Loulou's also serves pizzas, ranging from the basic to special pizza pies. My partner had the Loulou's breakfast, which includes two eggs, toast, potatoes, tomatoes and your choice of meats. I had the three-cheese omelette with potatoes and toast. Both dishes were very tasty and cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant almost looks like a 1950's dinner, and is super cool and very welcoming. Soft jazz music was playing while we were there, which made it relaxing as well. Service was excellent and spot on, very polite and professional. A must if you are in the area of downtown Jasper and even just passing through!! I look forward to returning to try their pizza.

It is located about a block off the main street close the center of town. Street parking is free before 9 a.m. and there are plenty of spaces nearby. We got there at opening time (7 a.m.) the first day and a half hour or so later the second day. The menu has a large number of breakfast options, though they are open for lunch / dinner as well, apparently. We had fairly standard bacon / eggs / toast platters the first day and my wife got an omelet the second day. We left satisfied. The coffee was good too. The only leftovers we had was some toast (they give you 4 half-slices with a plate, which is a bit much for me. However, we turned that into a snack sandwich with some spread, which was good later on. If your hotel does not have a connected restaurant or if you just want to branch out a bit for breakfast, Smitty's seemed like a good choice.

Seating inside it swank and comfy. Lots of configurations and a stellar window view of the lake is the spot to have. Service is cold but efficient. We had some questions about the menu and she went to get answers but didn't seem too excited to be asked. For dinner it's three tables of varying size so not crazy busy at 6pm mid week. The cheese plate was exceptional. Had a cider and the lavender mocktail was really fresh and delicious. The dinner menu wasn't a huge draw and we had hiked here from downtown. We were lucky to get a table at the window as there are only a few with lake views and they are all 2 seaters. We started with the Caesar salad which is unlike a traditional Caesar and I quite prefer this version as it has more interesting flavors and textures. Plus the chef didn't drown it in dressing. I enjoyed the duck entree and the husband had the steelhead. Both were very tasty and I'd recommend either depending your mood. We finished with the Pavlova and berries dessert which was a perfect ending to a lovely meal along with strong, hot black coffee. It Hit The Spot! They have slot machines in the back, a tv and sofa area in the center with a full bar. Friendly service and cheap drinks. I also had dropped my mask somewhere in there and the next day, I checked the front desk and someone turned it in!! Don't even think that's gross - my mask was a handmade baby yoda one that I loved, so a toss in the wash won't do no harm. Just the fact that whoever (guest or staff) found it had the heart to turn it in shows a lot about this place and it is much appreciated.

The chocolate milk was a bit lacking, but the caramel macchiato was actually very good! The décor is definitely dated, though there were lots of "historic" pieces around that were fun to look at while waiting for food. Staff were very nice and friendly, which made the experience better. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a classic, no-frills breakfast on the go.

After receiving my food, I immediately drove back to the hotel. To my surprise, when I got back to the hotel, not only did I get my steak and eggs, the fettucine alfredo, but, I also had a bonus box of ginger beef. The food was okay. It was diner food. Service was okay. They did try to contact me on my burner cellphone to let me know that I received a bonus, but, I left the phone in the car. It's an okay place.

Even though we were the only people in the restaurant we were very fortunate to get impeccable service. If I ever find myself in Hinton again I will be checking out this spot!
