    Hangtown Fry -- yum!
    Anastasia M.

We had breakfast at Cape Fear last Saturday and it was absolutely delicious! I thought I'd try something new, so I ordered the Hangtown Fry and I am so glad that I did! The eggs, spinach and sausage reminded me of Joe's Special, and the fries oysters and zippy sauce really rounded it out! So delicious! With fried potatoes and toast, the meal filled me up for the day! Plus, the coffee was fresh and strong and the service was prompt and fully of witty repartee!! The perfect spot to stop! And don't forget to check out all of the great shops in Duncan's Mills!

Stopped by on the way to the coast. You can find the restaurant where the cute historic shopping village is in Duncan Mills (can't miss it! ;)) It was a relatively sunny day so we sat outside. The service was fast and attentive. We got our foos relatively quickly. Ordered the hangtown fry, waffle, and sausagse. Everything tasted fresh, not too greasy and flavorful.

Stopped in while shopping, and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich and it was perfectly done! The bread paired perfectly, the chicken was cooked and seasoned proper, and the mango salsa added a good depth of flavor without overpowering the sandwich. Well done! The service was good, the server (whom I'm pretty sure was the owner) made for a fun experience, he was friendly and also on top of everything the entire time. Great job! :) The Ambiance is that of a small French inspired cafe, and it fits in perfectly with the motif of the shops around it. If you're in the area and are looking for a good meal then look no further.

Great salads and solid portions! Grabbed a late lunch over the holiday weekend and this place was packed! The portions were generous and the salads looked phenomenal. I ordered the curry chicken sandwich on homemade focaccia. The focaccia was a bit dense for my preference, but the flavors and spices were lovely. Fries were mid-range, but still cleaned the plate. The servers were all very friendly, even with the summer crowds. A solid lunch spot.

Wonderful little spot. Extremely friendly staff. Had the salmon Benedict which was delicious! Best grits I've had in a long time. Surrounded by cool shops too.

Found this gem on Yelp and it did not disappoint! We walked right in, were greeted and seated within a minute. The coffee was really good and the food was even more amazing! The service was quick, friendly and made you feel like an old friend. The ambiance was well decorated and gave you that home feel; as if you're eating at a family member's or good friend's home.

Parking - lots of parking in the front side and rear of the shops Service - great. Loved the energy and enthusiasm. Definitely made it fun. Rear patio accommodates dogs. Thanks Francisco! Food - waffle and a cheeseburger w/bacon. Both rock solid and definitely satisfied our hunger Do stop in Duncan Mills and check out the shops.

We came by for breakfast during our stay at Cazadero and were pleased with our food! Got seated right away upon arrival. Prices were kind of expensive despite its location though. Service: 10/10. Everyone we interacted with was nice, quick, and super friendly. Food: 10/10. Fried oyster po boy - Juicy and delicious. Lots of oysters in there as well. Fresh vegetables and nicely toasted bread. Ricotta tortellini with house smoked salmon - 10/10. Needless to say, this was veeeerrryyyyyy cheesy. Nonetheless, it was really delicious and smoked salmon really balanced out the cheesiness idk why lol. I finished this in a day and it's very uncommon for me to finish a meal in just a day :) House coffee - A bit bland but it was kind of strong like I wanted it.

We came here with our buddy who is a local. Jo was our server and was very friendly and helpful. I liked the French toast, hubby had a Brie, spinach omelette and potatoes (both tasty), and our friend had the hangtown fry with fried oysters. Cute place with reasonable pricing, highly recommended. It's part of a little group of shops and restaurants.

Are small well-behaved dogs allowed in the outside seating area during breakfast?

Yes! We've taken our two dogs there many times

What time does this place really open? I just called at 9:30am and it was closed though it says open on yelp.

I think their hours vary during time of year. I just took a pic of their new summer hours posted in the window and will post to Yelp. Hopefully it's more accurate then Yelp hours

They treated us well - we were immediately seated to a table with roses and Champagne. They even played "Anniversary," by Tony! Toni! Toné! soon after we settled in. So thoughtful! The food hit the spot. We got the dinner for two deal that gives you an appetizer, 4 servings of proteins and 3 sides. We started off with the hot links that were saucy as advertised in the menu. We decided to get all the 4 proteins advertised. The catfish won me over -- the thinnest breading that gave just the right amount of crunch -- and I was also a fan of the chicken. The ribs were good too, though I wish the meat fell off the bone, and the fried chicken was good too, but I would've swapped it out for another serving of the catfish. For sides, we went with the mac and cheese (I believe it had a Cajun seasoning mixed in that was a nice surprise), potato salad and succotash (had to get some vegetables in there!). We were also served cornbread waffles with honey butter, which practically felt like a dessert. We were so stuffed! We had no room for dessert but wished we could've tried the beignets. The menu lists 5 different kinds, including a yuzu that caught my eye. The hospitality made me feel so welcomed - from the hostess to the servers. The cook even came out to greet us happy anniversary! There were two birthdays while we were there, and the staff sing Stevie Wonder's version of the Happy Birthday song. Needless to say, we had a fun time and the funky decorations adds to the environment.

We ordered fried chicken wings and hush puppies for appetizers and they were tasty. My bbq pork ribs were absolutely delicious! My husband enjoyed his crispy fried catfish. There's so much food we couldn't finish our entrées. We'll have enough leftovers for tomorrow's dinner. To top it off, the restaurant offered me a free birthday dessert. My yummy peach cobbler even came with a birthday candle. My husband's banana pudding was huge! We'll definitely return for another delicious meal.

We ordered the Coastal Tacos (rock cod) and Fried Chicken Sandwich. At first we were concerned that it might not be enough for us, but when the food came, we realized our worries were for naught. Both the tacos and the sandwich were quite large and also quite messy, but if a taco or fried chicken sandwich is not a little messy, it's probably not very good! The decor retains the flavor of the building's roots. I seem to recall reading that it was a stage coach stop (or railroad stop?) during an earlier life, which is completely believable since it was built in 1864. Rustic, but with some modern touches. We plan to stay at the Valley Ford Hotel again, and when we do, we'll wander down the stairs to Rocker's Roadhouse for dinner. I hope there's oyster Po' Boys on the menu by then!

Ages ago I happily awarded 5-stars to Rocker Oysterfeller but when I came to Rocker's Roadhouse for lunch on a recent Monday afternoon things were decidedly not 5-star. The bar area that one enters first had no patrons despite a table of dirty dishes remaining. When we announced we'd like to stay for lunch we were asked to wait while a table in the dining room was cleared. That's exactly what was cleared: one table in the dining room. There were two other tables of customers in the dining room and now a single clean table. Every other customer-free table in that room was stacked with dirty dishes left by previous customers. This wasn't just unappetizing. It was disgusting and we opted not to stay for lunch. I'm hoping this was some sort of aberrant situation as opposed to standard operating procedure. C'mon Rocker's Roadhouse, get your act together.

The presentation of the sandwiches were great and looked appetizing. However, my son didn't find the smash burger a bit compared to those he tried in other places. The fries were not really a big deal here. The clam chowder had other ingredients like ham and corn. I prefer the cream heavy type of chowder than theirs which was more the soupy type. It seemed it needed more flavor. The view of the Russian River was so pretty. It was a long and winding road drive to the restaurant from Santa Rosa, better to stop here after coming from Bodega bay to avoid the winding roads. Menu item prices should be adjusted lower due.

The service was awesome, our server Evan quickly got us to our seats and took our orders. We tried the oyster epiphany (fresh oyster with lime ginger and wasabi dressing) I wasn't a big fan of oysters due to its fishy after taste. But this place nailed it! The sauce really paired well, oysters were soo fresh I could go for another round. We also ordered homemade sourdough as starters, the whipped butter was very light , not too overwhelming. The sourdough was soft and the poppy seeds add texture to it. The pairing works so well, we asked for another refill. Now to the main course, the fish tacos were on point, not very memorable to be honest. But the pasta!!! omg you could tell it was hand made, the shrimp were fresh and cleaned it wasn't fishy at all. I was expecting it to be a tomato based pasta, but the sun dried tomato gave such a nice additional profile, sweet and sourness to the truffle based pasta sauce. Our first visit the cabins were a bit too "rustic" for our liking, and we were grateful to only there for one evening. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was TINY, and the window would not shut due to the lean of the cabin. We enjoyed the fresh air throughout the evening, and had plenty of blankets to keep warm. The view of the Ocean and mouth of the River was amazingly beautiful to watch the sunset and we have views from our room and the restaurant. The restaurant was amazing, and what really made the experience next level. I can't remember what we ate, but I have longed to go back remembering it was delicious. We did stay the second time in their Oceana room in the home collection which was much more our style. There were no issues with the windows or doors, there was a private hot tub, and the deck was much more spacious. We had a kitchen to cook in, including a full size refrigerator and oven. Since our last stay the common beach area had been hit by a rough storm and had changed the landscape significantly. It was a reminder that Mother Nature can change things in an instant, and never take it for granted. Having the private space of the home collection made this less of a hit on our experience since we didn't need to use it. The restaurant delivered again with an amazing meal, beet salad, filet mignon, and bread service. I look forward to our next trip and plan to bring my parents out and spend some quality time together, listening to music, playing games, watching the ocean, and eating amazing food. This time I will attempt to take more photos, and update my review.
