A lot of flans can be a sugar bomb, but this one felt much more balanced. The cafe itself was clean, comfortable, and a nice place to sit for a coffee, pastry, or meeting. I'd definitely order the flan again and would be interested in trying more of their pastries on a future visit.

It is also an oasis with goo-gobs of creative talent and cool people you will find. Ranchers, farmers, construction workers, normal hard-working folk, authors, athletes, chefs, sound engineers,sculptors,craftspeople, photographers, and inventors. A full cast of interesting characters. The home of the world's ugly dog contest (I tend to stay away during this event to avoid becoming a contestant) and wrist wrestling championship. Once famous for being the egg capital of the world. I once heard this conversation in a bar, "Hey Steve remember when we got paid to inseminate chickens when we were on acid?" Steve: "Those were chickens?" Sam Shepard would've had a field day here. Some newer buildings made to look old with crafted Styrofoam façades. You get the feeling you're on a movie set, which it has been on several occasions. I lived here for a number of years, a bit of a Peyton Place aura. Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more. Some of my favorite people I've met in the last 30 years hale from here. And, a disappropriated amount have left this earth too soon. One of the best foodie destinations north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Superb coffee shops and bakeries, some award-winning. So, back in 1999 I took a wrong turn off the freeway and discovered Petaluma and the first place I went was the "Tea Room" and it's still pretty much as awesome as it was then. A real nice vibe, nicely decorated with some incredible pastries to include the orange cranberry scone as I recall, sold out today. My breakfast today was quite good with the walnut toast, and a huge portion of very large potatoes that could've been cut into smaller pieces and maybe I only needed one third of the portion. Dem tatters were 'nuff for four people. Great atmosphere, nice friendly staff, and a very pleasant ambience. There's mirrored signage that says TEA mounted high on the wall across from one another so as to appear as if it were a reflection. I personally can also see the word EAT in there every time I glance at it. I was told years ago that it came from an old Texaco gas station sign. It makes sense, check it out. On Western Avenue. I used to tell folks it's across from the pink Catholic Church rectory. That's been painted to a rather unattractive conservation brown. A lot of nice outdoor seating and cool shops nearby, check out next-door thrift shop and the ever remarkable Petaluma market around the corner, with superb produce display! Famous for cheese, wine, cider, breweries and happy cows! If you're coming from the south cut over through Fairfax to Olema and take the back road up to Petaluma which is a stunning drive!

I'm not sure what her issue is, but I have heard from other friends in town that they have had similar experiences with her and it's made them stop going there. The staff is so sweet and attentive. They actually anticipated our every wish. Lots of activity as the cheery staff buzzed around us patrons. They gave us each a packet of wildflower seeds. Super cute, mismatched floral china, knickknacks everywhere, gorgeous flowers in the garden. We are on the terrace, which was lovely. The only drawback is that it's right on Main Street with a lot of traffic going by. The food was so good. We started with salad of the adults and crudite with homemade ranch with just a twang of spice to start. Then they brought out 3 tiered tea cake stands for each of us - a kids size, a regular, and a gluten free one. Everything was so delicious. A plate of 5 savory treats, each one more sumptuous than the next. A plate with a perfect scone with a tiny raspberry jam container, lemon curd, and clotted cream (my fav). Last tier had dessert, a chocolate cake with raspberry on top, a shortbread with white chocolate, and fruit. The shortbread cookie was the item I liked the least. They bring you a tea case so you can smell every option. We had grandma's garden, mint, and maple . All tasty. I wish we could have tried even more but they did refill each adorable teapot with more hot water. The price is quite high but it was a lovely way to celebrate. Will definitely come back again. Lady Blume Microbakery serves delicious coffee drinks and pastries. Each drink even comes with a tiny cookie! Cute and delicious. The coffee was good, service even better. We even ventured to try their housemade donut holes. These were more like a cakepop without a stick. Very good and a great donut alternative! There is lots of seating inside, and the back room offers more space to spread out. The place was packed when we visited. Seemed like a popular spot for Father's Day morning. While I probably won't be in the area to visit again anytime soon, if you're nearby, Lady Blume is totally worth checking out.

I loved that literally everything in the store is labeled, so you don't have to constantly ask "what's this" or "what flavor is that." There was a buy five, get one free cookie deal so obviously we had to get six plus a cupcake. It was about $40 but these cookies are at least 2-3 servings, so it's a great price. A few days later and we're still eating them, and they are still perfectly moist. My favorite was the snickerdoodle or the brown butter with a slab of chocolate on top! The cupcake was tiramisu flavored: a delicious moist vanilla cupcake with an espresso/chocolate flavored filling, fluffy frosting, and a soaked ladyfinger on top. YUM! They also have some really unique sugars, including date sugars, which I bought for my diabetic grandma. They weren't sure whether the date sugar contained added cane sugar, so they called the owner right then to confirm before selling it to me, which I really appreciated. Great place to stop for some coffee, and a bonus that it's tucked inside one of the coolest antique shops in the greater Bay Area.
