Great breakfast the bacon is thick and wide with good hash browns. First time eating a German Pancake. So sad to hear our favorite bartenders are gone, my husband and I come down every week to play the slots and just to chat it up with our favorite bartender who worked Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. She always had our drinks ready when we walked in the door and was our lucky charm! We came back to find out she is gone along with the other one who worked nights. We came in And dealt with this terribly rude older woman who acted like she would rather take poison then serve us food, after we had received our order we were just ignored. If you don't have a ticket then you do not exist. On a positive note the food is always up to standard sad to see the service has significantly dropped. I am not sure we will return. read more

Has a diner-like feel inside, and the service is quick, solicitous and friendly. Coffee and water are served immediately, and our order was taken within 5 min of being seated. I had the veggie omelet with egg whites only--it was perfectly cooked, light and delicious. Good ratio of veggies to egg, and the veggies were sautéed separately from the egg. And they didn't charge extra for whites only! My husband had the apple baby--crisp a and light and flavorful. The restroom was really clean and modern also. I'll definitely be back! read more

Consistently good. Quick service. I am always amazed at the amount of friendly staff. I tried the shrimp skillet. WOW! Loved it. We love this Elmer's. It is always very clean, and while it can be crowded, it is one of the few breakfast spots in Gresham. We had GREAT service from Marissa yesterday morning. She was very attentive and friendly. Food was great----I had the very naughty German pancake with lemons and butter, served with a side of crisp bacon and 2 eggs for about $10. I haven't been in this restaurant for over a year. I'm in my 60's and when I asked for a baileys coffee I was asked for my ID. Normally I would feel very faltered but the bartender was very rude about it and when I asked if she asked everyone she replied "no not the regulars". I could have been a regular from that point on if I felt comfortable there. I didnt even want to stay so I canceled my drink order. Wasn't too impressed by this place. Wife and I arrived for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't all that busy. Both of us decided to go with the Prime Rib Dip. Really have no complaints about the service as it was spot on. Didn't have to beg for refills which is mostly what I want at restaurants but what really was a let down was the food. When the sandwiches came out it was sliced in the middle and upon pulling it apart there were a couple sections of red colored meat in both of them. Now I don't mind stuff being medium but these pieces were barely hot if not a little cold. So I ended up just pulling it out and not eating it and the wife did the same. Another issue is that I'm a crispy French fry person and all of the fries were soggy as hell. Weh....at that point I really considered sending the dish back but who knows what I'd get back. When I have the option, and those times are less and less these days, my daughter and I love to frequent Elmers for a brunch of sorts. She always orders the same thing of the kids menu, but I have tried darn near every breakfast itme they have and haven't been disappointed yet. The German Pancake isn't as tradtional as a true "Dutch Baby" but it still tastes good as do their crepes (my favorite) waffles, french toast, and so on. Staff is always super friendly, I always give them a decent tip because they work hard to earn it. read more

This restaurant is top quality. Frankly my family won't eat breakfast out anywhere else. The food is plentiful and they are great about adjusting an order to accommodate my preferences. My experience here was positive and my first time into Gresham in over 20+ years?; My ex-coworkers [now Retired] meet here for Breakfast and chatter on the 3rd Tuesday morning every month; I must admit it was somewhat of a Drive to get here? But the Breakfast was very good! I ordered the Chicken fried steak with eggs and Hash-Browns, with toast, and finished off with good coffee! I still have never known why this Breakfast is named Chicken fried steak when it's actually Beef not chicken? But oh well; one of those mystery's I suppose? My Breakfast was excellent and very tasty so that's mostly what I care about anyway! I will come again sometime whenever I get the time to get away and get to Gresham again. read more

We were there yesterday after reading earlier very good reviews and decided to take a chance and drive out there. Bad decision. I had the $11.50 Reuben sandwich which was lukewarm at best. Rye bread barely toasted and soggy from the mass of wet sauerkraut inside. No garnish on the plate just fries..no pickle, nothing else for that price. My sons cheeseburger was also below par with just about 11 fries, no mustard or ketchup on the burger and not even on the tables. I did complain and got my meal (mostly not eaten) gratis but we won't be back. The staff was nice enough though but you can find that at many other places along with delicious food. read more

Sally this morning made eating at a restaurant so simple. I was happy to tip her. For years now I have not had a good server since living in Bend Oregon the standards in Portland OR terrible but Sally did an excellent job and all she did was ask for our food and drinks order and just scared and she wasn't overbearing and she wasn't neglectful at all she was just perfect. We have been going to this Elmer's for several years now. It is so good to go somewhere and feel comfortable and pleasant. The waitresses are very attentive to the customers. Coffee is great and we truly enjoy it. The menu is extensive and the selections are great as well. We like to try new specials when they come out; tho my wife enjoys the ranch breakfast, eggs over medium, hashbrowns and bacon, with a side of pancake instead of toast/biscuit. I am a bit more adventurous...but its a great place to eat breakfast any time of the day. read more

Dined here on a recommendation for a good brunch with the wife. The food was well prepared, with the delightful characteristics of a home cooked breakfast without the inevitable burnt taste from the wife's cooking. This replaces IHOP as our GoTo Sunday breakfast place. IHOP in Fairview has gone downhill with slow service and incorrect orders. This Elmer's has none of those problems. Service is prompt and polite. The servers speak English. Hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold and within a very reasonable wait time eventhough the place was packed with customers. The staff checks frequently for coffee refills and to see if anything is needed. Awesome!!!! read more

First of all the staff is amazing extremely friendly and great food very well rounded menu..highly recommend the chicken fried steak one of my favorites add in sharp cheddar melt the cheese into your hashbrowns little salt pepper mix to add around in the gravy with the chicken fried steak good cup coffee can't get much better than that. read more
