with her other than being told to sanitize our hands before entering. We found them in the historic Russian River town of Duncans Mills. I enjoyed looking around but if you are not able to make it to their shop you can go on their website and shop online. Lovely shop with plenty of tea blends, you'll never be bored. Our visit today was particularly pleasant thanks to the gentleman who was working, he made our day! I also noticed that as the shop got busier, he kept working on our "order" but made a point to greet every guest, which I really admire. I would recommend this shop to anyone, but especially those skeptics who "don't like tea", something for everyone. What a find! Camping at Casini Ranch we golf carted over to this quaint little town of Duncan Mills. Having 4 littles with us we didn't get to explore as much as we wanted but did make it into this tea shop. Amazing teas line the walls all with samples to smell. Ended up with the Pumpkin Cream, and being an avid tea drinker, I have no words! It's so smooth and has such a delicious flavor I'm hoping I can purchase more online!!!!! Revisited here 2 August '20. Yes, you are asked via a sign just inside the door to sanitise your hands and wear gloves. COVID-19 kills so abide and carry on. There appears to be an even wider selection of black loose leaf teas here than the last time I was here(over a year ago). Shop keeper was very nice and polite and filled my order promptly and correctly. I got my usual Scottish Highlands, Irish Breakfast, and Earl Grey. But they have some new flower and fruit infused black tea. Can't way to try. If you fancy loose leaf tea, this is the place. Stopped in the other day and enjoying browsing the variety of tea themed items they have in stock, and exploring the loose leaf teas. Found a lovely toasted rice green tea, and a vanilla roiboos with the assistance of one of the owners, as well as a cute ceramic kitty shaped tea bag plate. Both owners were kind and helpful without being pushy by any means. We enjoyed our time shopping here, and the other local recommendations they gave us as we checked out! LOVE this little shop! They have the cutest selection of mugs (for tea or coffee), tons of adorable tea pots, anything you can think of used for making, serving, & drinking tea. Plus, a huge selection of custom made loose teas. I bought 4 flavors of delicious green tea but I wanted them all! (Haha). And I bought a beautiful mug with an owl face on it for a friend. My sister and I walked in to this store today and were asked to sanitize our hands when we walked in (which we did of course!) and proceeded to walk around. I made a comment jokingly about already sanitizing our hands 3 times since coming in to town. I held up a very cute apron to show my sister and the owner of this shop angrily walked over to me and asked me not to touch anything since I refused to sanitize my hands. I told him I did sanitize my hands and he begrudgingly apologized and said he did not see me sanitize my hands. The store is very cute but the owner made both my sister and I very uncomfortable and we left the town. I want them to know we feel terrible about this experience and will not be returning. This is a very stressful time for everyone and we are wearing masks and sanitizing our hands as we enter every store. We are trying to support local business during these unchartered times. Please try to be more accommodating to your customers these days and help them find some tea or lotion since we can't really smell anything ourselves through our masks. I would have appreciated someone assisting me when I walked in to help me find some tea instead of being made to feel like I was a disease infecting their store on purpose. Take care. read more

I love this charming shop in Duncans Mills. They have a vast selection of loose teas that are of excellent quality, which can be purchased in quantities of as little as 2 ozs. They also have a wide selection of tea accessories, such as teapots and lovely decor type items such as tea towels, trays, candles, cards, etc. I recently ordered from their online store and was surprised at how quickly I received my order. There are other shops in this compound, as well as an old-time country store. The flowers and window boxes are beautiful. No visit to the Russian River area is complete without a visit to Duncan's Mills. read more

I've been going to the old Mr. Trombly's for years, and was sad to see it close. I'm so happy to see it open under new management! Same great loose-leaf teas and cute little tea-oriented knickknacks (teacups, tea pots, infusers, empty teabags for loose-leaf teas, even mug warmers), and same knowledgeable, friendly staff. They really know their stuff! I found two of my all-time favorite teas, Creme de la Creme and Black Magic, through their recommendations. I can't wait to go back! read more
